  1. The Ethics of Battlefield: Hardline

Maybe more like Lethal Weapon? I still wish that they hadn't used the Battlefield name for this.
  2. The Ethics of Battlefield: Hardline

I just want to point out that legal in Colorado does not mean legal federally. Any one of those pot growers could be arrested at any time by the FBI. Since the banks are national (and most likely headquartered in another state) they could be held to those standards rather than what Colorado says. The whole state/fedral law thing is dumb, banks are dumb, and none of this invalidates your underlying point, but I'd hesitate to hold up one set of criminals to blame another.
  3. I suppose that's what they were going for with the "Clementine will remember you said that" prompts in Walking Dead. I imagine it would work better in a non-story focused game, or at least a non-pre-written (rather than emergent) story game.
  4. Nintendo 3DS

    Awesome
  5. Life

All the wierd smiley selections on this forum, and there isn't an embarassed one to be found.
  6. Titanfall

Proof that an otherwise good game can be doomed by poor matchmaking design.
  7. I Had A Random Thought...

    Ignorance is always the answer.
  8. Titanfall

Which system? My understanding is that the Xbox One community is still quite active, while the PC one isn't so much.
  9. Destiny

If I were Sony and paying boat-loads to get exclusive PS4 DLC, I'd take a pretty dim view of them announcing a PC port as well.
  10. The Ethics of Battlefield: Hardline

The CD I was thinking of specifcally was a System of a Down album, but there's also a ton of rap and hip-hop about that subject as well.
  11. Life

Heh, I guess I didn't realize that was posted last week. The things you miss when you're sick....

You should contact the IRS and work with them. They are generally amiable to setting you up with a payment plan or something as long as you own up and aren't trying to dodge taxes. Failing that, the Taxpayer Advocate Office (http://www.irs.gov/Advocate) helped me a bunch when I was mistakenly charged $5000 for filing a fraudulent return. Edit: The other thing to mention is that, while the letters they send are often quite stern, all they can really do for the moment is charge you more interest, so don't panic. Obviously, if you let this sit for years they'll come after you, but a few days plus or minus aren't going to make much difference.
  13. Destiny

First, you do know it's coming out on Xbox1 as well? I'm asking seriously because the games that MS and Sony have been playing with the word "exclusive" have confused a lot of people. Second, maybe it'll be on PC someday? http://www.gamespot.com/articles/activision-says-bungie-s-destiny-on-pc-is-a-natural-fit/1100-6420475/
  14. The Ethics of Battlefield: Hardline

I have a wierd conflict of opinions here. I play Payday 2 a decent amount, and really enjoy it, but I'm not generally a fan of the cop killing thing to the point where I have refused to buy music with those themes in it. I think where it ends up being different for me is that Payday 2 treats the whole thing like a giant crazy action movie. At no point does the game feel serious and it's almost like I'm playing a dumb summer flick. EA has sold their last couple of main Battlefield games (I never played Bad Company) as super serious, "real war is like this" type stuff. That becomes really problematic for me now that they want to switch tone and start goofing about cops and robbers. GTA took the same turn for me between three and four. GTA3 was a lot more like a bad crime movie, where GTA4 took everything super serious. By the time I got to the end of GTA4, I never wanted to play another Rockstar game. I certainly never did the "Get to 5 stars then see how long I can survive" thing.
  15. Armored Core: Verdict Day

I finally got to play a little bit of this last night. Man, the menu system is almost incomprehensible, but I finally managed to get into the story mode and it feels nice to be in a AC game again after so many years. Is there any sort of online matchmaking that a single player person can get into? Every mode I tried I got a warning that I was at the minimum squad size and I really should hire mercs or get more teammates, but I don't have any mercs available. Edit: And I guess there aren't any official forums around anymore to look up tips?
  16. Destiny

I really want to get in and try this out, because everything I've seen makes it seem pretty lack-luster to me. I realize that the GB guys aren't the best folks to watch alpha game coverage from, since they tend to goof off and not really understand the game, but they seemed to be talking pretty positive about the whole experience and it looked really plain to me. *shrug* Maybe it's something you don't really get until you hold the controller.
  17. Yes, I get a crash on quit every time now.
  18. DOTA 2

Buy the compendium and start doing the daily hero quest? That's what's really got me going. Other than that, I perfer Single Draft to get me out of my comfort zone. That way you can't get stuck with Meepo. I think the point of the A to Z challenge isn't to get good at every lord, but instead to just have a basic idea what every lord can do to you. That's the main difference I see watching DOTA streams is that the guys that are good always know what threat the other players pose, while I still don't recognize half of the lords on sight.
  19. I Had A Random Thought...

I looked long and hard for the Hannibal clip about Roller Pigeons, but the only thing I could find was a lousy phone-camera recorded clip
  20. Versu

Interesting, Versu.com is blocked by my work internet as being a piracy website.
  21. Jiff?

It might be time to give Dune another watch. I might have reached the age now where I have both the intellegence and patience necessary to understand the whole thing.
  22. The F Nick Breckoncast

    OK, that's bizarre.
  23. Sounds like heat related warping of the board or circuitry. Not that it's hot now, but it got hot in the past and screwed it up, similar to what used to happen to the X360s. So yeah, crappy card needs to be replaced. Besides hard drives, video cards are the piece of hardware I see die the most.
  24. Jiff?

People get on the United State's case for poor gun control and you can buy freakin Anti Aircraft Guns in the Netherlands.
  25. The F Nick Breckoncast

Try http://www.idlethumbs.net/assets/podcasts/progresscast/nickbreckon_01.mp3 Edit: Oh, that makes a player right on the forum, I didn't know that.... Try this instead I guess. http://www.idlethumbs.net/assets/podcasts/progresscast/nickbreckon_01.mp3
