Those checks unlock more story under each ability description. Those stories are somewhat interesting, but probably not worth doing gymnastics to get them all checked off. I managed to do most of them for the abilities I had and I found switching up my style to be pretty fun. If it ends up being a really bad combo, you can usually just run back to the last ability change spot after one fight. My impression of the ending:

i got really good at the combat (debuffs are very important) but I rarely felt satisfied from the combat.

Dang it, I missed the easy points for qualifier predictions by a day

Responding to that spoiler: So, I beat the game. Art remains awesome, story remains mysterious. At this point I'm wondering if there are multiple endings and I accidentally made a choice at the end, or if that's how it finishes, or if new game + has a different ending. I'm not sure if I liked the mechanics enough to play through again to find out.

Edit: Changed my mind, joke wasn't funny. Edit2: Congrats!

Our toilets here in my office building "save 75% more water." I've often pondered the fact that, since flushing a regular toilet only takes about two gallons of water, you're "saving" (in other words, not spending) all the rest of the water in the system. Thus our toilets must be bending the properties of time and space to almost double our total water supply. If we have two of them, does that triple or quadruple our water supply? Do we have to pay for all that extra water?

Oooh, I've been meaning to play Don't Starve again. I've never made it past the first winter before I got bored and wandered off.

I'm feeling a little bit better about the combat now. Running around outside of Turn() and using the dash move has improved my mobility and relieved the stop/start feeling I had out of the game. Also, opening up a quick attack so I don't have to wait for a couple of seconds every time I want to swing the sword.

We had one place we went and saw where he called us up twice to make sure we were coming because he didn't want to waste his time and people just don't show up all the time. We got there and he didn't show up, so we called and he had rented out the place yesterday and never contacted us. I wanted to punch him through the phone so bad.

I watched the start of the GB Transistor video and I learned a few things about combat that I didn't know that I'm hoping will make things smoother for me tonight. 1) I had no idea that mixing up moves gives you a combo damage bonus, while using one move several times does not. I was using the basic cheap starter attack repeatedly when I couldn't line up a multiple hit with any of my other moves. Since those multi-hit attacks cost more, I thought I was saving time to do more attacks. The sword kept being sarcastic with me saying, "Oh, so I guess we're trying out brute force today" or "That's one way to do it," without actually telling me what to do to fix it. Very frustrating. 2) I noticed they were running around doing moves in real time a lot, where I have been literaly going into Turn() the moment it becomes available. I tried attaching the dash to one of my attacks so I could use it during recharge, but I usually find myself running for my life and not really getting to use it. 3) Actually using Dash as a primary power would probably be good. I tried a couple of times, but I was using it during Turn() as opposed to just running around with it in real time. It seems next to useless with time stopped since you can just run that far, but I imagine it will be indispensible against faster enemies during real time. So, now the embarassing question, am I the only person who was about 1/4 of a bar from completely dying (all functions corrupted) during the first boss fight on the stage? Edit: When do you open up the challenge rooms? It feels like having that open to me from the start would have make things a lot easier.

Hmm, so one boss in and, while the art, voice acting, and story are all top notch, the actual combat game play isn't grabbing me. Hopefully I'll grow to like it more as I go on.

This thread reminded me that I wanted to replay ME3 with all the DLC and the new ending, since I originally played on release day but without the pre-order DLC. Then I remembered that I was half way through my ME2 hard with all DLC play that I need to finish. Then I looked at my backlog and shrivled up inside a little.

Allergies? That's my general guess at anything that makes you wierd and/or miserable at this time of the year.

I actually played a game the other day. My Zeus was a bit rusty, but I managed to hold my own and get first blood. I wish I had the time to devote to getting decent at the game. At least they fixed matchmaking so I'm not locked out of Random Draft anymore.

I would be happy to join in on this. Like most of the interested parties, I played quite a lot about a year ago but haven't touched it much since. Unlike everyone else, I don't plan on doing a refresher course before jumping right in, so this ought to be hilarious. Edit: Wow, no DF update in almost two years. I guess it's been about two years since I played then.

GFWL is not going to be terminated in July, there has been no official announcement at least, just an accidental FAQ that was posted then removed a few hours later. I'm really tired of "news" sites reporting it as fact.

Is anyone else strangely excited for the new Wolfenstein game?
Dewar replied to Architecture's topic in Video Gaming
I had no idea that there were two games before Wolfenstein 3D. -
I've known a couple of smart and super motivated individuals who have been unemployed for the better part of a year. The job market is just strange right now.

Dark Souls 2 (Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor))

I saw a shadow last night playing with power stanced giant clubs. You didn't happen to be running around in Doors of Pharros at all last night? Edit: By the way, the Rat King Covenant summons are the most annoying thing ever.- 1284 replies

Hmm, to buy the "with soundtrack version" or try and hold out for a signed disk at PAX. Edit: I guess there's no price break for buying both at the same time, so I might as well wait.

I default to folks, it was odd at first but now it's kinda my style. You can borrow it if you'd like.

Anyone remotely space geeky should check out this Elite Dangerous alpha video :D!
Dewar replied to Dr Wookie's topic in Video Gaming
I remember putting hundreds of hours into First Encounters, widely considered the worst Elite game, and loving every minute of it. I backed this at the retail level back when it was on Kickstarter, so now I just have to sit on my hands and wait.
