  1. Far Cry 4: A grenade rolls down everest

Remember that IGN quote on the cover of Far Cry 3 "like Skyrim with guns" And now, it finally is.
  2. Screenshots. Shots of your screen.

From my travels through Skyrim, un-edited in any way: Kill-cam:
  3. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

I would like some plot twists that come out of left-field as these games dont typically have a story throughout. So if i get to 300 citizens or something a filter - akin to say Bio-Infinite tears - now you see the world you built from scratch as maybe some village in North Korea and the troops come in and take all the food, or a flood just wipes everything and everyone. I wish for this mainly just to see how IGN would cope accomodating something like that in a review I don't know about the rest of you thumbs but i link games together a la a Brendon Chung Citizen Able universe. I've linked this to Papers Please and Half life 2 in a romanticism of myself living in the stereotypical Soviet Union esque world

  5. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

Oh wow, i was playing Banished with the (combat orientated tracks excluded) Skyrim OST. It's like they were made for each other...
  6. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

This made me laugh pretty hard! I thought i solved this by building houses between work and markets, i have no controll over where my Banished live. If i could keep the builders to the outlying buildings permanently would be a godsend, theyre so slow now because they adamantly stay in the old town which is bloody miles from nowhere they work. Then they seriously need lunchboxes.
  7. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

This is the biggest design problem for my enjoyment of Banished, full markets connected with stone roads, and 100%-educated people continuously starving to death:
  8. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

Love that word, Kludgey. Same here, I think ill stop after the next disaster to my large town: Oh - hello - talk of the devil... A fire has erupted in two stone houses, next to a well, during a rain storm. Huh.
  9. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

It's not even an "Early Access" Steam game, which would excuse the £14.99 price. Any news on forthcoming content?
  10. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

Bahaha did you have enough labourers? First thing I did was turn all wooden houses into stone houses, had no fires at all during my so far 39 in game years. Have had 2 tornados though, does anything bad happen if you clear full cemeteries? I've got so many ATM. Also, the gathering range for the market workers needs to be at leastdoubled or trebled.
  11. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

You can't, it's part of their culture. It's like that old T.V advert: 'Give a man a fish, and he can feed himself for a day. But give a man the keys to your town, and he can feed himself forever.' Here's my progress, callin' it a night!
  12. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

I have a lovely village that can sort that problem out very quickly. I got far now by making sure the first things i built is a Gatherers hut and a Hunting Lodge. Ample food there was straight from the off. I Had over 70 citizens with thousands in reserve foodstuffs. With my highly educated populous (A school was the 3rd building i built, seems to stop the kids wandering about eating said food) and 5 nomads turn up asking if they could join my town. I had a Boarding House sitting empty so i thought '5 Nomads couldn't hurt?' Next thing i know the food has disappeared including reserves, my people are dropping like flies now, down to under 50, im early harvesting everything. took everyone out the mines to farm, fish, and hunt... and STILL those damn nomads take the food : I concur, i have tonnes of wood and metal sitting on outlying deposit areas, and warnings saying i'm out of wood, depsite having stone paths straight to them.
  13. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

That's my gripe, lack of stats or feedback. 'Is this a good place to fish?', 'Why are these people not happy?' 'Where will i get better yeilds?' It would be great to draw zones where a villager can and can't go, to maximise time to guarantee they follow the quickest path to their job. They always seem to pick houses the furthest from their job ¬¬
  14. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

IGN gave Banished an 8.3 (!) "Nothing less than Skyrim City"
  15. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

I knocked the difficulty down to easy and cant tell any difference other than no one is having children and people dying of old age becomes an apparent problem. I wonder if birth-rates are linked to happiness. Everyone seems depressed and ill as theyre all on half a heart and half a star. it was a toss-up between using my last resources to build a brewery to increase happiness, or a hospital to increase health. I chose a hospital. I staffed the hospital. No buggar is using the hospital... ah... the hospital worker died of old age. So my village is like some internment work camp for the elderly. Guess i'll start over (again) @NeonRev Then you're a luckier guy than me, i can have 10 labourers and assign 5 only to gather iron and never have any of it in about 7 restarts. Maybe the game hates me.
  16. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

Same reason i haven't (fully) built one yet, that and the school that "helps improve productivity". Regarding idle workers, i have a problem where i assign individuals jobs and yet they carry on clearing a plot of land...
  17. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

I'm keeping labourers (i have to spell "labor" with a 'u' being British, to all intents and purposes) at 5 persons a minimum and still struggling. Having 5 in each mine to get iron ore, with plenty lumber - rest designated to farming - and still falling into the [lack of resources neccessary to craft] void of tools problem:
  18. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

i swear to god everyone was dying of starvation until only 6 fisherman were left then THEY all died of starvation. Useless fishermen!
  19. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

I keep wishing this was a (good) Fable game, before all the magic. wishing the towns folk would start farting and having unprotected sex etc, oh the hilarity!
  20. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

I keep getting buggared for everyone running out of tools really quickly, and cant do nout. Good old restarting...
  21. Rust: It puts the lotion on its skin

I agree the state it is in now is well worth a look before they start adding high quality metal etc... Right now it's incredibly well balanced that if you lose everything you can rebuild quickly, which is great as you try new things through necessity not ticking a quest box or filling an achievement bar up. Your achievenrs in rust are what you do which is really refreshing. To me at least.
  22. Rust: It puts the lotion on its skin

Clyde you must be on a very nice server. Night time is blackout for everyone as most groups send 3-5 player sorties to sniff out newbies or idle players who've left their fires or furnaces on. It got to the stage where groups would make a little camp fire with two nakeds and have the rest hidden away to trap any would-be plunderers. So a light at night connotates traumatic thoughts for those of us who have survived this long. On a brighter note There's two huge rival towers near small Rad town on my server we're going to sneak a huge giant wooden pen is structure between early UK time when no one is on when we've made enough structural parts and cover it in fires with full 250 wood to light it up for all to see. Will post a pic if/when it's erected.

  24. Rust: It puts the lotion on its skin

Quick story of a month in RUST (with pictures!) after learning the ropes after 3 weeks, me and a cohort found a sweet flat spot lower than road level by the sea and after surviving a few raids managed to build too much metal to scare people off the server. The rest didnt know... until we heard people talk in chat of a place called "atlantis" a mythical city by the sea: It's 18 storeys high after one month of gathering and raiding by 3 of us: Problem is now we've got so powerful on our own, the waring factions inside the road have lost their edge, no matter how many they outnumber us to the stage where our raids are over-farming, people are leaving and the few that remain are building fake bases with empty crates to deplete our C4: The mythical atlantis has started to grow as a city with our "affiliates" building within our sphere of saftey and join us on raids: But people are leaving our 50 max server, there are hardly ever any admins on to increase it and airdrops are maybe 1 or 2 a day so newbies have nigh-on no chance of competing with us, and all our hard work is nearly worthless now there is no one to engage with. sincerely a concerned citizen.
