  1. I can't believe people are still coming here and complaining about this shit when it's been definitively, empirically proven that all of this was a stunt pulled by a handful of misogynist assholes to trick people into making idiots out of themselves on their behalf.
  2. Cartoons!

Wakfu is finally coming to the English-speaking world via Netflix! Yessssssss. Also, while I'm all for 2D animation coming back, that IndieGogo film looks like the bland uninspired stuff that eventually killed it.
  3. It's weird how you never see the term "freeware" used anymore. I know I only associate it with early nineties DOS games, by which I mean I associate it with Pharaoh's Tomb.
  4. Cartoons!

I watched it! So good. Glad to know that Bill's still around, too.
  5. It was a deliberate design flaw. The NES was redesigned for North America to look and feel like a VCR rather than a game console, hence the additional unnecessary step of pushing the cartridge down.
  6. The attention to detail in these is staggering.
  7. Nintendo 3DS

For anyone else still playing, there will be distribution events for shiny Gengar (why do they keep giving away the shinies that I've already bred?) and Diancie at Gamestop next month. Apparently you have to actually go in and get a code card thing. I miss just being able to sit in the display furniture in the mall and download event Pokémon from the EB Games across the hallway.
  8. Ello.co

Twitter et al are for chumps.
  9. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

Kayin of I Wanna Be The Guy fame weighs in.
  10. Happy Birthday!

    Happy birthday to SecretAsianMan!
  11. Fierce Diety Link and Alph are alt models for Link and Olimar, respectively. Also, Diddy Kong has an alternate Dixie Kong pallet that I will never see because I refuse to dignify Diddy Kong by playing as him.
  12. What is the Nadir of the Simpsons?

That's the episode where Homer gets raped by a panda, right? If so, that's definitely a low point.
  13. QUILTBAG Thread of Flagrant Homoeroticism

Yeah, seriously. It's not like they're any less valid terms because of where they come from or who came up with them. "Heterosexual" is less than 150 years old and was invented by a journalist. The vocabulary of sexuality isn't like some nightclub that goes to pieces once you let all the riffraff in. Oh, also, congrats Lizzy. OuO
  14. Wizaaaaaards!!

I see you had your camera set to "magic eye picture."
  15. What is the Nadir of the Simpsons?

"Homer's Enemy" is notable because Homer is genuinely trying to be a good person undone by his own incompetence right up until the end of the episode, where he shamelessly falls asleep during poor Grimey's funeral.
  16. What is the Nadir of the Simpsons?

The best thing about going back to old Simpsons episodes is discovering jokes that you never would have noticed or understood the first time you watched them. I never got the joke behind the Flaming Homer/Flaming Moe until I was like 22. Also, the way they would ruthlessly make fun of their guest stars instead of kissing their ass. I have an immense amount of respect for Harvey Fierstein for refusing to reprise his role as Karl for "Three Gays of the Condor" because he felt the script was so poor and that his character's involvement was just fanservice unnecessary to the plot.
  17. What is the Nadir of the Simpsons?

Early Homer was also smart enough to respect other people's feelings, which is something he just doesn't do anymore. Also, for what it's worth, I watch the DVD sets religiously. I have seasons 1-9 and never intend to buy anything past that.
  18. What is the Nadir of the Simpsons?

The new intro is just depressing. I really hate the way they do couch gags now. Remember this one here? The reason they started using this unusually long couch gag in season 4 was because episodes would sometimes come short of the target time and they'd need to find a way to fill out the time without having to make changes to the episode. Now every single couch gag is a single crummy joke that takes a full minute to tell. Instead of feeling special, it's just a way to make up for increasingly shorter and thinner episodes with what is essentially -as Strong Bad once put it- "a commercial for something you're already watching."
  19. What is the Nadir of the Simpsons?

I knew exactly what this would be before I even clicked on it.
  20. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

The failure to discover any actual corruption is because the intent was never to find any to begin with, along with deliberate misdirection as to where that corruption might lie.
  21. I started playing Burnout Paradise. It's pretty neat! However... "Man, what's with this soundtrack? It's all like late nineties nu-metal and butt rock or something." "HEY HEY YOU YOU I DON'T LIKE YOUR GIRLFRIEND" "Okay, back on board." (I turned off every track except for all the classical music, a handful of okay songs, and the above inexplicable inclusion)
  22. Feminism

There's a term for it. Or in this case, there's two.
