Yes, the order of the tracks, names and years are independent of each other. It's a bit confusing now that I look at it but hey, October is the time for mysteries.

So here it is - another carefully curated, artisanal compilation of random video game music clips from games that I have personally enjoyed. Even if the list ends up sounding totally foreign to you (there is huge genre and platform gaps) I hope you get some enjoyment out of it. The crossed over list is the games in alphabetical order. Name of the game is enough.

With the help of the release year and cover hints, after some lucky guesses and obsessive searching I found 3,11 and 19. And I made a new one too... I'll post it after this one is closed and if nobody else has a hot new quiz ready. I was thinking, how about a collaborative quiz? People could send for example a Youtube link (and a timecode if necessary) in a private message to me (or if someody else wants to be the organizer/compiler) and I'd put it together and upload it to Youtube!?

This was a pleasant surprise! Waiting for Tone Control season 2 to be replaced by 202 episodes of X-Files Rewatch. A random chain of thoughts: Angelo Badalamenti's music is so good -> It took me a long time to realize uses the strings from Laura Palmer's Theme -> I wonder who else have sampled Twin Peaks? -> Oh, the speech in Biosphere's was from , I need to rewatch the show clearly.

4 has such a silly and fun gothic techno action vibe that after looking through the games released in 2001 I knew it had to be: I think it's a good/interesting thing if the selection of tracks is a reflection of the compiler's personal history and interests in video games.

Yeah, Lethal League is super good! Such a simple idea executed brilliantly, it is exactly what it looks like (a pong fighter) but has also plenty of depth to its frantic gameplay. I'm excited to see whatever Team Reptile is going to make next, I liked their previous (and first) game also, it had a fun singleplayer campaign and a very .

As a big SH1-3 fan I wondered for a long time if I should try some of the post Team Silent games but after watching TwinPerfect's (SH supernerds who have a great video series called ) reviews, the answer was a pretty clear no. Here's a 2 hour(!) review of Downpour.

To celebrate BoI's 3rd anniversary there is a 30 minute interview now on Youtube (from Indie Game the Movie SE). It has little to do with Rebirth but if you're curious about the game this is a great way to learn more about its origins and themes.

Yeah that was an obscure choice... I have not played Ico since its release and just listened to the soundtrack now and then - I like the Beginning track very much and even had it as a wake up alarm years ago but when I now checked how and where the song actually appears in the game, it is very short and in the background.

I find it extra fun/fascinating/horrifying when the length of time traveled is very short like in Primer or Timecrimes.

Ok, time to let my quiz retire: End score 9/20. Like I said in an earlier post I ended up making a weird turbo condensed mixtape from some of my personal favourite soundtracks and didn't think much how accessible as a quiz it would be, but it was great fun to compile and you did get half(ish) of them!

Through being a real interwebs detective i found: Number 10 had me listening to the Threads of Fate soundtrack but it's not that.

Gang Beasts is great - while it is hilarious with two players for awhile, the combat is so simple (which is fine) that I feel it requires at least three players to keep the game interesting and surprising. Excited to see what gets added in the future, feels like the team has big plans and strong support from the players. I played La-Mulana for a couple of hours but had to give up because it's puzzles and progression are obscure to the max. Maybe someday I try again and look some hints once in awhile because it has a great sense of mystery to its tomb raiding. Did not have a SNES as a kid but I have strong memories of seeing DKC screenshots in some Nintendo magazine and being absolutely amazed, what kind of black magic creates graphics like that!

I'll reveal them sometime soon, still hoping for the tenth game. (Just checked where number 4 actually is in the game and it's not nearly as prominent as I thought it was).

I recognized two tracks (Cine knew the other one already). The exact year and a visual clue makes it in some cases quite easy to search out the game, I found out a few tracks I hadn't ever heard through detective work but I'm not going to post them yet if someone has "natural knowledge" of them. Though some sort of limiting category is probably a good idea and the pictures are nicely vague.

Yeah, I had that in mind at first, but then I tried to be cool and the numbers ended up being tiny AND behind the timecode when searching the video... Would it be too confusing if there was more than one quiz going on? - anyway I'd love to see/hear more of these.

Correct answers and hints for the rest in spoilerbox. I'm hoping it gets to 10/20 at least. I probably got a bit carried away when I started to focus on the idea of having somekind of musical connection between the songs, so there's lots of weird games and song choices. The picture's pieces are from the covers of the games, though that's not very helpful on purpose.
