I was thinking this. He's such a good podcast guest and host. Alex has also come such a long way from where he admits he was with comfort in front of microphones. I'm so excited to have GBeast get started on their podcast. I wish Brad didn't telegraph every email and bit of news. Don't tell me you're excited or reluctant to talk about something, talk about it!

This episode was chock-full of episode titles. The pressure is just having to choose one favorite child from all of them.

I have enjoyed things that I have seen on this show. I think I've missed something really important w/r/t cheese.

The OTHER other benefit of a 401k is that often employers will offer a contribution towards it. When I was with Comcast, if I remember the number, they would match up to 6% of your paycheck. So if my paycheck was $100 (not that far off from reality, ZING!!!) and I was allocating 6% to my 401k, $6 of that would be siphoned off the top of my paycheck pre-tax and go to that account. At the same time, Comcast would ALSO put $6 into the 401k. So while I would only receive $94 in income for that pay period, I would also only taxed on $94 instead of $100, plus $12 went into my 401k account. That's different for every employer, some don't offer it I'm sure, but it's a potential hidden bonus that so many people I worked with did not take advantage of due to only seeing their monthly income. So I had another conversation with the Operations VP this morning after sleeping on it. I offered up a new number and it sounded like he was receptive to it. On one hand, this is an income I can actually rationalize living with (and on I hope), and on the other hand the tepid resistance offered makes me think I should have asked for double the increase I proposed.

THIS GAME IS SO GOOD. I thought I probably wanted the soundtrack, and then after playing for two straight hours I knew I wanted the soundtrack so I own that too. The ability to watch a replay of everyone's daily challenge is incredible.

it is my own fault for not negotiating when I accepted the job as a temp position, but before they took it off the website I saw the job posting and the money was a range and not a set figure. I had no time to decide and was willing to do nearly anything to improve my job situation so I accepted the low end number. This offer would not even clear the top range they were offering as temporary. They've already expanded my job responsibilities, and I had no negative comments in my pre-hire review. I was genuinely stunned.

I invited Kelly up to my Chambers. I think I was attempting to romance Miranda, but then sided with Jack on one of the missions and lost enough Romance Juice that I think Jack was my only option between them. I may actually have ended up with Tali? ME2 was the only game I played through in its entirety. I played every origin story in Dragon Age, and so I think my main play through was as a lady but I'm not entirely sure. The DA database was not helpful; I probably lost the final save file to a corrupted hard drive or screw up somewhere. I'm pretty sure I ruined Alistair through decisions made, poor kid.

Excited to buy and play this now that it's full release.

I just had my "90 day" permanent hire evaluation at the job. They lowballed the fuck out of me. I am in a daze and don't know what to do.

If that's the case, then I share your concern. I haven't read anything about it, just watched the video after having heard it talked about on podcast. I find it conceptually weird that it's supposed to be "you" if who you are (or everyone around you) changes with every song or genre.

Does the fact that the band in Guitar Hero is supposed to be the analogue for The Black Keys, who are an extremely Ohio beardy-rock pair of white guys, have any bearing towards either reinforcing or allaying your concerns about the choices they made aesthetically about that band? The whole premise is it's supposed to be basically-but-not-really the musical artist of the song, right? So if in imagination land this was an FMV remake of the original Guitar Hero, I Love Rock and Roll would have a Joan Jett analogue and Take It Off would be a band of all ladies. Basically what I'm saying is my interpretation of the new video was not THIS IS YOU, but rather YOU ARE IN THE ROLE OF THIS PERSON which in that case was fake Black Keys guitarist. The thing that bugged me was that their fake Black Keys band was so far away from what the Black Keys actually are rather than you're a bro-y white dude. It would have been fine to me if that was Fall Out Boy or something closer.

Help I went to the running store and the running lady helped me pick out running shoes and I bought the running shoes and I'm trying them out by running today. What is happening to me. e: I did the running, and I don't hate myself. So scared.

I think the other hosts were sick of hearing about those games. I have the impression that there's a level of dissonance between what the people in the room can stand to hear or they perceive the listener can stand, and what the general audience will actually tolerate. It's not just with Idle Thumbs, I hear other podcasts self-censoring as well when there's no need. The reason I listen to your podcast is because I like listening to you talk about stuff. Don't curtail the part where you get excited to actually talk about the stuff!

What specifically would you like GB/Jeff to do? I'll grant you that there's always more that can be done, but they have certainly addressed it directly and indirectly. Jeff wrote an article last summer specifically stating GB's views, they talked about it on podcasts. Indirectly, Samantha Kalman has been on the Bombcast, Danswers, Bombin' the AM, Danielle was on Danswers and Bombin', Zoe Quinn was on Bombin'. Again, there is always more that can be done. I don't disagree. At the same time, their actions in support of diversty and against GG do exist. I have to wonder if their reticence is because they think delving back into it would be fanning the flames. I don't know, I can only speculate.

I like all of you, and I like all of you on the podcast. There are times when I will want to hear the perspective of a voice that's not there that week, but in addition to who's on, not in place of. If I have one podcast regret it's that there aren't enough Hot Scoops, but I know there's nothing you can do about that.

Oh man I'm excited about this! I like the splash screen already. Glad to be part of the team. How big would you like the images to be? My sister unearthed me as a smug high school senior, possibly the only time I've had hair that approaches likable.

People like to meet other people and seek companionship, even if it's brief.

I don't think game jam games need any project management, so I am way out of my depth to participate. If you need a team member to tell you what an awesome job you're doing and to continue kicking ass I am here.
