  1. Board Game Recommendations

I found Quarriors to be a cool idea but to have rather bad balance problems and too much randomness to my liking. I play way too many boardgames though so that might just be me being picky.
  2. Board Game Recommendations

Space Alert is unbelievably stressy to me, I enjoyed the chaos but it wasn't my cup of tea (I like to think about my actions). My favourite game to play when drinks are involved is probably Cash and Guns. If you like deckbuilding games like Dominion, I found Ascension to be excellent as well. Nefarious is a great rules-light game about being mad geniuses building stuff like space lasers and pheromone rays. It takes some tricks from Cosmic Encounter by breaking the rules in some ways every game. Finally, the best game to play with people who don't really play games is Dixit. It's sort of an interpretative storytelling version of Apples to Apples (also great fun).

    1v1 me at roshan bro
  4. Recently completed video games

You're wrong, and an outlier, and also wrong.
  5. Steam Trading Card

I think you're saying that due to exchange rates you're unable to make your price as precise as you would like in some cases?
  6. Steam Trading Card

Dear lord, is that one sentence!?
  7. I Had A Random Thought...

Then I'd make a Ledathepussy account.
  8. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Spells are easy mode in both Souls games.
  9. Steam Summer Getaway Sale

I have a spare copy you can straight up get if you want.
  10. Getting a phone

Google sells Android stock versions of both the HTC One and the S4 apparently. Getting stock android onto a manufacturer-sold one will never be as easy as that. Are you also considering a Nexus? I've heard great things about both the 3 and 4.
  11. LoL (League of Legends (Lords))

Yeah, he seems to be more in the Ez/Mf slot of slippery bastard, which is fine. His passive looks like it could be nutso-good especially. I've read that his ult works with Sword of the Divine, as well as scales with both AD and AP so it could turn real ugly. The spread in the EU and US are really different though. There's no VES/Curse in EU to bring up the definite bottom. The bottom teams in the EU are entirely capable of taking out the top ones if they have a good day.
  12. Books, books, books...

I will fight you re: Origin of Species
  13. Plug your shit

Hahaha, I love that. So many burning steppes.
  14. Books, books, books...

I found it to be a very strange read, coming to it as I did relatively late in life, having been interested in biology all that time. The book is written in such a different historical context, ie. it really feels the need to hammer home every point and make every argument as ironclad as possible. This is of course one of the reasons it has been so influential, but precisely because of its far-reaching influence it reads as overly-defensive and redundant in places. I caught myself thinking "well duh, everyone knows that" a lot, forcing me to recognise that, no, a lot of this stuff was far from mainstream when the book was written. That said, it's an excellent book and well worth the read because of its clarity of writing and the importance of the ideas. Especially amusing are the newer editions which contain Dawkins' complaints about his ideas being misused by Thatcher. A link on the latter: http://www.climate-resistance.org/2013/04/did-richard-dawkins-invent-thatcherism-and-environmentalism.html
  15. Steam Trading Card

Yeah if this keeps up I may be able to defray a bunch of the costs from the next sale. This thing is a goldmine for people who don't care about it (kind of ironic, maybe?)
  16. Dota Today 5: With Brad Bot Shoemaker

Yeah, I can confirm this. This relaxed island play has finally gotten me to try and get at least tolerably good at last-hitting in this monstrous game, and it's helped a ton. Plus I got a sniper hat!
  17. Rogue Legacy

I can sense this vague air of disappointment that there's not really much to be offended about re: this game's use of 'gay'
  18. Looking for free C++ game engines

Is Eclipse for C++ not mature yet? I've only used it for Java so far, and only recently used Vstudio for C# but Vstudio for C# at least is miles, miles worse than Eclipse is for Java. I would expect the C++ Eclipse to be good also by now.
  19. Movie/TV recommendations

Oh yes, Network is amazing. It's aged super well.
  20. Catching up with you "retro wishlist".

We have a Hatsworth copy you can probably get. I'd have to check with the missus.
  21. Dota Today 5: With Brad Bot Shoemaker

For League of Legends my day9 equivalent is Studio - http://www.leagueofstudio.com/ Unfortunately he is now not putting much out these days because he is coaching the Velocity team that just got into the Riot-run LCS tournament series.
  22. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

I am in 100% the same place actually. I was also feeling weird about it, but I'm intending to only watch the documentary once the game is out.
  23. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

Gone Home featuring Steam Workshop! Create your own left-behind postcards!
  24. Life

    Yes, if you're not Dutch.
  25. Books, books, books...

I found flipping to the footnotes in the paper book to be infuriating so I imagine an ebook can only improve.
