I like it when the Thumbs discuss terrible names. I was a little disappointed that after devoting so much time to mocking Rayman Origins they never once made fun of the sequel being called Rayman Legends.

I didn't get much out of the Wii version of Animal Crossing when I played that, but that experience might have been coloured by some terrible things that were going on in my life that directly influenced the game, and everyone's all up in my business about how this is apparently by far the best version and allegedly fixes all of the things that I disliked previously. HMMMMMM

I owe like fifty percent of this playthrough to things that were spoiled by Chris and Jake playing it on Twitch (a video which I didn't realize existed until yesterday), because I am terrible at Adventure games.

Cartridge games save to the cartridge. If you want to change SD cards, you only have to copy the files over on your computer. You can redownload to any SD card as long as the 3DS is considered the same one that you originally downloaded them to.

Every time the Thumbs talk about Proteus, I always hear it as "Parodius" due to glottal stop shenanigans. Since I didn't actually know about Proteus for the longest time, I kept wondering why they were getting so much insight from that Konami shmup with the Moai heads. SACRED BOND.

It rained all day and I couldn't get outside long enough to get a decent amount of activity on my Pokéwalker. Instead I constructed an elaborate cheating device. You just keep pressing down on the pedal thing on the left and the arm moves in a walking motion. I've reinforced the axle since taking that photo so that it doesn't bend anymore. If I had more parts I would try to automate it or make it look a little more attractive.

You would love Xenoblade. Seriously. It's the only time I've ever had an emergent gameplay moment in a JRPG; when a small, underleveled monster that I hadn't bothered to kill earlier got chased halfway across the area by a level 99 T-Rex thing and led it straight to where I was.

You know, Nintendo has deliberately gone out of their way to make the Pokémon Hypno into the creepiest motherfucker. From Pokémon FireRed: ...and from the TCG: And here's an official t-shirt design (Sleeper is Hypno's Japanese name. 97 is its Pokédex number): Also there's a bit in FireRed and LeafGreen where you have to find a little girl who followed a Hypno into the woods. The continued child molestation vibe that they deliberately give to an already unsettling character is not the kind of thing I normally associate Nintendo with.
