Short episode! You Have to Win the Game sounds really fascinating though.

The best thing about the Simpsons minifigs is swapping their heads onto ridiculous bodies. ...I need to clean and windex my desk.

It is fucking fascinating to me that Super 3D Noah's Ark not only existed, but actually got reprinted twenty years later. Also, fun trivia: those religious clone games released on the NES actually worked by deliberately frying the lockout chip. They could potentially damage your system.

The second issue of Lumberjanes is out today! The pacing's much better than the already great first issue, plus some of the characters who didn't get much to do last time get fleshed out a lot more. It's the best. I also picked up the first TPB of Sex Criminals, which has been pretty fantastic so far. It's super cheap, too (only ten bucks for a fairly sizeable full-colour book!), so it's a great time to get into the series.

Like its 3DS predecessor, the game gets waaaay harder in the post-credits stages. Incidentally, were you actively moving forward in the Bowser car fights? I thought they were pretty unfair until I realized that you're supposed to never stop chasing the car. It doesn't seem like it's doing anything, but it does.

I don't think that even Nintendo ever had high expectations for the Pokémon Mini. The target demographic for that thing is basically just me, and even I didn't buy one. The Gameboy Micro was sort of a disaster though, and I did buy one of those.

This is my new favourite tumblr post.

I bought my ticket to the comic convention weeks ago, and even bought a book to ask Kate Leth to sign, but now that it's almost here I don't feel so good about going.

H.R. Giger died. Guess I'm watching Alien today.

I haven't read your posts since you switched from the Scott Dewitt drawing of Doctor Wily to Iago. Nyohohoho

If nothing else, has anyone told the Thumbs that the canonical ending to Saints Row the Third is not only based on Red Faction Guerilla, butis based on Chris' "Space Asshole" interpretation of Red Faction Guerilla. You spend the last twenty minutes fucking around on a mining colony on Mars, jumping your stupid space truck off of ridges. For real.

I really wish the Wii U had a more extensive Virtual Console service, because if I could just play every classic Nintendo game on either the gamepad or the woefully unappreciated Wii U Pro Controller, I'd be in heaven.

I'm sitting here at 1:30 am listening to Jurassic Park dubstep and I'm not the least bit tired. What is wrong with me.

Can anyone recommend a good comics podcast? Preferably not much in the way of superheroes, more indie and manga stuff?

"We studied and took inspiration from the way living things run in order to come up with our design." "Oh? What did you give it?" "Wheels."

After watching the SR4 Quick Look and a bunch of trailers for fun yesterday, I'm surprisingly happy that other people play as a female character with the Laura Bailey voice. It's like seeing clips of Mass Effect and realizing that there are people who don't play as FemShep for some reason.

I just think it's interesting that Ucantalas was affected so much by the Brotherhood version when everything up to and including that moment is incredibly rushed since it was all covered in the original anime.

The one instance where the marketing for Saints Row turned out to be kind of brilliant is how they hyped up the romance system without ever explaining how it works, which is literally just pressing X once to make your character say "Hey Kinzie, wanna' fuck?"

I 100%ed SR3 and moved on to SR4 pretty quickly afterward. Incidentally, singing along to "What I Got" with Pierce in SR3 and the subsequent callback in SR4 are possibly my favourite little character moments in a video game. A lot of the publicity for those games was focused on stuff like the dildo bat and the dubstep gun, but the fantastic writing and chemisty between the characters is their strongest selling point for me.

Okay, I'm on board again.

Rats. That's a shame. Oh well, at least now I know that there wouldn't have been much to talk about. Thanks for the effort anyway.

So I've been playing Saints Row 4 pretty obsessively lately, and now I really want to hear the Thumbsketeers' impressions of it. Specifically, all the little moments, like one of the radio stations occasionally playing excerpts from Pride and Prejudice read by the alien overlord villain, or the references to old Lucasarts adventure games.

I 100%ed SR3, including all of the side stuff like the Saintsbook missions. I've been playing SR4 over the last few weeks and really digging it, though maybe not as much.

I didn't like B/W so much, but B2/W2 might be the strongest entries in the series. G/S and HG/SS have some of the best ideas, but suffer from a terrible level curve that necessitates grinding. D/P/Pt had a great overworld but the most unfortunately slow battle system. R/S/E are my pick for the weakest entries due to the monotony of the game's second half. R/B/Y are broken as hell and if you really want to take the nostalgia trip that much you should just play the legitimately good FR/LG.
