  1. Star Wars VII - Open spoilers

I dunno, for me it's weird seeing everyone have such a strong reaction to these trailers. I'm surprised this imagery and these sounds are still special to people after Star Wars has been milked dry in every possible medium. Not that I begrudge anyone their excitement.
  2. Anyway, I kinda like the Rom fight but I understand why people don't. I thought it sucked on my first playthrough too.
  3. Star Wars VII - Open spoilers

Did they really need a giant red evil banner to signify how evil they are? The red looks out of place to me.
  4. Did anyone here watch Star Trek Continues? I'm not that into fan made stuff, but I agreed to watch an episode and it was better than I expected. It probably helps that they're emulating TOS and not any of the other series though.
  5. Yeah, if you have enough Vit you to survive its attacks its not too bad, but I had no fun trying to do that fight cleanly and that's usually how I end up judging them. Plus I really don't like how it looks.
  6. I don't think Rom's that bad, but it might depend a lot on your weapon. If you unlock the camera and use the L2 attack on the 2-handed Axe for example you can hit the spiders' backs without having to flank them. My least favourite fight in the game is The One Reborn, it can hit you through walls, it's too big to see all of its tells, the vomit attack is bullshit, the frame rate is bad, I don't like anything about that fight.
  7. Same here, I don't know how I'd get audio otherwise. My screen doesn't have an HDMI port and I don't have a TV.
  8. I thought that was neat since Also, you can use backups to avoid grinding vials when you're up against a hard boss. I might consider doing that since it just feels like a waste of time.
  9. Deus Ex Universe

I hope they bring back something along the lines of multitools and lockpick in this game. My biggest problem with HR was how every situation was reduced down to hacking. What made DX's multiple paths interesting is that they all tended to be expensive in terms of resources. Using four multitools and two emp grenades stung, so finding a key code on a datapad actually mattered. In HR it mostly boiled down to how you wanted to approach the enemy encounters, and even then you'd just retrace the other paths for XP.
  10. Plug in a USB stick, go into settings (for the PS4) and there's an option to manage save data.
  11. You can sneak/run past the axe guys, and there's another shortcut there. For Amelia, I like the running R2 attack with the 2-handed Axe. Quite often you can tag her head when you run straight at her, which I think does more damage. The moves that I think are easiest to deal damage on are the very slow grab that she does and the hand slam shockwave attack (you have to dodge fairly late for that). If you can get behind her that's also a good spot to deal damage, but don't linger because she has a backstep that'll damage you. Don't get too greedy with your hits, do one or two attacks. You take extra damage if you get hit during your attack animation. If you get her to maybe 15-20% you should be able to finish her off with molotovs. Not locking on can also help when you're close to her.
  12. Yay, 85 is great unless there's a hidden Quake 3 easter egg mode.
  13. The first thing I noticed, aside from the game being pretty, is that the FoV seems low. Like in the mid 50's low. Please, please, please include some kind of option for that even if it's unsupported because it breaks the viewmodels.
  14. I watched some of GiantBomb's QL for the re-release and after having played a ton of Bloodborne the animation looks so bad in comparison. I mean, it's not bad but there's something about it that makes it look slightly off.
  15. Yay, I killed the Shadows on my lvl4 run. Reminds me a bit of the Throne Watcher / Defender fight, but a lot more forgiving. So far the hunters are worse than the bosses, I've had to employ some creative cheese strategies:
  16. This is because of an issue with the kb/m implementation in Dark Souls II, I know exactly what you're talking about. The problem stems from the fact that the game recognises double clicks as valid inputs. As a result, there is an intentional delay with all mouse inputs to give time for the player to do another click. That is kind of bad just on its own, because ~100-200ms of input lag is ugh, but the real issue is that since the keyboard inputs are instant you need to offset the 'w' tap by the input delay for them to register at the same time. It's impossible to do consistently. What I ended up doing was using AutoHotKey to intercept my mouse inputs and resend them to the game as keyboard inputs, that way they're instant. It's an annoying workaround that has a few issues, but it at least solves that problem.
  17. I think the 2-handed L2 on the Axe can work too, because it also has fantastic range. It's harder to time though. Those hunter fights are fun, but I think the damage they do should probably be tone downed slightly.
  18. He destroyed me a bunch of times, but when I finally killed him I barely took any damage. I used the thrusting attack on the untransformed Kirkhammer because it's fast and has good range. I'd wait until he was running at me and that was a way to consistently do damage without getting hit. Most of the time was just spent dodging around semi randomly to not get hit. I also did a few parries, but they're hard to get off. You can also cheese it:
  19. BSB down on my lvl 4 run! I can tell this is going to get rough.
  20. Maybe this will be my excuse to get back into coding
