side note: I can't believe America got Don't Ask Don't Tell out of the military before they got it out of the fucking boy scouts.

Nintendo trengthens internal development studios; makes another Chibi-Robo game. And it releases in Japan RIGHT NOW! And it's based on AR functionality! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=NyIUiyxgFAg I am legitimately excited!

I woke up at 2am and never got to sleep again. x__x

They're short stories. I've never seen them in print anymore, but I'm pretty sure they're available online legally since Pratchett's such a big internet guy.

In the post-Kickstarter episodes, there's a string of like fifteen episodes in a row where Jake makes a joke about what the episode title will be, and is never once correct.
-
But the joke in that case was that they went with the entire list as a single phrase rather than any of the individual potential titles.

I'd just like to say, I love that literally the first thing that happens is a turret sequence. And then a quicktime event! It's like they wanted you to know within thirty seconds of booting that the game was going to be awful. Also: the complete lack of music and sound.

I feel physically ill for having watched that entire thing. ...Lotta' construction on those roads.

Get Super Mario 3D Land for sure. There's a bunch of really good games on sale on amazon right now, and I hear Kid Icarus is really something. You could grab a handful of eshop games as well, like Pushmo or some Virtual Console stuff.

Happy Canada Day! It turns out that not using a tripod and turning the camera sideways while using fireworks mode gives some really damned weird shots, but still. Also, I realized I only showed a winter view before. Here's some springtime sunset shots from my window from a few weeks back. I should take some summer pics.

Finished Men at Arms today. Good stuff! Yesterday I preemptively picked up The Fifth Elephant since I knew I only had half a book or so left at the time, thinking it was the next unread book in the Watch series. Looks like Jingo's the actual next one, but oh well.

The greatest peripheral since the Nintendo Horsebag:

Aside: is this the first time that someone's made a joke about what the episode title will be but then actually used that as the title of the episode?

Guys guys guys! Retronauts is back! New episodes start today!

hypothesis: the entrance of every cracker barrel leads to the same cracker barrel interior if you knock down the walls it's like the wizard's cottage in howl's moving castle
-
Do we have a video game music thread? Because this needs to be in it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=d0zaLMVE8Zw

Cracker Barrel's name is hilarious to me, because only white people like Cracker Barrel. (I don't think we have Cracker Barrel here, though there is a potentially unrelated brand of cheese with the same name)

IIRC, chars only spawn in the small basin of calm seawater just under the waterfall. They're only around from 4am-9am and 4am-9pm, and today is actually the last day to catch one until September.

I think it's a moderately popular Canadian thing that has more of a cult following in other countries, like The Red Green Show or Kids in the Hall or something. Also, I was just about to suspend my Netflix subscription when I get to their website and see that they have Disney movies now. Well fuck.

I got it to work fine, but for a period of about thirty seconds I had no internet connection and it was terrifying. Also, I believe the Best Buy gift changes to the cat tower tomorrow and the monthly downloadable gift changes to the palm tree lamp the day after that. So act fast!

Cleaning my apartment today; so far have found 25 empty 1-liter Brisk Iced Tea bottles stored in various cupboards. What is my life.

Don't forget Snuckey's and their pecan candy barely being a parody.

Oh man, Corner Gas. The Littlest Yarbo was always my favourite one, but I'm not sure if the central joke still works outside of Canada.
