I'd actually seen nearly all of these already! I ended up picking The Haunted Palace and watching that before reading this, but maybe tomorrow I'll watch some of the other ones I haven't seen.

The discussion of Sonic the Hedgehog erotica delighted me, because I have a tremendous appreciation for terrible/bewildering fanart, and Sonic fan creations never fail to disappoint (see also: The Lion King, King of the Hill, My Little Pony). I think the single best (worst) thing I've ever discovered on the internet was this Sally Acorn love doll with a hand-carved anatomically correct human skeleton inside of it. God, I can't stop watching this. It's like seeing someone use an augmented reality app on their phone. This film that cost 210 million dollars to make elicits the same level of disbelief from me that I normally reserve for Hatsune Miku dancing on a goddamn pizza box. Ugh. UGH. UGH.

What I've read of Afrodisiac has been great. Also, the first issue of Boom Studios' The Amazing World of Gumball comic is out today, and it looks pretty rad.

I am secretly super pleased to have been the last person to get a "please say 'The Wizard'" email read on-air. My favourite stupid industry bullshit is the stuff that only happens outside of the games themselves and only really gets passed down through journalists, like that Australian news company that had to have their building evacuated and call in a bomb squad because Ubisoft thought it would be fun to send them their review copy of Watch_Dogs in a beeping black metal box.

The Phantom of the Paradise is that kind of 70s era "this is weird and experimental and unpolished" kind of brilliant where I'm not entirely certain if it's good or not, but I think I liked it. It's also unique for being a musical where I absolutely can't remember a single tune or lyric from the whole thing despite just watching it.

The Little Mermaid is basically Faust. Blew my mind.

I have a thing for organizing shit, and ever since I started buying my games digitally I've found a whole new outlet for that. (the Ocarina of Time icon is the cartridge slot)

It's important to learn how to use spears, because the speed they afford is pretty much required for one (admittedly total bullshit) segment near the very end of the game. You also get handed the best spear in the game immediately prior. Either way you should be fine without having to upgrade anything. I don't think I used the upgrade system at all.
