I'm sort of considering trading in my physical copy of Pikmin 3 for store credit, using it on an eshop card, buying MK8 with it, and using the free game to get a digital copy of Pikmin3 instead. This would be an incredibly dumb idea. Please help me.

By the way, for anyone who hasn't noticed it yet, both Rick and Morty are played by the same voice actor who plays Lemongrab from Adventure Time.

Not Andy Serkis? They announced just recently that they were declaring the entire Star Wars expanded universe non-canon so that they could just ignore it and focus on making a movie, but I hope that to make up for it they decide to make this canon instead.

Let's all just be thankful that Rick and Morty doesn't still look like the original incredibly NSFW short.

I bought my ticket to the East Coast Comic Expo today. Still don't know how I'm getting there, but there's no backing out now! I also bought a book that I wanna' get Kate Leth to sign. She is neat. OuO

You may even be able to just swap the HDD into a new PS3 if the drive itself is okay.

So I started watching Sakura Trick. I feel like this show is a two steps forward, one step back sort of deal. I got into it because I read that it was refreshingly open about including gay characters, but that's kind of... not really? The first thing I noticed is that, besides being kind of a serviceable bog-standard school comedy deal, it's super male gazey. Not as overtly so as other series, but it's still pretty shamelessly meant with the interests of a male audience in mind. The opening has boob jiggle, there's loads and loads of chaste but needless shots of characters' breasts, hips, etc. for no reason; everyone has the weird modern anime figure with thigh gaps and pigeon-toed stances; and most disconcertingly and frustratingly of all, the show is in absolute vehement denial to the idea that any of its characters are gay. One argument I always hate having with people is the one concerning what I'll refer to here as the Dumbledore Conundrum: the idea that gay characters should never address their sexuality. It always becomes this weird strawman situation where the character is supposed to either be overtly sexual or never ever mention their gender preferences. It's dumb. Really dumb. And crappy writing, to boot. Dumbledore is an example that comes up a lot because there was "never a good time" to bring it up in 4000+ pages of literature, never mind that Dumbledore was outed in the first place because one of the movie scripts found a place to bring his sexuality up casually and Rowling had to fix it. Ugh. Sorry to rant like that, but it's entirely relevant to my biggest problem with the show: everyone kisses a lot, everyone makes out a little, everyone is "good friends." Every single situation where the characters could and should confirm that, yes, they are in a romantic relationship, there's a big "THE FRIENDSHIP THAT WE SHARE IS VERY SPECIAL #NOHOMO," like the characters are very transparently being written as "don't worry straight dudes, these girls still totally want to have sex with you." It's infuriating, it's shoddy writing, and it's insulting to everyone involved. teg-rating: 7.5/5 tsunderes

The four Thumbsketeers plus one guest should stream some of the five-player Nintendo Land games on Jake's Wii U. Or Pikmin 3.

I'm pretty sure that despite keeping a similar chassis, the inner workings of ASIMO have undergone radical changes since it was first developed. It's pretty wild that they're letting it run around at full tilt and interact with people in real time now when it used to famously screw up during preplanned presentations.

Idle Thumbs 155: The Satisfaction of a Job Well Done
tegan replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
By the way, since the Thumbs liked the Hitman Go boardgame motif, they might enjoy Crimson Shroud, the 3DS game where everything is a tabletop miniature and the action is dictated by rolling virtual dice. It's like seven bucks in the eshop. -
Sadly I had to accept that I couldn't finish the robot due to a lack of pieces, and started to scrap it for parts.

Man, you guys are not at all equipped to deal with the depths of deviantart if Sonic mpreg is squicking you out. That perspective always ruins it for me. -
Santa Claus isn't real and dogs only lick you for your skin's salt content.

You already know this because I've brought this up to you before in chat, but Dan Savage once responded to a woman who had written in about her MTF ex-partner and how she was worried about their transition embarrassing their son. Savage responded by calling her a "selfish, stupid tranny" who should have waited to "cut his dick off." Note that apart from using slurs and being needlessly assholeish about the whole thing, this also boils down to Savage telling someone that it's selfish to receive mental health treatment if it's embarrassing to one's family, which is fucking terrible advice (almost as terrible as the time he told a guy to drug his wife so he could rape her while she slept!). Seriously though, fuck Dan Savage.

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but AM2R has become sort of a joke in the Metroid community by now. This dude's been working on the project for six years now with no end in sight. It's probably never getting a proper release. Note that the latest demo version was released on Christmas Eve, 2012.

Idle Thumbs 155: The Satisfaction of a Job Well Done
tegan replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
The robot also played soccer with Obama! Sean is already being replaced. Fuck everything else in this episode, I'm gonna' talk about Happy Meal toys. I believe the Land Before Time toys Jake mentioned actually came from Pizza Hut, not McDonalds. Personally my jam was the collection of toys based on the 1999 Inspector Gadget movie, of all things. It was a set of 8 pieces of Inspector Gadget's body that all did different things: one arm was a squirt gun, one leg was a flashlight, etc. I painstakingly hunted them all down (even ordering a few directly from McDonalds when they were discontinued) and put them all together to make this cool guy: And yes, McDonalds still gives out toys. A few years back when I still visited 4chan regularly, I remember seeing a lot of threads on /co/ about Happy Meal toys. This was back when My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was just beginning to build interest and there were no official toys yet. McDonalds released their own Happy Meal toys for the show and bronies telling stories about how they would go through the drive-through and order a Happy Meal "for their niece" and ask for "the blue one." It was the best. Also I hope Nick gets a 3DS. -

Rare footage of an Oarfish, the longest bony fish in the world. They only come into shallow waters like this very rarely, when they're about to die. -
That last one is especially weird.

Man, the shorts they've been putting out between seasons of Gravity Falls just keep getting better and better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEe-F0JID3E Also you guys really need to watch that Adventure Time episode to share in my mind-boggling.

Any time I need to post something that I can't, I just put a in the middle of it, including this very sentence.
