  1. The Corny AMV/VGMV Thread to Ruin Everything

I've descended into the world of Simpsons AMVs. God help up all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1Qcx_RuQWw I think I should probably take a break from this thread for a while.
  2. The Corny AMV/VGMV Thread to Ruin Everything

Mildly NSFW. Most of the footage in this one is taken from a commercial for Internet Explorer.
  3. The Corny AMV/VGMV Thread to Ruin Everything

I wish we could embed Dailymotion videos so bad.
  4. The Corny AMV/VGMV Thread to Ruin Everything

    I'm counting this.
  5. The Corny AMV/VGMV Thread to Ruin Everything

Kinda NSFW, lot of rape mentions in the last few seconds.
  6. The Corny AMV/VGMV Thread to Ruin Everything

Fuck, normally I'm all about terrible shit, but there are so many crappy AMVs out there that I'd rather just post legitimately good ones. Just imagine I posted a bunch of Linkin Park AMVs with that Windows Movie Maker rainbow effect applied to everything.

  8. I Had A Random Thought...

You guys deserve a palette cleanser after that.
  9. Feminism

So in other DC Comics news, DC was going to release a wildly inappropriate "Killing Joke"-inspired variant cover for their ongoing Batgirl series, which has been bringing in new crowds by trying to be more fun and aimed at younger female audiences instead of older male ones. Flash forward three days and DC pulls the cover because for some reason a lot of controversy has erupted over DC promoting its book using a cover based on a story where their fun feminist heroine gets stripped naked and permanently paralyzed. DC retracts the cover, citing "threats of violence," but neglects to mention that the threats of violence it referred to weren't against the creator, but against the people who objected to the cover, because of course they fucking were. It's also become clear that the creative team, including the guy who drew the cover, weren't happy with it, with rumour being that DC pushed to make it much worse than it originally was. DC somehow managed to turn doing the right thing (eventually) into an excercise in idiocy, because I guess that's just what they do now.
  10. Kojima to leave Konami after MGS V

Kojima to be replaced by Swedish game designer Joakim Mogren.
  11. Nintendo announces mobile deal with DeNA

Pokémon Shuffle passed one million downloads in just ten days, before they started forcing it onto your system via Spotpass. Nintendo absolutely wants some of that free-to-play action.
  12. Nintendo announces mobile deal with DeNA

The first NES game to receive an official iOS port will be Urban Champion, I fucking guarantee it.
  13. I like how none of the thumbs picked up on that mom calling her kid a mistake.
  14. Nintendo announces mobile deal with DeNA

Guys, what if this whole thing turns out to be like when they said they would release DS games on Wii U. They make one Japan-only cell phone game and then go back to business as usual.
  15. Nintendo announces mobile deal with DeNA

Yeah, I'm not sure where the "Pokémon isn't relevant to kids" thing is coming from. Pokémon is the second-best selling video game franchise of all time after Mario, and it likely makes more money than any other game-central franchise in the world given how much merchandise there is.
  16. Shoulda listened to you, Male student.
  17. Man, I forgot how insufferable the camping trip in Persona 4 is. Not giving the player any option but to put up with or encourage Brosuke's casual homophobia and sexism is just the worst, and I really detest how they designed and wrote Hanako as being both incongruously grotesque and completely deserving of all the crap that happens to her. The whole bit is this huge spike of immaturity in an otherwise remarkably mature game. The worst part is that all I got for it was one lousy Expression bonus.
  18. Nintendo announces mobile deal with DeNA

Pokémon as a trademark is joint-owned by Nintendo, Creatures, and Game Freak; which is why there's legit Pokémon iOS apps and Pokémon games on the Sega Pico, but the main games stay exclusive to Nintendo hardware. That iOS Pokédex app was developed by Creatures and published by Nintendo, so it's as Nintendo Proper as it comes (also worth noting: it's virtually identical to the 3DS app except that the 3DS one is fifteen bucks up-front and includes everything from the get-go)
  19. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

As someone who used to lurk and infrequently post on 4chan, the way that the community moderates itself is remarkably cultish: it values uniformity above all else, even if the template to aspire to is reprehensible; and you don't know how fucked up your behaviour is is until you leave. (for anyone who's curious, I used to frequent /co/ and /v/ semi-regularly and eventually worked down to just checking into /vp/ and the porn boards now and then before leaving for good around the time this whole thing started)
  20. One of my favourite things in any Quick Look is when everyone starts yelling "WHOAAAA" in unison, and the point in the FFXV demo QL where the framerate dips into the single-digits totally had that.
  21. I think this is Frog Fractions 2. (NSFW)
  22. Nintendo announces mobile deal with DeNA

There's been one since 2012. It costs $26 if you actually want every Pokémon to be in it, you have to put in a password to see Meloetta or Genesect's data, and it was never updated to include Gen VI Pokémon after X and Y launched. The thing about Game Freak and Creatures, Inc. is that they're not particularly good developers, they just happen to make one very good game.
  23. Nintendo announces mobile deal with DeNA

I don't think we'll be getting anything less than A-tier Nintendo IPs on mobile, but with their mechanics replaced with ones that work better on those devices. basically The only A-tier Nintendo IP I can see coming to mobile and retaining a semblance of its original form are Pokémon and Animal Crossing, and I don't trust them to not turn those into exploitative freemium games to survive in a mobile market.
