Monster Fighters was one of my favourite lines! I bough the hearse for myself ages ago (the second car I did uses a lot of parts from it specifically), but I could never afford the haunted house, which was the one I really wanted. You mean JP? JP's Trans Am was the chief inspiration for the model, and was also specifically why I game the driver the closest thing to a sweet pompadour that Lego makes.

Wait, what? The first episodes are a little rough, but I have no idea what you're getting at with this statement. (incidentally, the strongest episode so far is "Tiger Millionaire," which you should probably watch)

Osmosich, you should read recently-started print comic Lumberjanes. It's cowritten by Noelle Stevenson of Nimona fame and involves cool girls punching paranormal things.

I had to go into a location because I had to file back taxes and didn't have one of my T4s from then and generally don't know anything about tax stuff. It cost me something like $270 just for their services. I considered killing myself right then and there.

I went to H&R Block to have my taxes done today. I make so little money, but I still owe the government. I need to pay for the H&R Blcok service too, so I have to pay like three hundred bucks. Everything is terrible. Apparently I'll start receiving GST cheques again at least.

Pokémon and Super Mario 3D Land were the two biggest 3DS games for me that aren't on your list. I want to recommend Paper Mario since there's a lot of RPGs on that list, but it's not nearly as good as classic Paper Mario. The best part of the Layton games is that the reasonable explanation is always somehow even less believable than magic.

So it just occurred to me tonight: there was a remake of House on Haunted Hill. Someone, in 1999, saw fit to produce a modern version of a horror movie in which this scene serves as the climax:

So last night and this morning I decided to make awesome little cars! Driver McFastington and his trusty mechanic in front of his slick yellow racing machine. He can actually get in, though you have to swing the roof up and remove a few part temporarily. I'd like to make the mechanism a little bit smoother but I'd need a weird-angled brick to make it work. This was my first real, proper, wheeled car build since I was maybe eight, so I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. It's even in scale with modern minifig-scale City vehicles made by Lego themselves. Next is Dirty Dick Dastardly and his parole officer next to the Murdermobile, with non-regulation spiked front and rear bumpers and deployable kneecappers in all four wheels. I'm really pleased with how the cockpit on this one opens up. Other small details: it has bars on the front instead of a windshield and the rear wheels are exactly 1/3 of a brick shorter than the front, which gives the whole thing a slightly sloped, more intimidating look that I really like. There's one part in the wrong colour, but it's barely noticeable, and I'd like to replace the rear axle pieces with something slightly less wobbly. Overall I really like the result. So that was fun! Maybe I'll make more later. VROOM!

One thing I forgot to mention: I appreciate that Sean also dislikes The Avengers, for the same reasons I do. One of the things I hate most about superhero comics is that everything is a goddamned crossover, and the idea of having to watch a half-dozen other movies in order to make sense of it is not an appealing factor for me. It's particularly annoying that it ties so heavily into Thor, which was an outright terrible film.
