Do the Thumbs have a .moe TLD yet? Because Sean's waifu could use one. I recommend to Chris that he watch the first and third Harry Potter movies solely for the tonal dissonance. The first two films were directed by Chris Columbus of Home Alone and Mrs. Doubtfire fame, while the third was directed by Children of Men's Alfonso Cuarón. It contrasts just as sharply as you'd think. -

Regarding the emails this week, I have two thoughts: 1) I did a complete 180 on the Minecraft LARPing guy. "Really? LARPing? Don't you mean 'playing pretend'? You don't have to apply your nerd shit to oh wait no yeah that is definitely LARPing." 2) 13 year olds listen to this podcast? That's surprising/neat. Horsebag. -

Serious note: did Danielle actually get a bunch of hatemail, or was that just a joke? Because sadly, I'd believe it. -

Tegan's Alien Phun Phacts: the xenomorph figurine from the original Alien movie was the first-ever toy to be based on an R-rated film and suffered a lot of controversy because of it. There was originally a planned Saturday morning cartoon spin off of Aliens called "Operation: Aliens" that was never aired, though a toyline was produced and production stills have been made public. The show was meant as an elaborate way to advertise the R-rated Alien 3 to children, because that's just what you did back then, I guess. I've never seen the Rambo cartoon, but I alway figured it would be like GI Joe with more Columbian Neckties. -

Oh man, Danielle, you need to watch the Assembly Cut of Alien 3. It drastically improves that movie. Go for the version in the Alien Anthology Blu-Ray, since that one has new ADR dialogue while the Alien Quadrilogy DVD doesn't. I bought that set as a birthday gift for myself last year and absolutely love it. -

Yeeeesssssss. Wait, when did it become "things" instead of "games"? -
Obligatory: http://www.objectivegamereviews.com/ I also like: -Giant Bomb: you know what this is. -Tiny Cartridge: weirdass niche handheld site that caters to my love of Nintendo handhelds and silly reporting. -GoNintendo: obsessively covers in great detail any and all games for Nintendo hardware, including stuff that absolutely nobody cares about (a buttload of really awful budget eshop releases) and games that clearly aren't actually coming to Nintendo consoles (Watch_Dogs). Generally good otherwise. -USGamer: the current home of Jeremy Parish, who is a really cool dude who's been writing about games for a long time. -Serebii: gaze into the depths of intense Pokémon news reporting and webpage design that hasn't been updated since 1999.

Forget the Wii U Gamecube adapter, this guy built a 2DS Gamecube adapter: You can't tell in the video, but it's basically just a circuit board hanging out of the back with a Gamecube controller socket attached.

https://www.humblebundle.com/books'>There's a Humble Bundle on Boom Studios comics right now, and the $15+ tier includes the entire run of The Midas Flesh and all current issues of Lumberjanes, among others.

The neighbourhood is a planned community built by Lex Luthor that Superman was attending the opening ceremony for, and Lex was specifically counting on Superman to flip out and smash everything to create a PR nightmare. It's the only fight in the series with such extensive property damage, and they came up with the perfect reasoning behind it. Superman's whole deal in the DCAU is pretty much that he doesn't want any Man of Steel style fights, as exemplified by his speech to Darkseid in the Justice League Unlimited finale:
-
I love that fight.
-
Shazam, motherfucker!
-
hey small businessman
-
I'm a stupid jackass because all I can think of for this whole debate is that one episode of Justice League where Captain Marvel endorses Lex Luthor's presidential candidacy and gets chewed out by Superman.

I secretly resent the Hulu Plus reads because Hulu isn't available in Canada. OnO

I hatched a second shiny Feebas! This one has a 0 in Special Attack! Why does Junichi Masuda hate me?
-
Idle Fists.
-
Feebas is cool though! It's like Magikarp, except instead of evolving into a physical attack-focused super masculine water serpent, it evolves into a special defense-focused super feminine water serpent!

I'm in the "the WoT ad read was weird and incongruous to me" camp. The Lootcrate read happened right around the time someone bought Ashens a subscription to LootCrate, so within the span of a week or so I had heard the Thumbs promoting it and seen firsthand that all the merchandise you get is actually kind of crappy.

Admittedly, it wouldn't really help. I make less than five bucks off of everything in the store and I can't even withdraw that through Paypal unless I make at least ten.
