  1. Idle Thumbs Readers Slack & Discord

Yeah, it's still active. Unfortunately that link is broken, but if you PM me with your e-mail address I can send you an invite :).
  2. Still newer forum!

    Thanks Doug!
  3. Still newer forum!

Has anyone else encountered problems with reuploading an avatar? I logged in this morning and noticed mine was gone, but it wouldn't let me reupload it. Is the 50kb limit an intended thing? (It also threw up a similar message when i tried importing from URL) Also, thanks for the upgrade, Doug!
  4. Welcome to Wizard Jam 4!

Last year we had an open google doc for diversifier suggestions in the #wizardjam channel. That was then narrowed down to 10 and we used those. We could perhaps do that again?
  5. Welcome to Wizard Jam 4!

Just to loop people in: there's some discussion about this going on right now in the #wizardjam channel of the Thumbs slack.
  6. Welcome to Wizard Jam 4!

Hey @elvaq, the date survey currently only accepts one option.
  7. Hello everyone! There will be another Wizard jam in May. If you're new to the forums, Wizard Jam is the community-run game jam we host twice a year. It's not a competitive jam; the main emphasis is to encourage people to try to try something new, or to try gamedev for the first time. Here are the details: Date: May 7th - 22nd 2016 Theme: Choose an episode title from the Idle Thumbs podcast (or from any podcast on the network!) and use it as your theme prompt. Use this site to get a randomly selected title: http://randomthumbs.danjohnmoran.com/ (Thanks Broxxar, Panzorfork & matt.ishii) Rules: There are no rules! Diversifiers: The diversifiers are an optional challenge for the jam. Choose as many (or as few) as you like and incorporate them into your game. Use this subforum to make development log threads, recruit folks, and chat about development related stuff! There's also the game development subforum and the #wizardjam slack channel. What a nice boy! Congrats undermind9 .
  9. WIZARD JAM 2016 // Welcome Thread

Yeah, there will be an off-season jam this year. We don't have any dates or details yet, but there will almost definitely be something before the end of the year.
  10. Other podcasts

Congrats on 50 episodes Declan! Was really excited to see the Bennett Foddy ep in my podcast feed today.
  11. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Also been enjoying the new Machinedrum track. I'm not super familiar with his output but it was a nice thing to have drop into my soundcloud feed.
  12. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Recently I got introduced to the new Jerry Paper album and I haven't been able to put it down all week. It's a good record that I'd recommend you listen to all the way through if you're into 1960s sounding pop with jazz overtones. It has an Elephant 6 vibe to it which I enjoy too; a few of the tracks feel like they could have been lifted from a lost Olivia Tremor Control album or something. https://jerrypaper.bandcamp.com/album/toon-time-raw
  13. Plug your shit

Yeah this seems like something Jake would be excited by. Good luck with the kickstarter, Jay!
  14. Obduction: Rand Miller & Cyan Worlds Kickstarter

My partner and I played through all of this last week and enjoyed it a lot. I really enjoy how much of the game requires you to think about the makeup and backstory of the world in order to solve puzzles and traverse. I had a lot of cool moments trying things out and being pleasantly surprised to find how internally consistent the whole thing is.
  15. Hitman: Steve Gaynor Edition

Polygon's Nick Robinson recorded an attempt at one of Steve's contracts and pulled off a sub 3min run.
  16. I saw this a few weeks ago and thought it would be good to share here. It's from the guy who made the " " video a few years ago.
  17. Hitman: Steve Gaynor Edition

That seems like less of a "rushed" thing and more of a "limited resources" thing.
  18. Hitman: Steve Gaynor Edition

Yeah, you can search a contract in-game by its ID code now.
  19. Speaking of games that let 8 people play with 4 controllers, Micro Machines V3 (a PS1-era game from 1997) does exactly that and is a blast. I really enjoy games that have this kind of split controller functionality. Push Me Pull You, which came out this year, also has it.
  20. Quick correction: Overcooked is a 1-4 player game. There is no 8 player mode.
  21. ICQ and URU, but who am I?
  22. [Dev Log] Blocks

This looks so cool! I'm enjoying the squashy effects on the tiles.
  23. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

I was just listening to that this morning
  24. Plug your shit

Play it! It's funny and will only take 5-10 minutes of your time. Also, thanks Ben
