Boulet being awesome as always

While I love this game, I'm not good enough at it to get to the parts that sound interesting(nor likely to invest the time to become so). Basically as soon as shooty enemies show up I die horribly almost immediately, even with armour.

I miss that sloth, JonCole

It's a service for people who have realised that time is the enemy.

I think online dating (or more properly, potential partner-selection) makes a lot more sense than the real-life version in a lot of ways, because it allows selection from an unimaginably much larger pool to find someone whose interests and goals are a lot more likely to align with one's own. Similarly for brief flings, obv It just feels more smart and honest somehow. PS Good luck!

I cannot believe people are still responding, frankly. I think it speaks well of their patience and hope, but man alive, I couldn't do it anymore.

It's kind of interesting to me that this is one of the first roguelikes I've played that I don't really want to look up spoilers/guides for just to get me started. I feel the encountering the unknown part is integral to the theme. I look forward to getting into this more. The movement feels really good to me somehow too, and I love how fast the attacks are.

Can you kill the black blobby tentacly enemies? They absorbed all my bullets and daggers

Oh, it's so much more than that

Architecture Student attempts video game (hilarity ensues)

Kudos on putting this out there, that takes chutzpah. It looks fascinating. Are ultraviolets one step above ultradaisies? As far as the Garden of Eden theme goes, that gives you a bunch of fixed elements that you can incorporate or subvert as you please. The futuristic setting already does so in part. So what are you thinking to do with Adam, Eve, the snake, the garden's master? As well as showing the pre- and post-ejection environment? There's a lot of cool things that could happen here. -
I would say that it's possible for a person who is engaging in an act of persuasion is part of a larger coercive system. But it should be noted that coercion, like any other harmful act, is not necessarily immoral (see parenting and indeed law-enforcement for example).
-
Yes, because there is harm originating from the coercer, and they will be harmed if they don't agree with the offer. I agree that there's probably loopholes but I don't think this is one. On a side note, framing anything regarding a discussion of coercion in terms of a slave/slavery is a bit confusing, because slavery is coercive prima facie.
-
I've always operated under these broad definitions: Persuasion: getting someone to do something by convincing them that there is a benefit to them. Coercion: getting someone to do something by convincing them there will be harm to them (usually originating with the coercer) if they don't.

Episode 233: Enemies Within and Twilight Struggles

For the US I guess it's different. I'm talking from the perspective of having the Anne Frank house in my country -
Sententia, in your case coercion is defined as 'the person being coerced feels coerced (albeit possibly subconsciously)' which is accurate to a certain degree but too vague to be really usable. I think 'force' definitely has a place in any honest definition of coercion by the way. Whether the force is physical or circumstantial has no bearing on the coercive aspect if you ask me.

I think this thread is the one you want (already has some stuff in it if memory serves): https://www.idlethumbs.net/forums/topic/7898-san-francisco-residents/ Good luck!

Episode 233: Enemies Within and Twilight Struggles

I don't think this is the case. The Holocaust has such iconic status that I find it hard to believe that it will pass out of the forefront of knowledge so quickly, especially given how much WW2 is in the focus of games and media still. Plus the continued availability of footage etc. which has not been largely the case for atrocities wars predating WW2. The 'edge' will be off but the knowledge will not (I expect) be as vague as you say. Still, an interesting point to make. -
Lovely article by Bissell as always. Haters don't get it.
-
And thanks for proving mine. How appropriate! (you fight like a cow)
-
This really grinds my gears as well. It's incredibly irritating.
-
There's not even an argument as far as I can tell, just a vague complaint.
-
Fine, block your ears, I'll just block you then.

You keep saying this, but you have yet to show that this is a significant enough fraction to even be worth discussing in the first place. It's a massive derail over nothing, that only serves to make you look antifeminist, frankly.
