Just a head's up, if you are the sort of person who wants to regenerate, make sure you look at the regeneration requirements before you're level 45. It's more than just hitting 50 and mashing the button.

I literally cannot find any clan or community, and I can't change my region because apparently I can't start the game without going through the launcher. Is it cross-region? Is it not cross region? To answer my own question it is in fact region specific, and none of your characters transfer between regions although you can swap freely.

Capture The Flag is excellent. The map design that make all the traversal incredible is also a crazy bonus to playing CTF.
  4. I'm very, very intrigued. Everything about the narrative revealed about the game screams Sean Vanaman. HEY CAN I BE IN THE BETA? DID YOU BEAT IT? WHAT BOARDS WERE THE BEST?
  5. Titanfall

I've been told but cannot confirm that after you hack an enemy spectre it's effectively "dead" and no more points to be had.
  6. Titanfall

You don't need to spoil that. You can ALWAYS hack spectres, and they are indeed a rad as hell posse.
  7. Titanfall

There are 15 maps (I think). Not every map is used in the campaign. What I would have found interesting is having 8 maps be [First Campaign's] campaign, and the other 7 being the other guy's. Yes, that would mean rather than having a "story" if you were on the opposite side you'd just be the generic enemy, but that's what non-campaign multiplayer is anyway. Playing it out one way, and then playing it out the other way to the exact same result regardless of outcome is a disappointment. I said it was just flavor, but decent flavor before and I stand by that. But now I've played with other people trying to get through the campaign and have played parts of it up to 4-5 times. I have yet to actually watch any of the window box vignettes. They might as well not exist.
  8. I can relate. I am convinced a job that is fulfilling and pays well doesn't exist. I am starting to doubt that a job that is fulfilling OR pays well exists. Everyone that says they have one or the other is basically lying.
  9. Titanfall

There are at least 4 new weapons that you could not get even with the burn cards in the beta. Also, 2 new titans. And there are new titan weapons, new titan ordnances, and a lot more unlocks. There are also additional burn cards, and a bunch more maps. There is a lot of game here.

I'm That Guy that used a VPN to unlock early, and outside of a window from literally 11:50 to 12:01 I didn't have any trouble connecting to games all evening.
  11. Titanfall

BadfingerSA The campaign is just flavor, but it's decent flavor. Standby.
  12. Sean I'm surprised you listen to podcasts playing DayZ, especially with how cautiously I've seen you play while on streams. I want to hear every word other people say, every rustle, soda being cracked, ammo being sorted, etc.

The thing that's actually bad about Origin is splitting communities, not the Origin platform itself. You click button and play game just like every other platform. It'll be fine.
  14. Anyone here own a fancy keyboard?

As someone who worked in the business furniture industry for almost 4 years, I can tell you that good ergonomics are no joke. The difference between a $999 list price ergonomically correct desk chair and a $200 Typo-Fasto mechanical keyboard is that one of them actually has a set of guidelines and standards to which they must adhere. I'm not saying you SHOULD spend a thousand dollars on a chair, but rather there are construction and quality standards that make that grand justifiable in a quantifiable sense to spend (or that companies can get away with charging $1000 for it, depending on your cynicism). With keyboards it seems to all come down to feel one way or another, and there's nothing that seems to actually justify the >$100 price points to me.
  15. Who are Your Favorite Video Game Reviewers/Critics?

After seeing Zero Punctuation mentioned, I watched a review for the first time in multiple years. To my surprise, it was hilarious again like it wasn't as much to me when I stopped watching them. I am perfectly fine with someone skewering games. They need skewering.

Is there a US clan and/or community?
  17. Titanfall

The Mag Launcher is shown right above it as anti-titan ordinance, and it's a semi-auto mag grenade launcher. Removing the 2-per-spawn pull the pin version and keeping the aim and shoot version seems a bit silly? I've started my preload. 50 gigs. What a brave, stupid new world we live in.
  18. http://dayzbattleroyale.com/ This is not a game inside DayZ Standalone, but if enough people have the ability to play the mod this game mode is awesome. It drops you into the map and the goal is to be the last person standing, with the zone you are allowed to be inside in the map area decreasing at set intervals (time/kills). It could be you against one other person in a 50m radius. It's super hard to just decide to go play it, because the majority of the maps won't begin until you have X number of players in them and it's not the most popular of the mods.

By the way, don't let the descriptions on the difficulties dissuade you from bumping them up. If you are familiar with Diablo-style games or returning to dusty characters there's probably no reason you can't roll through expert or master to level 60. The ramp up of difficulty has become MUCH more gentle compared to how it was previously structured. Loot rains from the sky. Added you, Limp.
  20. Diablo III BattleTags

Yeah it's really unfortunate for Diablo that it comes out 2 weeks after Titanfall. I have to tell you though, it's been an incredibly loot hording fun week since this new patch dropped. I may grab it just for some Titanfall change of pace.k-bohls I got your invite. Would be glad to pal around with you, farming with a bud at the moment.

I would not accept that bet. Also what's wrong with the mask? The mask lets you zoom. Zooming is cool.
  22. Saturday Morning Streams

Well I can answer that one. I owe Olly and Sean apologies! I went back and watched the end of the stream. I owe Olly an apology because it looked like he had me lined up and a geometry glitch cause him to hit the ground (hills are rad like that right now). I owe Sean an apology because I shot Olly. At the point where we were both within 1K of Kamy, it was going to be KoS from there on out and I didn't know what Olly looked like. Tex shot someone right before we ran into him, and we'd heard gunshots right beforehand. So basically it went down like all DayZ fights went down - everyone saw each other and shot a bunch and tried not to shoot the people on their side TOO hard. In an actual fight with both sides shooting and not an easy ambush someone not Sean or Olly shooting the other was always going to be a possibility. I dunno how that would work outside of sending everyone away and going showdown style.
  23. I'm on and in mumble if anyone wants to do some gear runs/learn some stuff/general tomfoolery. e: whoops false start, maybe a bit later. There were over 20 people on the server for the brief moment I was in it. Hopefully it stays relatively populated. Also feel free to friend/message me on steam whenever if you want to do a thing and I will try to respond.
  24. They straight up say "Hey don't expect frivolous things, like a salary". That's not a cheeky poking-at-self internet thing. Plus it puts them in a position where 2 years down the road someone's still at Introductory IT Wage and wants to petition for a raise and they can suggest with a straight face that not getting money was right in the job description and also they're an internet family. Yes, you should take a technical position at a small company with the expectation that you are going to have a lot on your plate, but it was (or should have been) a legitimate PR and HR nightmare. There might be some privilege in obtaining a job somewhere chic but there's no privilege in being overworked, underpaid, and then told you want it to be that way.
