  1. The Swapper

I'm taking the opposite approach. This is the one true timeline.
  2. Life

Oh, I wasn't talking about the looks at all. Those are fine, though bland. The gameplay is what sucks. The minion turns being separate, and them just doing unreadable stuff at top speed, the lack of information overall, the arbitrary movement (off-grid seems like it is making a lot of trouble), no item shop that I could see so pure leveling, ugh... just Not Fun.
  3. The Swapper

    It could be an X?
  4. Rogue Legacy

    Loose and sloppy.
  5. The Swapper

I prefer this thread anyway. It has a certain je ne sais quoi.
  6. Games giveaway

I quite enjoy it. It's a super-slow-paced coop RTS at a massive scale (single player is also fun). The interface and mechanics take some getting used to though. I think of it as Total Annihilation meets Sins of a Solar Empire with some Tower Defence sauce.
  7. Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel

The idea of historical fiction having spoilers tickles my funnybone something fierce.
  8. Life

I tried it and holy crap is that game bad. The concept sounds absolutely perfect for me, and they blew it all on execution.
  9. Saturday Morning Streams

Great stream as always (caught the youtube unfortunately instead of live). Rogue Legacy, like Spelunky, is a game where I absolutely adore the idea but can't stand the gameplay. It's a testament to how much I love the idea then that I'm still playing Legacy. Chris, you were driving me nuts by not ever using a single spell btw.
  10. Half-Life 3

For me the amusement value of Half-life has been steadily decreasing with each release, so I'm safe.
  11. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

What a great story, Colourful Stuff. Thanks!
  12. DOTA 2

The new tutorial stuff just came out, it contains a lot of clever ideas, like making people do 1v1s against other newbies with a limited hero pool to pick from. Very cool.
  13. Favorite Game Of All Time

Oh, don't take me wrong, I enjoyed the heck out of it. It was such an arcane, weird experience, and then doing it frequently enough for it to become mundane was an interesting thing by and of itself. DM also is one of the cooler dungeons in general in my opinion with all the differently-messed-up wings.
  14. QUILTBAG Thread of Flagrant Homoeroticism

In other news, it is now illegal to give children any information whatsoever about homosexuality. On account of morals, ye ken.
  15. Rocksmith

Are you guys doing custom songs btw? There's some great stuff out there. http://forums.smithyanvil.com/viewforum.php?id=24&p=1
  16. Rocksmith

I doubt it's that nobody cares, there's just not much to say about this game except that it's awesome (with some annoying menu glitches).
  17. Discworld

Vetinari is the man you wish your nation's leader could smell like.
  18. Games You Keep Coming Back To

I've played one bot game of League of Legends per evening just for the first win of the day bonus for close to 2 years now. At least now that ARAM has become official I can do something similarly relaxing except against people.
  19. Games giveaway

Well, if that ends up happening I'm pretty sure I've still got a code that I can PM him. Bam! Faith restored.
  20. Twine Recommendations

Goddamn, that game kicked my ass and I'm reasonably sure I'm not depressed. But just reading some of those passages brought tears to my eyes, maybe because I find it so easy to imagine feeling like that, or that it's so close to myself in a not-too-far -removed universe.
  21. Favorite Game Of All Time

Doing Dire Maul Ogre King runs on my shaman until I finally got that bloody staff is one of my more enduring Hideo Game memories for sure. Running a casual guild without raiding and then getting best-in-slot non-raiding gear was a very interesting time.
  22. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

I wish there was an acronym for the glom of non-heterosexuality that didn't make me crave a sandwich.
  23. Feminism

This comic covers everything about holding doors open.
  24. Semi-recent food in my vegetarian casa that might inspire someone, idk: - Roast beetroot, rhubarb and small potato salad with feta and watercress (or spinach or other green to taste) - mexican-inspired casserole: layer of crushed nacho chips, layer of kidney bean/tomato/leek/mushroom/chili sauce cooked separately, layer of sour cream, layer of cheese, bung in the oven - black bean burgers served on buns with cheese, pickle, roast paprika, with rosemary/thyme fried potatoes on the side - pasta with siracusani-inspired sauce made from 3 or 4 paprikas of various colour, wine base, black olives and some tomatoes and capers - mahasha
  25. Nextbox 1080: The Reckoning

I have a CycloDS, but basically this. Not lugging superfluous chunks of plastic around is awesome. There's also a lot of fantastic homebrew for the DS, like Colors! I did on occasion do a try-before-buy though, and have used it to circumvent regional release dates.
