I am getting a new phone with a real, adult-sized amount of memory in it! I am excited to start gathering more podcasts and not have to trim so judiciously.

Anyone have an interest in dipping into the raid this weekend? I told my friend his punishment for goading me into buying a ps4 and Destiny is he had to do the raid with me. I suppose I can put an event up on the 100, but also posting here to gauge interest.

Yes. It cleared the fence by like 75 feet, and was ultimately the game-winning hit. It was preceded by one of the most emotional and bizarre half hours or so in playoff baseball ever. It was an insane, awesome reaction, and old people get mad so it's twice as good.

It took Blizzard 10 years to hit a point where leveling was anathema enough to the established player base that they offered a "boost to Level X" item. Destiny's already offered it in one year. The thing is though, the wall to scale doesn't exist for new players. It exists for established players who want a new character. If your game is tuned properly so you have story and content all the way through it, as a new player you should play that content. It's part of the game! It's (presumably) fun and interesting! You get to learn how Destiny works! Yo, have enough patience and self control to wait like TWO DAYS before you raid or whatever. I regret a very small amount using the level 25 booster thing right out of the gate. Even with the bad, weird, convoluted Destiny story, having played those story missions with another character is incredibly enlightening for what the fuck is going on, which is much more satisfying. e: probably should have said a new player should want to play that content, rather than they should do so. vvvv Oh man, good idea. There's a reason to hit those story missions. One of my class quests is to max Defender and it's tedious.

Well they didn't replace him with a groin, just a defective kicker. I am hoping his bad groin gets fixed to become a healthy one, for everyone's sake.

The Eagles might be 4-1 right now if their pro bowl kicker didn't literally tear every muscle in his groin (literally) and have to be replaced with a defective unit picked up in a back alley.

My experience as a new player leveling into the cap and upgrading rapidly is the only resources I have been bottlenecked by are spinmetal and relic iron (likely in part that I did not finish the story quests on Earth and Mars, and thus did not spend even the time needed to play the story missions there). Also legendary marks at first and exotic shards, but I imagine that's a problem that will eventually alleviate itself at some point. If they make upgrade resources a cash bottleneck they are making a huge fucking mistake, and deserve to die on that sword. I don't think they're that stupid though, and hopefully they can fund their event team selling things I have absolutely no compulsion to buy!

The first thought SOMA evokes for me is Brave New World. I haven't played the game. Is it supposed to be referencing that at all? Soma is apparently also a chain of stores that sell ladies undergarments in this region, according to Google.

I will be finished after this, but you're right, I was the dissenting opinion then and now. I'm not claiming otherwise, and that's fine. But it was certainly not because he was TOO in depth. He was literally contradictory in statements about team cohesion, communication, and practice. He did almost no talking whatsoever about strategy or insight into DOTA tactics. I would rather shit be way over my head, and it definitely wasn't. He was answering questions like softballs even when they weren't, hence my offensive lineman comment. And that's it! I'm done! Ah, cool. I hit a lucky streak yesterday and found Monte Carlo and Invective. Both look like Y2 upgrades rather than new weapons? They both seem to have perks that would work in PvP. Oh I also have Hereafter, which I immediately stashed in the vault because it was lower light than what I was using because maybe I'm dumb.

Yep, Last Extremity is the one I got. I really like the look of Hung Jury, it's just really goofy in neon green. What makes it the "crucible" version? In case the answer is something simple like "you get it from the crucible QM", I got it out of a random engram. Man, some of these perks are great and some are terrible. Triple Tap seems awesome, and Icarus seems completely awful. I got Replenish, which seems fine if situationally limited, as long as you remember it exists (by which I mean, 4th worst of these possible perks). What makes a good crucible weapon vs pve weapons?

First, congrats! I have done C25K a couple of times and never made it. I've made it all the way up to being able to do a mile in under 10 minutes, and being able to do two miles without stopping, but I've never made it the whole way to being able to consecutively finish a 5k without slowing to a walk. If you're looking for a new thing to keep you going... I'm pretty sure those people have the next step, up to 10k! :[ I have not been exercising regularly for a number of legit and not legit reasons for a bit now. It isn't reflected that much in my weight, but it is totally reflected in what I look like and how I feel. Like it's literally 1-2% of my body weight, and I feel different (and feel like I look significantly different). Also a tremendous amount of stress! Combine not exercising with stress, and I'm not sleeping, boom trifecta. It's awesome, y'all.

That's good to know. The one I got is exactly the same style as Hung Jury but neon blue and green. It looks fake in a way that all the other fake guns somehow don't look fake.

His answers were more bland than an offensive lineman's, without the media training to put a gloss on it. I seriously didn't learn anything about him, the team, or Dota. Such a frustrating show, and then I tried to express it in the thread and Sean got mad at me (probably justifiably) because I couldn't articulate properly that even their prompting questions couldn't save cruddy answers.

Did not get an opportunity to watch the games this weekend. Did check the results on the games for the last group. C9 holy smokes y'all.

Not even joking, joined Dead Orbit with my Warlock just in case. Once you own faction weapons, can you trade them? Doesn't matter that much, but I'm curious. I don't know what other people prefer, but I found myself really enjoying the "off" roles in the raid with mechanics other than (just) shooting stuff. What I'm saying is I enjoy both slamming AND jamming under the gaze of others.

That was very, very fun to do. I enjoyed myself, and hopefully wasn't too much of a pain! I was invited to a pub group who had a raid saved right where I had to go yesterday, and got that down, got to try Oryx a bit. That shit is bananas, though. Started getting raid turnover and bailed out. I also finally, finally got so I can stop whining about that.

Hey guys! How far did you get through the raid after I left? I know you got Golgoroth down and made it to the next encounter. I would have loved to stay but you know, life things.

SKT goes 6-0 in group to the surprise of literally no one. Interesting to see if Origen and C9 can go 2-1 or 3-0 in their second half of the group.

I know I am the one that is the weird, unpopular opinion haver here. Ever since the Dota Today episode AUI has struck me as kind of a whiny, boring child, and nothing that's been said or done publicly since then has caused me to rethink my position.
