Archie is very nostalgic for me. It's very campy and inoffensive with only the occasionally really great story, but there's so much of it that you're bound to enjoy some of it. However, I unabashedly recommend the Afterlife With Archie spin-off. It may require a little familiarity with the characters to appreciate its full impact, but it's genuinely the best zombie story I've ever read/seen.

Probably? It's still on every magazine rack at every grocery store ever, which is more than I can say for pretty much any other comic.

Anyone remember when Jake put up the episode threads on time? (I'm just ribbin' ya, Jake) (or Chris sometimes)

With regard to Shearer leaving: I always figured that someone at Fox probably has contact info for the best known imitators of every character just in case a major cast member quit or died and they couldn't write them out of the show like they did with Maude and Mrs. Krabapple. I also expect that Shearer's replacements will be unlikely to insert themselves into a cast that's been performing together for nearly three decades without some serious tension, which could very easily tear the show apart from the inside.

Wake Me Up Before You IndieGoGo: A Crowdfunding Thread
tegan replied to tegan's topic in Idle Banter
Archie Comics is relaunching Archie this summer, and wants you to help fund other relaunches: a Kevin Keller comic by Dan Parent (neat), a Betty and Veronica comic by Adam Hughes (cool), and a Jughead comic by Chip Zdarsky (WHAT). -
Hey guys, I'm doing my spring cleaning and decided to finally take the plunge and ditch as much of my physical media as I can. I'm still hard up for cash and the local resellers don't pay much, so I figured it would benefit everyone involved if I gave you guys first dibs. All items are Region 1/NTSC, mostly bought in Canada. Everything will be shipping from Atlantic Canada. Shipping is a flat $10 within North America, which is about what it costs to ship a single DVD within the continent. Buy more stuff, save more on shipping! Items will be sent at the lowest priority shipping speed. If you want to buy internationally, I'll figure out the shipping and charge you the exact amount. Condition ranges from "good" (some of the DVDs were formal rentals or bought used) to "excellent" (basically everything else). None of the discs are scratched and nearly all the BRs have cardboard slipcases. The worst you can expect for most of them is that some of the spines are faded, with the sole exception of the Batman: The Animated Series set, which sadly got knocked off a shelf when I left a window open during a rainstorm. The booklet is water-damaged and one of the plastic cases is broken, but all the discs work fine. PM me if you wanna buy something. I'll be striking stuff out as it gets claimed. Blu-Rays ($10 unless otherwise specified): -The Dark Knight Trilogy (5-disc set with booklet, $25) -Avatar (3-disc set, the big extended collector's edition thing, $15) -Life (the 2009 BBC natural history series with narration by David Attenborough, $20) -Planet Earth ($20) -Futurama Volume 5 ($15) -Futurama Volume 6 ($15) -Adventure Time Season 1 ($15) -Adventure Time Season 2 ($15) -Adventure Time Season 3 ($15) -Dracula (1931) -Frankenstein (1931) -The Bride of Frankenstein -The Wolf Man (1941) -The Mummy (1932) -The Invisible Man -The Creature From the Black Lagoon -Summer Wars -Redline (2009) -The Animatrix (this is actually the slim-case version, a friend of mine bought the movie boxed set and gave me this one disc because he didn't want it. $5) -Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind -Tron Legacy -Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 -The Incredibles -Wreck-It Ralph -Scott Pilgrim vs the World -Shaun of the Dead -Ghostbusters -Speed Racer DVDs ($5 unless otherwise specified): -The Simpsons Season 1 ($10) -The Simpsons Season 2 ($10) -The Simpsons Season 3 ($10) -The Simpsons Season 4 ($10) -The Simpsons Season 5 ($10) -The Simpsons Season 6 ($10) -The Simpsons Season 7 ($10) -The Simpsons Season 8 ($10) -The Simpsons Season 9 ($10) -Futurama Season 1 ($10) -Futurama Season 2 ($10) -Futurama Season 3 ($10) -Futurama Season 4 ($10) -Clone High: The Complete Series ($10) -Osamu Tezuka's Phoenix: Endless Fables of Resurrection ($10) -Batman: The Complete Animated Series (damaged, as detailed above, $10) -Princess Mononoke -Pom Poko -Kiki's Delivery Service -My Neightbours the Yamadas -Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro -Jungle Emperor Leo -Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis (no slipcase) -The Iron Giant Games: -Ocarina of Time 3D (3DS, $20) -Super Mario 3D World (3DS, $20) -Bit.Trip Saga (3DS, $5) -Paper Mario: Sticker Star (3DS, $20) -Mega Man Anniversary Collection (Xbox, $10) -Taito Legends volume 1 (Xbox, $5) -Outrun 2006 (Xbox, $5) -Persona 3 FES (PS2, $10) -Persona 4 (PS2, $10) -Okami (PS2, $5) -Space Channel 5: Special Edition (PS2, $5) -LittleBigPlanet (PS3, Game of the Year Edition, $15) -Modnation Racers (PS3, $15) -Viewtiful Joe 2 (Gamecube, $5) -Muramasa: The Demon Blade (Wii, $10) -Punch-Out!! (Everything about Donkey Kong has been terrible ever since Rare ruined his design)

I took Electroplankton off for now. I was pricing it low because every part of it is on DSiware.

Gonna add on top of this: I think what's making this stand out to me is how fucking video gamey it is. There's this bit, the frequent reusal of character models (that's the same guy!), the NPC AI that doesn't react at all to your dude Cirque du Soleiling his way across the environment murdering dudes... it's a showcase of all the shit that takes me out of every other video game.

My favourite bit is where he drops the pallet of barrels near a guy who then ragdolls himself to death.

The demo (PS+) version of Driveclub still isn't even on the store. That game came out eight months ago.

Also, holy shit, the audacity of ending your reveal trailer with an ad for pre-order DLC. Normally that stuff doesn't both me so much, but I feel it speaks volumes about Ubisoft if one of the first things they want people to know about the game is that it has pre-order DLC. Do they usually announce that kind of thing so early?

Considering how fast they make these things, I'd be amazed if they had the time to even see how feedback is on the previous game; they were probably pretty deep in development on this one by the time Unity came out.

Updated the original post with a couple of DVDs and games I forgot.

So as some of you likely know, I'm currently in a kind of lousy-ish situation: I'm living in Moncton with no job and no jobs have been popping up that I'm qualified for. Virtually everything entry-level is biilingual-only, requires heavy lifting that I can't do, or is a call center job (and my last call center job was a huge disaster that not only made me miserable, but ended up putting me into debt faster than I could make money). So after deliberating on it for a long time, I've decided to finally take the plunge and move out of New Brunswick, to Halifax. I've been making good, but inconsistent money taking commissions, but I want a "real" job to supplement that with a more stable income. Halifax is a much nicer, bigger city with much fewer bilingual requirements, more varied entry-level jobs, and a higher minimum wage. I really want this, but moving is expensive, I don't have much to my name, and my only friend in Moncton who can help me move is going to be moving to Germany in May. I'm currently seeing what the government can do to help me financially, but time is of the essence. This isn't the first time I've asked you guys for money and I hate doing it every time, but I'm willing to offer compensation in the form of artwork if anyone wants to take advantage of the offer and is willing to wait a little due to moving time and the queue (though, naturally, just straight-up donations are also very much appreciated). Hopefully you guys can help me make the best of an increasingly desperate situation. Paypal is teganrobichaud at gmail or letsdrawvideo games at gmail for commissions (remember to specify that you won't need anything shipped since it's my drawings are digital goods). The account was set up by a relative so it won't show my name, but I assure you it goes to me.

Use teganrobichaud at gmail. It all goes into the same account, I just want to keep it seperate from my business. Just send me a PM with your name, address, and what you want so I'll remember.

It got featured on GoNintendo this morning. I'm gonna be really pleased if this one random Wizard Jam game ends up eclipsing the entire event.

I was looking through some old Bbcasts today and it turns out Giant Bomb predicted this shit years ago.

I agree, but this is probably not a comparison that inspires confidence.

I want a whole bunch of those robot butterflies.
