I'm running faith/dex dipping into str for lightning weapons. I just had to, once I got the beanpole.- 1284 replies

Hearthstone: Because what Magic really needed was F2P mechanics

I'm not sure what you're asking. Does this answer the question? http://hearthstone.gamepedia.com /Level -

Note that it shows your character name rather than your steam name in game btw.- 1284 replies

I very rarely concede because I operate under the assumption that the opponent is, like me, a fallible fleshbag who is prone to fucking up sure victories. It's won me a few games. -

Man, this game. I took the past two days off from work (the two weekdays where the kids go to daycare) and just deep-dove. I'm past the first boss in Drangleic Castle, having pretty much fully cleared all the areas before it. It's been a lovely, lovely journey so far. It's just so rare for games to genuinely surprise me these days and the Souls games still manage to do so even after hundreds upon hundreds of hours invested so far, and the end apparently still isn't even in sight for me from what I've read between the lines. The multiplayer (both coop and PvP) has also been amazing, such an improvement over the previous games.- 1284 replies

I watched Trump's stream quite a lot when I was playing, and that plus a reasonably large amount of Mgic experience made it so I could reliably make my gold back from arenas. Good times. -

So far I've found at least one (nautically-themed) area where using the torch made a huge difference.- 1284 replies

A lot of Dark Souls design/theme hinges on the idea of infinity and obsession. Due to NG+ being a thing, any single character can eventually do all the things, which means that it is OK to have players make mistakes with far-reaching consequences within a given playthrough. Further, any character in the game who strives for something will go hollow once they no longer have that obsession driving them.

The place where the game begins. You can get back there by hopping off the elevator from firelink to the gargoyle cathedral and then doing another jump to the central tower with the raven's nest on it. It's fun to go back and see what changed since you left!

As far as I'm concerned the Forest is as least as clever as the Undead Burg and has an excellent encounter diversity. Only the turtle knight branch feels a bit tacked-on. It's just really hard to impress somebody as much with something good the second time. What mainly impresses me about 2 so far is that they've managed to keep the quality up.- 1284 replies

The PC does not suffer from the blighttown issues. The biggest tip for Blighttown is to use the spider shield as it blocks 100% of poison/toxic. It's also a good idea to head back to the Undead Sanctum before ducking all the way to the Blighttown bottom because there's a ring there that lets you run in knee-deep water which is a godsend. You can get more moss from either the undead merchant lady in the aquaduct between the Depths entrance and Firelink, or you can easily get a bunch by killing the treants in darkroot.

If you're up to gaping dragon you should already have enough materials plus the large ember so that you can take your weapon higher than +5.

I'm so happy to see some actual gameplay footage - that was my main criticism of the kickstarter first pitch - it left me super sceptical about the game itself. Now those worries are largely gone. Glad I backed it

I just had to buy a big screen for this. My 15 inch laptop screen was fine for me so far but this game just demands real estate. 27 inch go! A lot of the sluggishness goes away with ADP at about 20 I found.- 1284 replies

Stayed up to midnight to wait for the unlock just to see it boot and kill the starting giants. It was crazy seeing the total deaths on the obelisk at only 10k. I took off two days next week when the kids are at daycare. Dark souououuuuuuls.- 1284 replies

For titanite demons you want to circle them counterclockwise with a good stability shield just in case. Most of their swings should end up going over your head. Then you roll away when they do their jumping move. Alternatively you can cheese most of them with ranged attacks if you bait them into bringing out their inner LARPer and doing their lightning bolt spam.

I'd advise holding off on int and faith for a new character each because they're msot fun when you can contrast them against a previous playstyle (in my opinion anyway). Pyromancy is completely separate from character stats as you know so you can just fold it into whichever build you feel like.

I have the great good fortune to live in the same town as Rein de Graaff. He's gotten most of the jazz greats to come play with his trio over the years, and I tried to catch as many as I could.

Budapest is by far the Anderson film that has the most depressing, horrendously gruesome shit going down. The presentation does a lot to disguise it, but man I came out of that film with some sever cognitive dissonance at having laughed and been entertained so much.

Is there any point or history to that?

I play Ingress, Androminion, Threes and Shattered Planet on my phone atm. Nothing all that interesting.

Man, the archers are so much easier. A known quantity from a known direction is way easier to deal with. I'd estimate I've died to the spoilers approximately twenty times as often as to the archers.

I quit discussing the reasons for being a vegetarian ages ago. It's a lot less controversial of course, but it's just such a pointless, dull conversation. Didn't make me quit though. But I understand the desire.
