  1. Neptune's Bountiful Pride: The Sequel

Sleep is a thing of the past.
  2. Neptune's Bountiful Pride: The Sequel

Some kind of easily scannable timeline breaking down decisions made and messages sent would be totally amazing.
  3. Neptune's Bountiful Pride: The Sequel

Wouldn't that make it too easy for us to create dummy accounts and spy on each other? EDIT: Also, Role-Playing makes this game so good.
  4. Neptune's Bountiful Pride: The Sequel

I do wonder if all the mechanics are working right. I've had trouble with messages I've sent seemingly disappearing, only to reappear later after I've tried sending them again. And I am completely unable to give other players money in either game I'm playing.
  5. Neptune's Bountiful Pride: The Sequel

It does make posting about things in the forums a little harder.
  6. Life

That really sucks, Tegan. But you're really strong to confront them anyway. I'm 25 and I still haven't told my parents that I am queer because they're super Catholic (my dad is in the process of becoming a Deacon!) and I'm just way too scared of confrontation. It sounds like you really are taking steps towards living your life as who you actually are, and that takes real strength. Don't get too mad at yourself for wanting to believe the meeting would be more than it ended up being. My girlfriend has a parent with Borderline personality disorder and it's a constant struggle for her to maintain proper boundaries because she wants to believe so much that her mom can change. What's important is that you clearly have some kind of support network, your friend and a counselor who both can help you out.
  7. Listening to the Neptune's Pride 2 conversation as I eagerly await the game we put together here on the boards to start is TERRIFYING.
  8. Sonic Devouring Tails

  9. Other podcasts

Has MBMBAM picked back up again? I noticed this crazy dip in quality somewhere around episode 125 where every episode was about 15% them talking about what a weird episode this was and how they were sure they hadn't said anything funny. The next handful of episodes just got more and more self-deprecating and slow until I stopped listening. It felt like they just didn't like doing the podcast anymore.
  10. Other podcasts

Turns out, broadcasting is a skill! Anyone can have a podcast, but not everyone can make a podcast work.
  11. Neptune's Bountiful Pride: The Sequel

Joined another game purely to figure out the basic mechanics. My approach is not exactly, how do you say, even-handed. This is 45 minutes into the game.
  12. Any characters who are major leaders in games?

Donkey Kong is the leader of the bunch. You know him well. He's finally back to kick some tail. His coconut gun fires in spurts. If he shoots ya, it's gonna hurt. He's bigger, stronger, faster too. He's the first member of the DK crew.
  13. Memory Of A Broken Dimension

Ugh, couldn't be more lost. My complete DOS knowledge was getting Reader Rabbit to run back in 1993. Memory Of A Broken Dimension does not play Reader Rabbit.
  14. Recently completed video games

Finally finished The Walking Dead. I imagine among this crowd I am way way way late to the party, but I have to say: Holy Shit.
  15. Saturday Morning Streams

I was confused as to why Chris was playing '39, which prompted me to look it up on Wikipedia. You learn something new every day. I used to listen to A Night at the Opera A LOT when I was in high school, and always assumed it was about WW2.
  16. Oculus rift

I bought an ASMR simulator off Amazon not too long ago. A+, would recommend.
  17. Oculus rift

Another ASMR question: The wikipedia entry on it describes it almost sexually? Is it the same or connected to sexual stimulation, or completely different? EDIT: I guess that answers it?
  18. Neptune's Bountiful Pride: The Sequel

Super interested in this. Have never played NP before. If that doesn't disqualify me, I'm in.
  19. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

I am probably the only one here who has a stupid obsession with 60's novelty records, but this song just DESTROYS ME. Beyond it's Purple People Eater theme, it just has the weirdest fucking sound.
  20. Divekick almost reminds me of , with the way the game is built around these brief encounters based on very simple mechanics, but the one-hit kill makes defensive play the focus.
  21. It's stuff like that that fascinates me about sports, and why I could never get into them. I know the "rules" of the game but because I could never read a defense, or individually parse out what single players are doing, I know there's a level of drama and excitement that's completely lost to me. My eyes just end up following the ball. I'd love to read more breakdowns of fighting games like that. Stuff that puts things into a context for me.
  22. has always been my favorite because I never had any idea how much of the game was skippable. Also, Lam jumps and that dive out of Maggie Chow's window.
  23. Tetris is the most immersive video game I've ever played. Only one where I can lose sense of the gap between player and game, and just become one with the blocks.
  24. The other thing is that, as straight white males, you have been told that your experience is the default human experience. There's a lot that, to someone of privilege, feels completely gender/race/orientation neutral but actually isn't.
  25. I get where you're coming from, but I think it makes sense to reach a point where this hypothetical (since I don't think anyone here is actually arguing that they should cut all media that doesn't represent them out of their life, and honestly it makes your arguments feel kind of weird and "slippery slope") woman or minority just doesn't want to support an industry that refuses to represent them in any meaningful way.
