I used to be pretty big on the idea of having physical cartridges of everything, but I've really come around on digital games lately. I really like the idea of having an always-available digital library and never having to worry about losing cartridges, and the "but digital games won't last forever like cartridges" idea seems silly to me now. Everything ends eventually. Even CDs and cartridges have a limited shelf life. But I feel like those licenses are probably going to be renewed so frequently that it's hard to care about how they'll eventually go away.

My money finally came in! I'm rich! Rich, I tells ya!

I don't use drugs or alcohol, period, but now I really want some (non-pot-filled) brownies.

It's almost noon and there's still no sign of the insurance money. I'm not looking forward to having to tell my landlord that I don't have money when I said I would. Again.

The saddest part is that it's actually demonstrably working. I would be all up in arms about this, but then I remembered that I haven't actually rented a game since I worked at Blockbuster, and even then I barely rented them. I think game rentals are kind of dead.

Kitchen Nightmares update: This has been an amazing experience.

So starting this Saturday, Pokémon Smash will be presenting X and Y info every week until the game comes out. It won't necessarily always be new info, but it's promising. Also, there's going to be an X and Y roundtable Q&A session with Junichi Masuda and Tsunekazu Ishihara at E3 on the eleventh, right after a Nintendo Direct (and thus presumably livestreamed maybe). I go into Toys R Us occasionally to browse Lego and video games. Their game selection is better than dedicated game stores tend to be and their Lego is incredibly expensive. This is the extent of my knowledge.

I hear 30 is the new 20. I really hope it is, because I deffo don't feel like an adult.

Because I have not owned money in quite some time, I completely failed to realize that Canada is finally completing the set of sweet new Blade Runner money they started introducing a while back, and the new five is possibly the greatest single piece of currency ever designed. Because space.

I haven't caught 'em all since Gen III, and I'm suddenly hooked on the notion of doing so this time around. At the very least, I'd like to fill my regional dex. I'm not really cheating, either. The game gives you a "Habitat Mode" for the Pokédex. You can check what monsters are available in each route/cave/whatever, so you know when to stop bumming around one spot. I'm mostly using Bulbapedia because the Habitat Mode doesn't specify if you have to be checking rustling grass, etc. Also, I don't really do EV/IV/Nature stuff, though I do try to breed for desirable moves. I don't get enough multiplayer in, though. Anyone interested in an Idle Thumbs Casual Pokémon League thing?

I've been trying to fill out my Pokédex in the last few days by checking encounter rates on Bulbapedia, which has been a godsend.
