Maybe it's casting speed that's bugging you? Much like dodging and estus flask usage, the default spell casting speed is so slow as to be down right dangerous. A few different stats up that casting speed, and I've been seeing my holy lightning bolts get a lot more useful as my personal casting speed has gotten above 100.

Hmm, the RRA.... he kills me in about 5 seconds. I don't even know what to do. Edit: I beat him. Despite what was said before, he was doing the dashing headbutt maybe 50%-75% of the time. Dodging that seemed to basically be a crap shoot, since many times I would dodge and go right through him, others it would look like he missed and I'd still get hit. Once I figured out how to kill the small rats fast enough, it was basically a flip of the coin on whether I could dodge his headbutt enough times to do some real damage. Eventually he got stuck doing the paw swipe attack repeatedly for no obvious reason (I was at about the same range as before, hadn't hit him recently, or anything) and I burnt him down.

There are so many good games out (or coming out) by publishers I like. I think I might pull the trigger on Transistor though, because Bastion is up on my top games of all time list.

They say it's fun to play with, and by play with I guess they mean chasing it? I dunno about you, but i wouldn't call trying to catch something that runs in a straight line at 10-20 mph all that fun to run after.

I have struggled with this from time to time as well. I've learned that I'm a pretty hard worker when the fat is in the fire, so they can put up with a little downtime when it's not. Everyone slacks off some.

I think I was rushing for the Necromancers too fast and getting overwhelmed because of that. Regardless, a shield made it real easy.

I have no knowledge of the quality of the games for better or worse, but I'd love to experience the Tex Murphy games through your eyes. After seeing the quick look of the new one on Giant Bomb, I'm half tempted to make one of these threads myself. They're all available on GoG I believe.

Neverwinter is pretty heavily monitized, much in the style of Star Trek Online. If you can get past that, there's a decent game there though. Not as good as Rift though. I loved Rift, but I just can't get back into it the last couple of times I played. Also, Secret World. I'm a sucker for any game that doesn't have a strict 1-60 level grind, but I'm pretty much an MMO tourist these days.

I'm playing this entire run without a shield Most of the time I have my tailsman in the other hand though. Edit: Had to break this rule for the bone chariot though. It was simply too valuable to be able to block the skeletons while waiting for the chariot to swing by. Edit 2: In particular, I've enjoyed the power stance attack with the Warped Sword. Unfortuantely, it's a bit week for me as a primary weapon compared to a +10 lightning infused Heide's Sword. I really need to get some more Dragon Bone.

That's fairly common I'd say. The more recent Halo games have been like that as well. Would you say it's easier to get in a map-pack exclusive game now than it was to get in a regular game before the pack came out?

As soon as they started throwing in tons of guns (mid-way through act 2 I think?) I really started to hate that game. I'd really like to finish it at some point, but I don't even know why.

I've had a ton of fun powerstancing myself, but it drains stamina really quick and I'm not sure if it's really worth it. Thankfully, I'm not in a position where I have to be super careful about otimizing my weapon choices. I also co-op a lot to try out new weapon combinations.

I can't decide if I want to get the map pack or not. The last few times I played (maybe three weeks ago or so) I wasn't really getting too many matches.

I'm at the point where I've already tried playing STALKER and quit a couple hours in, so easier might not be all that bad. I'll keep it in mind however.

What moveset you get isn't entirely dependant on your primary weapon. There's a list of different weapon priorities out there on the internet somewhere that describes which move sets have presidence over other. Also, your two weapons have to be somewhat similar for the power stance to work.

I took a couple of weeks off after beating that area. Everything in there is lightning resistant, which just made the whole thing a slog for me. Not hard, just annoying. I need to get back on the horse here soon though, or else what little skill I have might atrophy.

I need to get my wife's family sharing thingy setup so I can try this. I like the narrator enough to have bought the DOTA announcer pack (and even launch and play a game!)

The only way to fix this satisfactorily would be to put a character creation preference for mate gender. Simply turning the switch from no to yes would, I would think, cause the opposite problem where folks that were hetero-normative are getting forced into having a homosexual relationship. I doubt those sorts of large chracter creator edits could be done practically through a patch, especially given that Nintendo isn't the best at patching as is.

I just want Nintendo's online crap to be at least as good as the Xbox360's. Real match making, real account purchases that are attached to me, not the console, a friends list that's worth using.

The other reason not to do the sidequests is that you quickly outlevel the content.

When the DS and GBA remakes came out, I finally went through and beat every single main FF game up through 10. I can confidently say that I don't remember a thing about 3.
