Yeah I think you are right, if it has Cereza in it. Considering the story of the first game, it is unlikely she will make another appearance. Still, ill at least give it a try and report back.

Apparently there exists a Bayonetta anime movie, so I guess I'm gonna watch it.
-
Yup, thanks, this is the one. I guess they were using the wiiu tablet then.
-
yeah I knew that, I just didn't want to set it up. Cool though, i'll try out that kind of aiming in WWHD when I play it, thanks
-
can you use the motion controls without a sensor bar?
-
from what I recall of the nintendo's e3 stream of bayonetta, I think that the tablet is optional, I want to say they were using pro controllers, but i'm not sure. I'll see how I like the feel of tablet anyway, maybe ill get used to it and wont need a pro controller. It doesn't feel bad as a controller, all the inputs are great. Just kind of unweildy.

I just got a wiiu yesterday (for Bayonetta, but I did get mario kart). Mine is coaxmetal.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)
coaxmetal replied to Wrestlevania's topic in Idle Banter
This album (Dangerous Days, by PERTURBATOR) just came out yesterday, and it is the best thing. I love this style of music, and he's one of the best. Love his album art too. For those interested, or if you like stuff like Kavinsky (or the song Nachimir posted, of course) his new album is pay what you want at http://perturbator.bandcamp.com He also did some stuff for the hotline miami OST, and is doing more for 2 I think. -
I did just buy a Wiiu (got the 2 hundo refurbished one from nintendo). I bought it specifically for Bayonetta 2, but that isn't out yet of course. I got Mario Kart 8 and as my free game got Windwaker HD. I never played the original, so I will probably play that. The tablet is actually pretty neat, even though its gimmicky. Might have to get a pro controller or whatever they are calling it now to play Bayonetta though, we'll see.

I just finished Resident Evil: Revelations (the PC version), and actually quite liked it. It wasn't outstanding, but it had pretty satisfying RE gameplay and a cool environment. The writing was terrible, but it a way that I could really get behind. The raid mode is fun in coop too, I played some with Cine yesterday.

I like the look of this game, and it appears to have potential. I watched giant bomb's quick look of the alpha. I do, however, have 2 issues with it. One is that this is not an alpha, not even a beta, it is just a demo. The other is that I generally don't like playing first person shooters with a controller, but this game is not coming to the windows compatible personal computer. I am getting a PS4 eventually for Bloodborne anyway though, so when I get one I might also get Destiny, depending on how well it is received post-launch.

Metroid Prime: Great Game or Greatest Game?
coaxmetal replied to Architecture's topic in Video Gaming
Yeah I don't think you can seriously throw the term "greatest game" around any more than you can throw "citizen kane of games" around, at least not seriously. Those 2 don't mean the same thing, but both are incredibly loaded and of ambiguous meaning anyway.- 60 replies

Metroid Prime: Great Game or Greatest Game?
coaxmetal replied to Architecture's topic in Video Gaming
I've actually never been a huge fan of the prime games. I think they translated what made metroid games great to 3D successfully, but I never got into them. Super Metroid, as well as Zero Mission and Fusion, are 3 of my favorite games, but I was just never sold on prime. Part of it was also i could barely see most of it on my TV, or my friend's TV where I played it, and it all looked the same and I had no idea where I was.- 60 replies

Thanks for hanging out yesterday Turgid, that was great

Oh yeah, the wild hunt was also in Dresden files, among other things. I have heard of it. This one doesn't look a lot like the classic legend, though. I think I will also reread The Last Wish, and maybe the others.
-
Yeah I assume its Yennefer. She was mentioned in 2 a few times, but otherwise she's only mentioned in the books. The wild hunt was also in the books and the first game. I think Twig is right, from what I remember, but yeah, it isn't an ancient evil. In 2, it was mentioned that Yennefer was killed, so presumably she also escaped death.

The witcher 2's combat is weird. It doesn't control anythign like dark souls. It is satisfying in it's own way, but takes getting used to. Also, while it has 360 controller support, I found the mouse and keyboard controls to me much better (and I usually prefer a controller for 3rd person games). I think the mouse/kb controls were just executed better by the devs (and were also made first).
-
Yeah. i'm really sorry about that, I think I took off just before then. I heard on twitter you met up with someone else though, that's good. I'd be happy to try again, how long are you in town? I can also take bart down to where you are staying if that's easier.

Is anyone else strangely excited for the new Wolfenstein game?
coaxmetal replied to Architecture's topic in Video Gaming
some stuff in this game is pretty gory, but it didn't stand out, other than that specfic scene you called out in the video. That particular scene, though is Anyway. I quite like this game. There was a lot more to it than I expected. As mentioned on the cast, it is exactly what it set out to be, with no grander ambitions, but it does what it does well, and it's fun. -
They also added a tutorial with its own little narrative later, which made it easier to learn the combat since the main game didn't do a good job teaching it

I'm not familiar with blogger at all, but my guess it is just requires you to set a CNAME for text records for your DNS, and using hover's dns tools is really easy. If it works as part of google apps or something, that's even easier, it can auto configure that.

I have a higher opinion of the original witcher than most, I think the story, characters, and world were very good, but it is much less approachable than 2 since the combat system isn't as good, and is also harder to get into at first (I did end up enjoying it, but it isn't what makes the game good). It is more like just clicking with a rhythm than combat. The other part that makes it hard to get into is that the first area, the outskirts of vizima, is the least interesting one. Still a game I really like though. As far as people new to the series goes though, starting with 2 is fine. It makes references to the first and has returning characters, but knowledge of the first game is probably no more vital than having read the books (I've read the 2 that have been translated, the first one is the best). Also, I agree that the sex cards were pretty dumb, but the game itself was good. The portrayal of women is an issue the series has issues with in general, it seems. Anyway, I am very excited for 3 and I haven't even watched any of the trailers posted in this thread yet. Just excited on principle.

Nice! I'm glad you will be able to play it after all. This is great news. great news.

Dark Souls 2 (Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor))
coaxmetal replied to melmer's topic in Video Gaming
Yeah that ran me almost dry on effigies too. Eventually got the job done. You can farm from the lizard men in shrine of amana. Also if you talk to one of the old ladies after a certain point in the game (forget what) she will give you 6.- 1284 replies
