That's the problem for me. I have no idea what small talk even entails and as such remain mostly silent, desperately trying to figure out a subject to bring up. If someone else takes the lead however, I can get stuck in quite well.

From the stories I've heard my mother tell of how I was as a young child, starting school seems to have had a profound effect on my behaviour and thoughts. According to her I was always very talkative and curious about other people, approaching pretty much anyone I saw to ask them questions. She always mentions that that changed once I started in pre-school. I think starting there introduced me to shame in a way I had never experienced it before. Whether it was the experience of having the whole class laugh at me for telling them what I had heard about the weather earlier that morning or the time an older kid jabbed me in the stomach with a floorball stick because he "hadn't said I could applaud him" after he had pulled of a juggling trick... I don't know. Most probably these slightly larger events just piled up with smaller stuff over the years until it just developed into anxieties in my early to mid-teens. These led to my interest for video games (yay, escapism!) and eventually my job I guess. So yeah, school. I still loved it though, especially high school and university. Besides all the learning it provided me with a framework that got me out of the house to meet other people, people who mostly were very pleasant and fun.

I got into game dev because I've always wanted to do something creative. When I was a kid I wanted to be a comic book artist, then a video game dev, then a musician, actor and then a game dev again.

When they involve me not getting hired they certainly are! On a serious note though, congratulations on the promotion! Sounds awesome, especially the ability to add to your education. I'm having some real motivation problems outside of work lately, procrastinating like crazy. Anyone got any tips on how to corral that kind of behaviour?

I remember hearing that he had somehow got outed as stalking Dodger (Youtuber with the PressHeartToContinue handle) which was the cause for his banning. Not sure whether that is true though as it was only mentioned in a reply to a Youtube comment asking where he had gone. Edit: Damn, reading your link he seems so much worse than I ever saw in those of his comments I was privvy too. Just shows how much shit we miss. :/

I've long been intrigued by Persona but never owned a platform which the games were on so I am currently going through the Persona 4 endurance run on GiantBomb and quite enjoying it. I've also got a lead on borrowing P3 portable from a friend. However, is there any requirement for playing the previous titles or is it pretty much like FF, that every entry is more or less stand-alone?

As eot says though there's still a long way between interfering with a conflict in a neighbouring country and actually full-on attacking another country, but it's still something that is definitely making a lot of ripples over here. From the looks of it our military budget will increase by quite a margin after the elections this year, and our government is getting ever closer to NATO. Hey Subbes. How're things?

That's a bit harsh. I've quite enjoyed several of the Assassin Creed games as well as some of their smaller stuff. The problem isn't that the games are bad, it's that they're so highly iterative. I got bored by the Assassins Creed series because the third one I played was more or less the same as the previous two, and I had fairly recently finished the second one. It's the same thing as Arkham Origins which I also very much enjoyed. For people who had already played the first two, Origins was just more of the same, while I had never played any of the previous Arkham games and thought it was pretty damn great. As the thread title suggests, Ubi just needs to stop making their big titles into the same game every single time.
