I requested a steam refund, the first time I have ever done that or even considered it. The game is buggy, unresponsive, the checkpointing is horrible, the map is unreadable, and the hitboxes are bullshit. The dash move only works about one out of six times, and guess what that's not good enough. If they can fix their game, I would certainly consider rebuying it. There were parts where I was enjoying myself, but those were moments cutting through the frustration rather than the other way around.

Oh Bernie staying in absolutely has an impact beyond just running for president. The best hope is galvanizing people who support him into more downballot democratic socialist support. And I'm not saying he'll be speaking at the convention for her, but they do have a big chunk of overlap in spaces of their political stances. They can be allies of one another going forward. I didn't think my primary would matter either, but here it is less than a month out and they're still in it. My vote matters, but a lot more people have already voted making my vote likely not for the winning candidate. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/its-really-hard-to-get-bernie-sanders-988-more-delegates/

That was Merle. The other two talked him out of it. Justin was the only one concerned with not killing any of the hammerheads (possibly due to non-remembering). I don't think he ever even said his alignment, but it would be kind of difficult to truly roleplay an evil character in their story.

If we're gonna go whole hog analyzing their show, some of that is his players' fault. A lot of the time when he creates non-combat situations for them to interact and roleplay they just immediately become dicks and then bored. At least they're consistent about it, to their credit. Justin plays D&D like it's Dark Souls and all the NPCs are just pillars to roll into barrels around. I would definitely feel constrained as a player, but listening to Justin ask if stuff will happen while STUFF IS HAPPENING is the most frustrating part of the show to me. The part where you roll dice is solidly less than half the D&D experience. My favorite single part of TAZ is still when they met Tom Bodett and had fun yard sprinkler times, and magically no one needed to chop something with an axe.

Idle Cook Club - Veggie Feeds-me: My Body Is Ready

Sorry everyone, we finally got the time to make the ramen! I feel guilty for not posting inside my own time window. It was super fun and good, I'll post pictures probably tonight. -
I like that they experienced actual adversity! I also chipped in. I'm listening to Travis's DM'd episode and I desire more of this. Griffin is also good at leading by playing, and Travis has constructed some cool stuff. Definitely listen to the bonus shit it's so good and Clint plays a fun character. They made backstories and stuff, it's amazing!

It sucks to try to just ignore it. I have advocated not doing that in the past, and now I'm just gonna because it benefits me and I don't like how hypocritical I am, but this is just a joy to play. We were running an instance with like 11 people yesterday because omg this game is broken in some fun ways. -

I didn't know that! The first 4 results I get for shepherd's pie have 3 using lamb and 1 using beef, with 1 of them SAYING beef in the description but lamb in the ingredients. Wikipedia suggests they are in fact exactly the same just with different names. Fun. -

That looks amazing! I'm really excited by everyone's presentation. If you enjoyed the eggs, they were not overcooked. A series of events have kept me from actually cooking the dish I suggested. We have already planned to make up for it this weekend, so it's coming! -
a series of actual performance upgrades is just more incentive to sell my consoles now

Twitch launched a cooking section of their network to complement the artistic section of creative. They're doing a Julia Child marathon by playing The French Chef. I have very definitely learned things. This is probably better than Bob Ross. https://www.twitch.tv/food

I mentioned this in the Slack channel, but the framing of something like this is important. It is not impossible for Bernie to catch up. That's true. But it's frankly very unlikely. I used this analogy. If you predicted a sporting contest where the percentage of winning was 55/45, that's a tossup. If you predict a political election to break that way, it's a thrashing. Bernie is further behind than 55/45. Again, I don't want to be a downer or a killjoy or anything like that. I think it's very important to have the proper framing. I'm not talking about anything but math. Mathematically in the sphere of politics he's really, really far behind. e: Clinton is ahead by more delegates than Obama was ahead at this point in 2008 https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/clinton-is-following-obamas-path-to-the-nomination/

I'll disagree slightly, in that Project BEAST causes actual knowledge to be learned, and that anything with Vinny in it has potential to create spontaneous insanity at any moment.- 1367 replies

I stayed up late enough that it is affecting me this morning fiddling with gun loadouts and One More Turn style extraction runs. I'm both an idiot, and that speaks to how the game's grabbed me. I still havent finished a challenge mode in three days, though. I think people are walking into it expecting a little climb in difficulty rather than a sheer cliff face. It's everyone's perspective, but it felt like there were times when I was the only one doing appreciable damage. Part of the reason I spent so much time tinkering with gun loadouts afterwards. -

Oh christ that sounds horrible. This may not be for you, but I absolutely enjoy grouping with others by myself (which is to say, taking my chance on the random matchmaking). The mission matchmaking has worked extremely well for me. The one caveat I would suggest is if you want to guarantee not to get matched mid-mission, go to the beginning of the "dungeon" and use the finder there. -

I'll answer your question first with a question. How are those things mutually exclusive? I like this game. I have put a lot of time into it already. I'm definitely towards the bleeding edge of available content, but even so we failed a challenge mission yesterday after it overwhelmed us. The dark zone is a unique experience in this genre, and offers a large degree of challenge both initially and solo. It depends on what you want from the game. There's easily 40-50 hours of content between story, side missions, and fiddling in the dark zone and that's without repeating anything discreet. That's not saying none of the side missions will overlap, but I mean you're not going to grind Madison Square Garden to hit level 7 before you do anything else. I disagree with all the outlets saying there's no story. There is an incredible amount of detail and world building that happens through side missions and intel pickups. One of the best characters in the game is April Kelleher, who I guarantee no review will ever mention. It's not Diablo-level replayability a week after launch, but there's a core game here good enough I want to have that. They've also already laid out their update plans for the year and the free stuff coming up front looks promising. -
The good news is the balancing to the mimic beacons literally won't affect me, because forget use them I've never even built them. The bad news is apparently I should have been using mimic beacons. Is the game running better for everyone? I've been way too deep in the Division to extricate myself and play anything else, but I know part of my reluctance to keep my game going was just the amount of time I had to invest with loading etc to even play a single engagement.

It was definitely the best. I'll say this - before Nick described his absolute iron willed refusal to engage with that game, I had no interest in Stardew Valley at all. Now that he talked about it, I kind of want to play?! It's funny, right before Jake talked about how Idle Thumbs was the worst for not evoking FC2, I was thinking about how proud I was that there was such an interesting and engaging discussion about a Far Cry game about it's own pitfalls and merits without mentioning Clint Hawking's Far Cry 2: Far Cry 2 at all. You're wrong Jake! You're 100% incorrect. -
Oh my god that's incredible. Wonderment is present in me. Sorry all, I'm siding with the robots.

I had a momentary twinge of concern that once I hit 30 there wouldn't be anything left, but roaming the north of the Dark Zone last night completely allayed those doubts. It is scary and brutal even without other teams of players. -

Hello everyone! It looks like it's time for me to pick a theme. Our new theme dish is going to be... RAMEN! We became interested and excited to try to make ramen, and it's something I occasionally crave but there just aren't any ramen places around where I live. We haven't even picked a recipe, and I've literally never made ramen besides what comes in the packet. We're just diving in! If you can't find any ramen recipes that appeal to you or aren't interested, then the broad swath of Asian noodle dishes is available as well. Your pho's, your pads thai, your soba, egg, and rice noodles. I'm excited!
