  2. Life

Welp, off to Poland to chill with the inlaws. I'll probably be dicking around on my laptop more rather than less while there, haha.
  3. Idle Thumbs Accompaniment?

I listen to podcasts while I'm out and about town, or when cooking or cleaning.
  4. Far Cry 2

If you "play to win" it is unlikely that you will actually enjoy Far Cry 2.
  5. Video Game Baby - Idle Parents

Angry Birds and Minecraft are the biggest successes of that kind among children of four that I know. e: android tablet games
  6. Video Game Baby - Idle Parents

Have you had that discussion with the parents yet? I don't know how much I should be reading into your posts, but from your tone I gather that you're not really looking forward to playing computer games with him. In which case that's pretty much the worst idea to do because you'll be miserable which he'll pick up on and, well, it doesn't strike me as a very fruitful way to build any kind of relationship with a relative. Basically, try to think long-term where kids are involved because they are the ultimate long-term thing.
  7. Tone Control Ep 5: Tom Bissell

Steve you're doing an amazing job with these. Thanks a lot, I love listening to such discussions. I always love hearing Michael Abott, I hope you poked him to start putting out episodes of his own again.

I agree, a lot of the introductory material rubs me the wrong way as well.
  18. Feminism

I found this talk transcript to be quite thought-provoking at least as regards the outliers perspective of gender comparison.
  19. Stick it to the man

Did the Psychonauts art team quit Doublefine or something?
  20. Idle Thumbs 134: Sports

Got motivated and sent in my own virtual economy story about Pox Nora. Probably too long to read on the cast, but we'll see I guess.
  21. Video Game Baby - Idle Parents

This is something you really should discuss explicitly with the parents because it's unhealthy for the child and it's distressing to you. The tip of taking video game content out of the computer is a great one if you want to solve this by yourself. I'd definitely advise getting the parents in on this though.
  22. Books, books, books...

I adore Roald Dahl. Extremely creative and twisted. Some of the most enjoyable short stories I've read.
  23. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

If you look at the handwriting, that's actually only one Greenbriar. The others are not quite so tasteful.
  24. Your Favourite Book This Year (2013)

Maybe it's my rather superficial knowledge of Latin-American history that's to blame. Apparently the story becomes good if you can detect all the historical parallels? Without that knowledge, it's a very sad and confusing history of people doing random stuff that doesn't tend to work out. I mean, that's life but I already knew that. Don Quixote though, man that's great. Made me want to learn Spanish. Also Borges <3

Heck, you can make a formula/function that draws itself.
