Zeus, you have you own house, right? Is this a dedicated media room that you could potentially soundproof? I have the same problem. I hate watching modern action movies because everybody talks in low, gravely voices so that I have to turn up the volume, but explosions are so incredibly loud that I have to turn it down. The same goes for the shotgun in Spelunky. I frequently play that game with the music down but the effects up so that I can listen to podcasts while still being able to hear where the dog is hiding, but that shotgun is so damn loud

I listen to 'casts while playing Spelunky, Animal Crossing, grinding or hatching eggs in Pokémon, or replaying narratively-driven games that I've already played at least once before (ie: I get an urge about once a year to replay Metroid Other M and end up listening to old podcasts every time).

One last really stupid thing I wanted to mention, regarding Jake's Luigi spin-off house party thing. Has anyone else here ever seen the theatrical Mickey Mouse short "Runaway Brain," from like 1995 or so? It was an attempt to use Mickey Mouse in a darker, weirder, edgier story than usual. It was Disney's first classic-style theatrical cartoon short in decades and then they never did one again until something like a year ago. It's so nuts that people took the ex at face value when the combination of "anonymous 4chan post" and "ex-boyfriend" is maybe the least reliable source possible (and was at least partially proven to be demonstrably false, as stated on the podcast). I mean, I consider myself pretty honest, and even I think you probably shouldn't take anything that I say about my ex at face value. Also, while I appreciate you guys talking about the whole thing head-on*, even if it means we now have at least three threads on here about this. *I'm honestly a bit sad that the Bombcast hasn't. I know they're not obligated to by any means, and probably don't feel like walking into a minefield like that, but Giant Bomb was founded to escape actual journalistic corruption. I feel like maybe that confers a certain social responsibility. On the other hand...

Two things I just wanted to mention: 1) Batman punches the shit out of Bane, but he's only finally defeated -appropriately enough- by Catwoman. 2) I'm a bit too young for the Donkey Kong VHS (I remember it but never saw it), but I totally had the same experience that Jake did because I watched the DVD of the Twilight Princess trailer that came with issue 193 of Nintendo Power like a hundred fucking times in one day. It's so weird to think that there was a time before internet video streaming, where it was financially reasonable to produce thousands and thousands of tapes and mail them out to people in the hopes that they would be interested in the product.

I'm more baffled by her being British.

Beyonce appeared at an awards show or a concert or something a few nights ago with "FEMINIST" in huge bold impact light-up text behind her. You can still see it in the reflection on the stage.

It's both true and truly disappointing that bisexuality gets such a weirdly negative reception from the LGBT community. It's sort of baffling. Trans people get totally shat on fairly often, too.
