Lovely article. I didn't take the argument from it that disturbing content is culpable, but rather that it removes barriers or creates impetus that otherwise wouldn't be there. Culpability seems like too strong a term for that to me.

The WoFF guys are known associates of at least some of the Thumbs and the video games Hotdog guys. Podcasting cabal, yo. Danielle was on a recent episode of bonfireside chat for example. Good times.

The whole point is that you don't get your money's worth out of it when you're healthy - that money goes to people who desperately need it! It's certainly true that the NHS has been set up to fail by a lot of successive governments who would rather see its budget disappear into their cronies' pockets but that's hardly a knock on the system. The Netherlands used to have a collective health service and now it's all privatised insurance companies that make millions and millions of euros of profit from the obligatory health insurances everyone how has to take out, none of which money goes into the state coffers. It's disgusting.

Treating yoself with a trip as sort of a compensation could be a very good thing.

I think this is wise. Sorry to hear about your crappy situation Speedy. That's an amazing amount of mixed messages to get and have to untangle. But I can't imagine going on a trip with someone I have feelings for that she's already said she doesn't want to go on. That's just setting everyone up to have a miserable time. Not sure how helpful this is, but I get the feeling from what you wrote that she actually wanted you to manoeuvre things into a relationship and is now upset because that didn't happen and is taking that out on you. Definitely someone who doesn't know her own mind. Here's hoping things work out somewhat okay at least.

Take it to the pedantry thread

I have to say I believe Fnatic were also experimenting a bit with stuff like the Tahm Kench pick. Good idea to get your oddball strategies fire-tested while the stakes are still relatively low.

Windows 10: "It wouldn't be right to call it Windows 9."

I'm so sorry Badfinger, you've had a horrible time of it. I guess I should thank my lucky stars I had a 99% painless upgrade from 7 to 10. The only thing I had to do was upgrade my trackpad drivers and wrangle a buttload of privacy settings. -
I don't think this is weird at all, at least it goes for most people I know.

This (and Flower) are out on PS4 as well.

Esports Today 8/4/15: Looking to TI5, Predicting the LCS Playoffs
osmosisch replied to Chris's topic in Esports Today Discussion
The second part already got addressed (Origen), but re: the wildcards, the Worlds for League explicitly always has a couple of wildcard teams that are determined via play-ins clustered per region. Last year one of those wildcards (Kabum e-sports) even ended up playing spoiler for Alliance which I found endlessly amusing. -
Congrats! A lovely babby In the Netherlands, you go home as soon as you can move (or just deliver at home in the first place) - but the trick is that then a nurse comes and helps around the house for at least a week. The idea is that being at home is better for everyone involved.

I think SJW became popular at about the same moment white knight started to wane in usage for whatever reason. At least that's how it felt to me. A new "ironic" label for people who care about women on the internet.

Yeah he's not great

It's in some sense an unfair comparison in that Riot runs this stuff all year round and has a lot of time and opportunities to iterate. On the other hand, they actually stepped up and decided to do so. It might be good for Dota in general and TI specifically to have Valve take a more active role in tournaments/the scene besides the once-a-year thing. I dunno. It's also cool to have more tournaments than just the official ones which teams can actually go to because they're not locked into a league with games each week for the majority of the year. Things like the IEM series, Lone Star Clash etc. are a lot more exciting if a lot of top-shelf teams show up.

Riot really beats Valve as far as post-game analysis goes, they have cool weatherman screens and have players talk the audience through their teamfights, stuff like that. I hope Valve picks up on some of that.

I gave up at 3 AM when it looked like game 3 was lost for EG. I don't precisely regret my decision (watched the VOD in the morning unspoiled) but holy moly, what a series. Shame game 4 was a bit weaker, but wow. Best TI in ages, maybe ever. It was also in my mind more than ever a tournament about the offlaners/supports. Universe, Zai, Aui_2000, lanm, rOtk, these are the names whose plays stick with me much more than the carries this time around.

I use insert a bunch, though mostly in keystroke combinations.

LGD vs EG was truly amazing, so close. I'm tempted to stay awake for the finals :/
