Oh, the one stumbling block that I kept forgetting, you should start to pitchover (turn in the direction of your orbit) at about 10k. I always forget and end up with a hugely elyptical orbit and wasting a lot of fuel.
-
I would say just go and build something. Wait to look up anything until you can reliably get a rocket into space, orbit, and de-orbit safely (or you get really stuck.) You should be able to do that just by playing around with the staging of a pretty basic solid fuel rocket with a small liquid fuel final stage. After that, I'd start looking up help on how the orbital planning controls work and start learning some of the real physics behind how stuff works. That prepares you for doing a mun visit (or an orbital intercept, or a space station, or any number of cool tasks.) Edit: I linked this on the last page, but when you're ready to do the complicated stuff I recommend this video series: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/15652-Orbital-Mechanics-101-A-Kerbal-Space-Program-Tutorial Some of the parts and such that he mentions have been changed or removed, but the general concepts are still great.

So far I haven't gotten too many of the fancy items with cool special effects. I don't play a ton either (Paragon level 28) so that's not unusual. I'll keep my eye out for Nemisis bracers I guess.

A Dedicated Thread For Talking About Star Trek Episodes

The Borg drilled into his brain and forced him to help kill 100s of other people. I think most of the normal character attributes for Picard go out the window when the Borg are involved. Also, the most of the action movie stuff was in later movies. Picard was only really involved in one major action movie style fight, right at the end when he goes in to save Data. Most of the fight scenes in First Contact are hiding in the dark halls of the Enterprise, scared for your life, Aliens sort of tense moments. The off-roading was in Nemesis, and most of the crazy commando stuff was in Insurrection. I still like Enterprise (the TV series.) I acknowledge that it's got some pretty cheesy bits and bad one-off episodes, but once they got the Xindi story arc going I felt like they nailed the feeling that Voyager tried for and missed, a moral captain out there on his own doing immoral things to get the job done. -
I need to get back to playing racquetball. Unfortunately, I am moving away from my health club (that I last visited 3 months ago) here soon so I'll have to find another place.

Garrus was my romantic partner All this link did was get me to surf around the BioWare site and look for awesome Mass Effect merch that I shouldn't purchase, so I guess it succeeded.

Not plastic, compressed potato.

They make utensils out of potatoes these days. I have eaten one. It isn't good.

Orbital intercepts are no joke. The claw probably would have made my Kerbal rescue mission a lot easier way back when.

I should probably start selling rares rather than salvaging them. I have plenty of pretty much every crafting material besides Death's Breath, which I don't think you can get from salvage.

I watched that Quicklook and they hit a ton of bugs. I have hit a few, but not near as many as they did. For the record, I like it (but don't love it.) My only real complaint is that it feels awful crowded with other players, but that goes away once you get out of the tutorial areas and into the wider open world.

I'm definitely in the market for a nice expensive one. I've cheaped out before and it's rarely worth it. Edit: We're living in a fairly small townhome, so I don't think range will be a big deal. I think I'll go in on that Wirecutter recommendation, they've never steered me wrong before. Edit2: But the AC56U isn't available direct through Amazon, so maybe I will splurge on the AC66U. Edit3: Or maybe a used one from the Amazon Warehouse.... decisions decisions.

Filled out the first one. Surveys that ask me to list all the MMOs I've played are always tough, I'm sure there's some I missed.

Thank you for all of the posts regarding this. It was in my peripheral vision, but I hadn't actually read any of the information out there about it. -
That LoL video actually sounds cool. Also :)

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I went with a Tremere Blood Mage and had a fine time. I hear that Malkavian is especially entertaining. -
It's all a game. LIFE is a game.

I've been to the Key a couple of times for hockey games. It's really echoey and kinda old. It's going to be a big change from the symphony hall they were in before.

So, I guess this has become the defacto ESO thread? I had no intentions of getting this after seeing a somewhat dismal showing at PAX, but friends have been having a lot of fun in the beta and my resolve crumbled. Once you get out of the starter area, this plays mostly like an Elder Scrolls game. It's not the best thing in the world, but it's solid and fairly fun. I'm also a big fan of the level-up system. Combat is a bit less responsive than I'd like, but still better than most MMOs.

The end of DS9 is a lot about the context and I can see from what you've written that you're not aware of at least some of it. I enjoyed the end to the Kai's story, as well as most of the Dukat vs Sisko stuff. Despite the religion stuff not really drawing me in, it's a good culmination of Sisko and Dukat's seperate (but somewhat similar) path from skeptic to crazy zealot. Pretty much the only thing I wasn't a fan of was Odo's epilogue. -
This all reminds me, I'm going to have to get a new router when I move out. What are the current go-to models? I'm not huge on flashing custom firmware, but if it's easy and really worth it I could be convinced.

Hmm, I didn't think about that. Meh, I buy everything DF does these days.

Apparently the Mojang April fools is to re-do all the sounds with a stupid villager voice. You can kind of hear it here (in another April fools video)
