  1. Half-Life 3

Gabe: "This time we will do it properly,I present thee; Half Life 3: Episode 1"
  2. Oculus rift

Here's guessing a Sonys clone will be named The EscapeStation
  3. Rust: It puts the lotion on its skin

I spent four days with a friend getting and crafting a huge castle, learning ALL the blueprints/items to craft, and halfway through building it we realised we were on a non-pvp server where only zombies and wildlife can kill you not other humans. Absolutley gutted. And the prospect of doing it all again is just a kick in the teeth, finding all the blueprints, the fact it takes 200 second to craft one metal foundation and you have to stand next to a workbench to do it. this was an absolute waste of time:
  4. V The Elder Scrolls

i just cant help but imagine far cry 2 crossover into Skyrims world...
  5. V The Elder Scrolls

Wow, been playing this over the weekend, it may not be as proceedural as Far Cry 2 but boy are the off-quest random encounters and writting amazing outside the main quest, not to mention how jaw-dropping this looks for a 3 year old game without any Nexus mods:
  6. Far Cry 2

    Great review TychoCelchuuu
  7. Call of Juarez: Gunslinger

i loved that bit when you're in the abandoned Steam boat and the non-digetic narrative of people in the bar talking of the story your acting out mention the Titanic and that it is being build; "Unsinkable they say".
  8. Far Cry 2

Same here I like to immerse myself as I enjoy as escaping to a world rather than exploiting weapons and winning as fast as possible. I did what Nick and Chris did and stare out accross the plains, watching the god rays vanish as a storm rustled up the grass as the animals run along a distant ridge. If you play to win at all cost, fine. I don't think it's a right that all games should accommodate such a demand. Miasmata for one is brilliant for being an antithesis to such gamification. Also I'm not sure if nicks mistake was so highly scripted, if it was, thanks nick and Chris for your accompanying music, a quaint highlight of my gaming year.
  9. Far Cry 2

Rakombo I think Erkki sums it up well the main "do something" is that you're unrestricted in how you do everything. No invisible walls or out of bounds you are liberated in how you tackle an objective, to me the fun is seeing if my plan was really smart or incredibly Ill-thought-out. Best part is, both are fun. I loved Far Cry 3 an awful lot too Erkki, to me they are two beasts that I . The lack of UI pulls me into the world and I'm not reminded I'm in a game. Also, anyone found an Oculus Rift mod for this at all? It kinda seems an obvious poster child for the benefits of it.
  10. Far Cry 2

All praise Ray the God of Chunks
  11. Far Cry 2

This looks awfully Far Cry 2'y Even down to the chunky god-rays http://store.steampowered.com/app/252490/
  12. Assassin's Creed: Buccaneer

I played the whole weekend, loving everything but animus stuff. Can't help but imagine Rockstar Games a Presents: Privateer
  13. Does this not highlight that there aren't many prominent defenders of our medium to attack and challenge head on the misconceptions of video games.
  14. DOTA 2

Jon me and two friends just introduced a friend last night. You're more than welcome to join, we are friendly Brits who don't rage and enjoy a laugh. We use Mumble (it's free) to talk to each other as it's better than in game mic. Feel free to add me on steam: Tundra_Boosh I'll be on around 21:00 GMT. We might not be "experienced" but we have around 300 hours each and know enough. If anyone else wants to join, feel free to add me, the more the merrier.
  15. GTA V

    Me neither, thanks YouMeYou
  16. DOTA 2

Had to share, epic game. 2 trolls rage quited, and another random left after them, leaving me and my mate: All our lane towers down except 1 bot, and their creeps killing our top and barracks. All their lane towers gone and bottom with barracks. Riki shadowing my Viper everywhere, 5 vs 2, 20 minutes later we win.
  17. GTA V

Anyone realised they stole the main sequences from Uncharted One and Two. You enter a cargo plane, the back is open, you are shooting bad guys as boxes and cars fly past you that you have to dodge to avoid death. It ends with the plane crashing and you fly out the back and land in the desert. Also working your way up a moving train.
  18. GTA V

That happened with me three times in a row i waited a day and back down to normal if not decreased, even though the company i had taken out was still lossing share price. Doesnt make sense. Also ive finished the main story and not once was i required to fly that fighter jet, is that down to my decission making in heists?
  19. Half-Life 3

id love valve or some other AAA dev to use the GTAV engine, the scale and quality is insane and a real shame only rockstar will use. imagine Half Life 3 in an open world. filled with strangers, and content you could miss entirely through its scale and detail.
  20. GTA V

You have more willpower than me, sir.
  21. GTA V

but to get a good market share, didnt the last steam poll say most people still dont have a 360 equivalent graphics setup. Pretty sure that was FIFAs excuse for denying pc owners the next gen bells and wistles outright with FIFA 14
  22. Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs

How great was the ending to a machine for pigs. Damn.
  23. GTA V

i really liked the art direction but it needed a decent pc to run it. iCEmod was way to shiny and extreme contrast level. i have a GTX680 its a whole different world to the one on 360/PS3, you add maximum pedestrains and it comes alive with them jabbering, all the bells and whistles make this game, which is a shame for most people who wont run it on those specs.
  24. GTA V

I concur, and that's kind of a biased spot to illustrate your point, nightime was a wash of colours all over the map, especially the manhattan strip. I think people overlook how reviolutionary the physics engine for the human behaviour was, along with the huge up-close detail, it holds alot of fond memories. Also i used to play a great game with friends we refered to as "CHASE" where one person would fly the rocket/machine gun helicoptor from the Gay Tony DLC and try to stop 2 or more people in one car from reaching the other island, anything goes, the physics and hilarity was great.
  25. GTA V

oooh just noticed they must of used the dev tools to take this short:
