  1. Resident Evil 6: President Evil

Have they patched this shit yet? Weren't they going to sort out the camera
  2. Yeah it did, the game would leave a white silhouette of your last seen position. in fact I'm pretty sure the new tomb raider did this, not the silhouette thing, just having enemies concentrating on your last seen positionFYI the new tomb raider is stellar, y'all should go play it
  3. ^ the last of us!? Maybe, I don't know a great deal about the game, but I know you can smash a guys face in with a brick, which is more realistic than a 'sky hook'. Hooray progress \o/ You love it you slag I thought Tom was supposed to be a big sporting jock and I pictured Gatsby to be a very rigid medium build guy. The imagery of Gatsby physically overpowering Tom just seems crazy to me http://www.harkavagrant.com/?id=259 That is fantastic. Old as balls

  5. And where the hell is Toby (can't remember the characters name) will he just get relegated to set dressing. Yeah Gatsby Screaming at Tom, i recall it being slightly more restrained than that. Wait... i like yelling. this is a good thing

Did the original MGS3 have fixed camera angles like 1 and 2? I think that may have been my problem, as i played the subsistence version with free cam so i could see all the enemies... but can they see me, CAN THEY SEE ME?1?!?! AHHHHHHH and therein lies my problem

I remember when i played MGS3, the no map/cone of vision freaked me the fuck out Because i'm an impatient ass hat, i hated the idea of wriggling around everywhere on my belly as i never knew if i'd be spotted if i were to stand up. so i threw caution to the wind and just ran everywhere That final massive area, the big tank hanger was an utter cluster fuck of me running around like a headless chicken with alerts going off left, right and centre. I didn't want to invest that much time and effort in to it, i just wanted to play a video game. Perhaps MGS5 could make me care, but only with a completely overhaul of its controls, it needs tomb raiders auto stealth crouch!
  12. Ever since playing hundreds of hours in Goldeneye multiplayer on 'one hit kill' mode i've always preferred the more realistic 'Getting shot matters' approach Theres nothing worse that shooting someone in the face just for them to keep on smiling back at you, it totally breaks the immersion, for example when i shoot people in the face in the real world they sure as shit aint smiling afterwards weapon of choice... the spud gun! please tell me everyone had a spud gun growing up!? I just had a flash back reminiscing about Goldeneye. In 'One hit kill' mode, nothing strikes fear into a young boys heart like a karate chopping crouched odd job freakishly gliding towards you as you frantically spray and prey your KF7 Soviet. I can picture him now weaving in and out of creates in the archives corridor, ever nearing, relentless, unstoppable.

You know what game had great stealth?... Far Cry 3 I never fully enjoy the ambiguity of whether you are being seen or not in games like dishonoured or... you name it, any first person game which has stealth mechanics: crysis 2, halo 4, etc. So Far Cry 3, for starters hiding in the long grass was fantastic. The only other game i can think of that lets you hide in shrubbery is Ass Creed 3 and its probably one of the best things they added to the AC formula for the latest iteration and will no doubt be present in the Caribbean jungles. But what really made the stealth stand out for me was the on screen prompts, you always know when you've been spotted as the game gives you an increasing 'i see you' meter, and whats fantastic about it is that you rarely get that AH FUCK moment when you are spotted, as you generally get a 2 second buffer where you can slip back into the shadows/grass. Obviously the jungle setting helps massively in this regard as you can't really blend into the carpet when spotted in a dishonoured hallway. But there were times in dishonoured when i'd be sat on a ledge or roof top with an every approaching guard and i had no fucking idea if the game considered me hidden or not Stealth prompts
  14. Blow: Playing Infinite, I realize that Halo-style recharging shields are actually a huge mistake in shooter design. But all shooters use them now. Since people are going to ask: There are two problems; one is about emotional pacing, one is about gameplay crispness and fairness. With shields, you are always doing okay in the medium and long term. They low-pass filter the emotional high of surviving a tight situation. The crispness problem is: In order to provide difficulty, designers now have to overwhelm your shields all the time, which means designing situations that are spammy (get hit from all directions so you can't process what is going on). These are confusing and not fun. These feel messy to play but they happen all the time because they have to. Or, like Infinite does, have super attacks that take away all your shields at once *and* 1/3 of your health, which feels steeply unfair. With shields, you are always doing okay in the medium and long term. Also, shields train the player to ignore getting hit most of the time, which becomes grating at the end when guys start hitting hard. (You trained the players for one thing but then gave them another!) I think shooters are much stronger experiences when it matters if you got hit. In shield games you get hit all the time, like flies buzzing. You can have a tight situation on the order of 10 seconds, but not on the order of 5 minutes, which matters more. Yeah. I think there is nothing wrong with 30 seconds of fun, if one doesn't forget 5 minutes of fun, 1 hour and 5 hours.
  15. Thumbs at GDC?

Was it like a barked shout point blank into is face STEVEGAANA
  16. Hearing jakes super stun sky hook story of people's heads constantly exploding in his face makes me want to share my own wacky clothing perk anecdote So I picked up some trousers very early on which caused a mini nuclear explosion occur around my personage whenever I hoped off the skyline, I imagined they looked somewhat like the wrong trousers from Wallace and gromit and would often picture Booker whizzing through the air on a skyline wearing huge robotic exploding trousers. Theres a part quite early on in the game where Comstock calls off his boys over the intercom, I only twigged the group of ten soldiers weren't a threat mid death defying exploding pants leap. I hit the ground amongst the poor fools instantly turning all of them into flailing lump of melting flesh and blackened bones turning to ash... Oops Knowing the error of my ways and wanting to appease the video game gods i quickly hit restart checkpoint only to appear standing in exacltly the same spot surrounded by corpses. Doh As a side note, did anyone try to kill any children?

“It is worth noting that we are looking for proven external partners who can help us provide video games to our fans,” the reps continued. “We still believe in the video game industry, we still will provide Star Wars games, we’re just looking at different models rather than internal production. “They’re evaluating everything. There’s always a possibility that it [star Wars 1313] can still come out via licensing.” http://www.vg247.com/2013/04/03/disney-shuttering-lucasarts-game-publishing-arm/
  19. Huh, I could've sworn there was a choice. Obviously mixing it up with the pendant choice. How strange that they would ask you to flip a coin and not make a choice, they've done that on purpose. When have you ever been asked to flip a coin and not choose the outcome. Chris its funny to hear you say you didn't recognise the coin tossers, they're kindve a big deal, were they not in the game at all when you were at irrational? Or did I miss hear you
  20. 1313 canceled! What the dick Lucasarts shut down http://kotaku.com/disney-shuts-down-lucasarts-468473749
  21. As for lock picks, I always had more than enough throughout the entire game other than the very beginning when it's first introduced and you really have to make a choice, there's a 5 picks door and a 5 picks safe and you only have enough for one of them. (Which included a ton of back tracking) Pre order bonus included 5 lock picks Cunning
  22. Happy centenary idle thumbs! You don't look a day over 85. Have you received your letter from the queen yet?
  23. i don't think their reaction would be any different to your choice? (although i only played it once) either way they probably still say "hmm interesting" Very mild spoiler
  24. Post your face!
