My post was a joke born from looking at Syndicate too much today. Here's a Wiki entry about potentials in VC1: http://valkyria.wikia.com/wiki/Potentials_(VC1) It appears that all potentials are at least partially pre-determined (wording is not 100% clear imo), with a specific character being called out as having a "character ruining" potential. Once all named characters have died though, plain recruits will appear who have no potentials at all.

Yes, once you research the biotech lab you can replace as many of their potentials with new shiny metal ones as you like!

One thing that's come up on the podcast (I think, could be one of the others I listen to) is that one-word titles sometimes can be hard to find with a google search. Other than that I think it seems like a fitting title.

So, which platform do you guys recommend for this? I've got the PS3, 360 and PC. Heard that the PS3 had some stability issues

If anyone here has read the rumours about the game containing microtransactions, here one of the development heads denies these rumours: http://avalanchestudios.com/news/just-cause-3-unveiled/

Huh, since I've only just started on the second season I guess I've not yet encountered most of the bullshit. Maybe best to stop now while things are still decent.

Much like the syntheticgerbil, I'm unsure whether I'll ever own a Xbone, and as such this game. It definitely looks like something I could very much enjoy, what with its colors, and bouncing, and Jet Set Radio-type grinding. However it is not quite enough for me to go purchase a new system. To be honest though the I'm far closer to purchasing an Xbone now than a PS4.

I've been binging on Netflix quite a bit lately, so here comes a recommendation: The Killing (Warning! long trailer which may show a bit too much) A crime drama based on the Danish series, Forbrydelsen, The Killing follows the investigation and occurrences surrounding the murder of a young woman in Seattle. While entirely dissimilar in tone, I was surprised to find some story bits which really reminded me of Twin Peaks. Especially in the first episode. I find it quite well written, well acted (though the accent on Swedish actor Joel Kinnaman sometimes sounds a bit too Swedish to me) and intriguing. I do have some concerns regarding the series, but realized that I can't share those without spoiling the events of the first season finale. Also worth noting that the series sports a great female lead in Detective Sarah Linden, portrayed by Mireille Enos.

Must say that my week has been fairly good. Had an interview with a company that got back to me and said they were interested, as well as my first date in my life. Even so, my self esteem won't quite accept that I might not be as shit as it has long been convinced. I think I will really need to keep this week in mind for the future, try an use it as a base for improving my view of myself. Here's hoping it doesn't all turn to ashes this week

Yeah, I spent probably two-three weeks in Yokohama as well. Upon arrival Fogg contracted some illness that kept him bedridden for at least a week. I had also run out of money by the time I reached that city so I then needed to wait for quite some time to receive new funds, which, because of the expense of travelling from the city, ran out immediately again.

With the help of Netflix I've started watching Ducktales for the first time in over a decade The Swedish theme tune is not as good as I remember, but the voice actors are just as great! Also, the series summary finally answered my question regarding where Donald is during all this. Apparenty he's out serving in the Navy?!

We're currently a full group of four, but if anyone leaves we'll mention it.

Well, we've got a few people snooping around the thread here! James is waiting for the game to install.

Didn't they make a ResEvil-clone for X-Files as well? -
For a second there I thought you were referring to the actual mythological Greek god of thunder.

I'd totally package up some wierd swedish shit (that's the fun part of being part of an international communtity right?). Big question for me is how my financial situation will look closer to christmas as my current work contract will have run out by that time. Will need to revisit the idea later.

I love some of it, despise some of it. My annoyance with the way christmas is handled fluctuates a bit from year to year it seems. I'm usually quite annoyed at how early the commercialism starts ramping up for its most sacred of holidays, but when I walked into my local Åhléns store to find it suddenly contained a section full of christmas-themed textiles, candles/candlesticks, ornaments, smellls... I was more amused than anything, and on subsequent visits I found it more nice than anything. I'll hate it once christmas rolls around again though.

Playing this game on your own is an exercise in frustration. Too many things too handle that the AI are incapable of aiding you with.
