Cool man. If it's not hard, then it might as well be made even if it's barren right? Just in case.

Oh my god. OH MY GOOOOOOOD. Thank you for allowing me/us to participate. If you ever want to have another event that's different in style from this one, you could do like the Survivor GameZ and do teams, or you could set an end point to guarantee a showdown (I was going to suggest the castle if it ran like 45 minutes more).

I have been playing a BUNCH this week. I don't know if I'll be getting the expansion, because sadly for Diablo, Titanfall comes out 2 weeks before it. I may, though. My ID is Badfinger#1688 on US.

While your interpretation is phenomenal, sadly that's just the server status message.

Idle Thumbs 147: The Titan Falls
Badfinger replied to Sean's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
This episode has made me extremely excited! I am going to try to be a calculating lord, I want to play Titanfall with/against Thumbs, and I want to be on the DayZ server observing the most dangerous game. I'm super pumped - IGN.com -
There's a decently strong chance that you logged into a different hive, and thus your character is not actually gone forever but rather you have multiple characters. The Hardcore and Regular servers are different spawns.

I had a Razer headset that I did not like, but yes the Razer Deathadder definitely appeals to me. It has the right balance of functionally placed buttons and game-ergonomicality without being an ostentatious load of pretentiousness. I have never owned one but yes that seems like a good choice as well.

Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)
Badfinger replied to Irishjohn's topic in Multiplayer Networking
I died to Ol Bitey today because I mistimed a jump and the monkey hit me instead of the other way around. One stun into the air later and it's a long plunge to the bottom. -
Replayable Narratives: Does Anyone Even Play a Game Once?
Badfinger replied to TychoCelchuuu's topic in Video Gaming
The thing about the first achievement is that the majority of people who even begin the game will get the first achievement. So if I started Game X, played the tutorial and got an achievement for it, then realized I really disliked the game in the next 10 minutes and stopped playing forever, is that the same as playing and not finishing? In my mind, that's much more akin to just having never played it.- 41 replies

The thing about making a pseudo open world with multiple ways you can complete objectives is that its... really hard. You have to design the level in a way that someone JUST HAPPENS to stumble on the air duct that lets them stealth into every office and feel really clever.

I am using the M510 RIGHT NOW and, as was said, the G500 is the big brother of that line. I bought this one as a direct replacement to a previous M510. It's pretty good.

What's the benefit of a mechanical keyboard besides being hell of loud? I'm also in the Cheap But Efficient keyboard boat. Once you get past the maximum keypresses supported, I don't have a lot of qualms about going low class and sturdy. Maybe that would change if I knew what the allure was. Also if there was something reasonable in the <$60 range. Oh also maybe we could have rad hardware chats in a hardware thread. Is there one? I see the Pick a Mouse thread is newly created.

Replayable Narratives: Does Anyone Even Play a Game Once?
Badfinger replied to TychoCelchuuu's topic in Video Gaming
While I generally agree with the point of the OP, it's funny that one of the games specifically referenced and called back to a number of times is Dragon Age. I personally went through after I finished the game and played every single starter area so i could see how all the introduction stories played out before it starts to give you the full open world. It's also a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate, and a certain section of communities find that game infinitely replayable. There's a 3000+ thread rolling on Something Awful right now for the Infinity Engine games, which follows what I believe was a 20k post thread for BG2. After all, they're basically extremely bespoke (SAT WORD), crafted D&D experiences and if you pick different classes they play quite differently. I think there are absolutely types of games with a narrative focus that should be replayable, or lend themselves well to being replayable. With that said, not replaying a game that caters to that audience doesn't make it a failure. Not finishing a game doesn't make it a failure. I'm one of those people. I started playing it with an SO who didn't play games. We really enjoyed it, but it was never an activity we went back to and now I'm not seeing her anymore. I have ever intention of playing it, but it never feels like the "right" time to do it. I don't actually know what "the right time" means but hey.- 41 replies

If you are not sure if you would like to play Persona, watch the Giant Bomb endurance run of Persona instead. At first I thought it was sort of boring, and then it was funny and interesting, and then I lost interest. There are only 120 episodes of the Endurance Run left if I want to go back! You kind of make it sound like literally 100% of all seconds in MGS are not ridiculous camp and insanity.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826105448 This is basically a perfectly acceptable gaming mouse. Also MW2 was 5 years ago. I say that not for your benefit, but mine. It's been a long time since Warfare was this modern.

Someone on the Bombcast put forward the theory/possibility that Take 2 was just going to shut the whole thing down and Levine managed to save 15 jobs rather than firing 200. I don't know how plausible that is, but it's something I hadn't really considered prior to that.

I'm surprised that both the first two things that come to mind have already been mentioned. Final Fantasy. The only good one is the first one for the NES Metal Gear Solid. No thank you. I gave up on Call of Duty after Modern Warfare.

Yep, figured. Don't take that to mean there's an issue or it's laggy. It's totally normal for connecting to the West Coast, just not the blazing speeds I get connecting to NY servers.

Although my ping is higher than I'd like (I presume this is a West Coast server, which would be the reason), it was super responsive. Things appeared on the ground instantly, etc! Plus being an early adopter means I was king of Berezino and Svetlo!

I am so excited. I don't usually play 1st person only because the people I play with are 3rd Person players.

I preordered. I enjoyed the beta so much. The nagging fear of being SimCity'd was banished because there isn't the next level of the thing that's missing. Once the round is over, another round begins. They withheld features, but not complexity.

Got it on the second try!

You are not alone, I had this same reaction. Sean, I agree with you fully. With that said, sometimes I totally feel "ugh just keep your X out of my Y" even when it's impossible to do so when what I mean to feel is "I don't, currently, want to discuss how X and Y are inextricably linked and in fact should be discussed", mostly because reality is shitty and forced moments of willful ignorance help me escape it. I wish that thinking and talking about what Diddy Kong is going to when he grows up was more relevant to the state of the world as a whole because it makes me laugh and feel good.
