Oh yeah. Trump was never going to win the nomination, but this is a definitive point people will be able to look back on and suggest it was the first step down the slope. http://i.imgur.com/Wuec3YK.jpg I mean, more a running jump off a cliff with no parachute, but hey.

The only person I've seen brush their teeth at work was a VP of sales. I think it could be a useful tool if you're putting your chompers in front of clients or other people you have to meet with. Leaving time on a microwave bothers me intensely. I would go as far as to say I hate it but I can't adequately explain why. It really irritates me, though. Similarly, people putting things on my chair. DON'T PUT THINGS ON MY CHAIR. Fucking seriously, people would walk past my inbox with a giant arrow pointing to it that says inbox to put things on my chair. Then they'd claim they didn't know I had an inbox. Cool, we've been working together two years. Even on my keyboard or whatever is fine. It makes me so mad, and I don't feel like it's an unreasonable request.

Correct. There's a $25 MEGA REINFORCEMENT BUNDLE or whatever. http://store.steampowered.com/sub/81596/ It's a $5 premium on just buying the Deluxe Edition, which I'm completely fine with for multiple reasons. 1) I don't really want all of it necessarily, 2) it's built in a way that you don't NEED any of it, 3) if I really do want a sweet new cape I'll pony up the money for it, 4) it'll be on sale at the end of the month anyway, c'mon guys. I am totally comfortable with my "Buy the game, choose to buy additional content at a later time" decision. If I want it all, it'll have been worth the extra $25. The outrage that an awesome little co-op game for $20 should never offer anything else for money is ludicrous. I wonder if a little bit of the 100%er mentality is in those negative comments. I've been downvoting them as I see them, but the game is still getting overwhelmingly positive reviews. I would pay $5 right this second for a DLC pack that gives me more than 4 barks. Liber-tea is already starting to wear a bit thin.

A couple of Korean pros made forays between SC2 and LoL, to very small fanfare. Grubby is awesome, definitely one of the less than handful I'd suggest actually did it I think one of the differences between physical sports and competitive gaming is you don't have to stop playing a video game. If you are a baseball/football/basketball player, at some point you have to go from one practice to the next practice and your parents have to take you there (as a kid). They have junior league seasons that have beginnings and ends. As much as there are stories about guys shooting 5000 free throws in a day or something, there are very few sports you can just play all day like you can with the games that have hit the pro scene.

After a series of small downloads in the last couple of days, I can no longer play the game. it stays stuck on one of the opening screens and does not move past it. Deleting and reinstalling the game does nothing.

So in a group of 4 (two pubs two on voice), we were able to do multiple Level 9 missions in a row. We tried level 12. I don't think you're adequately prepared for level 12. I sure wish I hadn't wasted points upgrading the stupid ass liberator, though. :[

Official Giant Bomb Thread Mostly for Complaining About Dan

Nachos are very fun, but there is something particular about constructing an actual food item to consume that differentiates the taco from just being lowly nacho components in a very positive way. Many of the best tacos are also not made of things I would put on a genericized nacho plate.- 1367 replies

It's also a reality check to remind one's self that even the most hateful visible parts of the worst fan bases don't represent the full amount. The people who are most upset are doing the most yelling. That doesn't make the worst parts better, naturally.

Something to this effect got mentioned on the Daft Souls podcast this week. They've previously praised the Destiny playerbase as basically being friendly and nice, because there's no communication system that's not opt in. With no way to call someone a slur on a regular basis, wordless interactions end up being friendly and helpful. When the December Destiny updates went through, people on Destiny websites were being whiny and awful about it and they went "Oh no this group is one of them, too!" Now, some of the updates were worth being annoyed with. But no one playing video games on the internet disagrees with someone and says "I'm upset let's have a discussion".

That's fine by me! The game of "Is Half-Life 3?" is worth more to me than the code for it on my computer at the moment.

Idle Thumbs 239: Trash Can Sally

Yessssss Thank you feelthedarkness, for opening Pandora's box of guild/clan names. My Call of Duty (1) clan was MCAU, which stands for Marine Corps Assault Unit. What a dumb name! So dumb. I remember we played on the TWL ladders, and there was this split between that and another ladder (OGL maybe?). It was a pretty close knit group. A couple actual Marines, one of whom lost his life in Iraq in 2004. Not even combat, it was a transportation accident. Such a stupid war. Miss you, Gunny. WoW guilds: The first guild I was ever in was Nightwind Riders, which was a bunch of guys from Chicago who got enough people together to form a clan. Such a 19yo WoW guild name. We eventually merged into another guild that was ultimately successful but with an even more generic fantasy name. Cult of Ythrl, a guild on the first PVPRP servers, where anything and everything could be a gift of inspiration from the all powerful Ythrl. Eventually merged with Famiglia Mariano, who were the rivals of... Famiglia Luigiano of course. Relax, a place where people could hang out and play a video game. SWTOR: Pretty sure it was That's No Goon. -
Those things are all supposed to be found secrets ala Spelunky. I don't really know how the portal to the crowns works even though I've had this thing a year (or however long). I THINK I do. There is another really big secret, yep. It's also ok to not like the game, though I do a good deal.

There is an audio cue that plays when there is one enemy left in the level to let you know there is one enemy left in the level.

Holy smokes I've never seen such wrong statements in this thread, and it's specifically about Dan being dumb and wrong. Mexican food is wonderful and tacos are great. Carnitas tacos do not look like something that came in a taco bell wrapper.- 1367 replies

I feel like people don't understand that you want to be somewhat close to your turret, not far away. It will happily aim right through you to shoot those big bad bugs, but everyone throws 4 turrets and then wanders away from them like they're an automatic safety net just because they exist. I am liking how you can very realistically create subclasses out of strategems and loadout. I've been trying to roll with shotgun, lmg, and resupply pack like a battlefield support. People don't actually pick ammo out of the pack, though. My mic doesn't seem to be working in this game. It's really irritating. Anyone else seeing that? e: please ignore I am biggest idiot.
-
Because people usually don't, or they know people expect them specifically to not do so.
-
It at least means they're happy with their balancing and stability to release a 1.0 version. That counts for something. It also means I need to unlock all the characters for real now.
-
If you think about it, Sarah Kerrigan is the OG "You're a squid now!" "You're a kid now!"
-
So far, so good! The ramp at the bottom is a little on the slower side than I anticipated, but I still know what's in store at the top levels. I successfully invaded SAM's game! We didn't hilariously shoot each other TOO much. The shotgun scared me at first, but it seems like it's pretty strong early.

Depends! CoH2 seems like it was a solid game on release, but not blow the doors off instant game changer like the original CoH. Did you play/like any of the Dawn of War games, or any smaller-scale tactical RTS games? Do you like the concept of the WW2 Eastern Front as a setting? I think one of the concerns was some people (RPS, 3MA - folks I trust) felt like the gameplay was good but the campaign wasn't all there, which has been allayed over time with DLC (which the bundle looks like it comes with). If you care at all about that type of strategy it's possibly quite exciting.
-
Wow, $12 a month is worth it just for CoH2.

Yes, and? So I went through this exercise when the Sony releases came out - it was completely cross play for sony devices. If you had a PS4, PS3, or a Vita for some reason you could play with everyone. I imagine they didn't start it that way from the ground up, and they might never be able to catch up.

Hello friends. I am anticipating a deep dive into a multitude of hells. Shall we?

I was hopeful whatever this "early weekend" thing was would unlock at midnight, but no dice.
