It's probably the metric system messing you up

Er no, 1024 times 1024 (mega = million)

Maybe trick Speedy Desiatio into seeing it instead. That guy, psh.

Mieville's City and the City is my favourite work of his. It's got a fascinating premise, and instead of making it the focus of the book, it's a mysterious backdrop/ingredient for a more simple story. Lovely writing as well.

My mother took me to mensa when I was small and bored at school. While they did have some interesting puzzles, the kids there were just as socially awkward and snooty as I myself was, so I didn't enjoy it and refused to go back.

Yeah it is. I couldn't resist ducking in (I like the chalices). -

Oof, that will suck, I'm so rusty I had to give up on the Undead Giant of all things. -

I bought the expansion and have been trying to find where the bloody thing even starts, haha. It's been fun to come back to the game to be honest. I lost my previous character due to switching profiles so I'm just going in blank again. It's a good feeling. -
Bristleback maybe kind of if you squint?

There's fewer lords on the field, but one of the lords is ~2x as strong as a regular one. It costs some mobility but makes for great pushing power.

The legs are doing the hard part btw. Positioning is king in all LoMas.

They're currently running a thing where you can ride along with someone who owns cho'gall as the other head even if you don't have him, and if you win two games together you also get the hero for your account. Once you have him, the quest turns into a big chunk of gold reward for spreading the love to two other players. It looks like they really want to push this guy. I can't blame them, it's a very unique and fun design. I had a lot of fun (and some frustration) earning him with a friend.

To be honest, this is how all the forums I've stuck around in for any length of time have operated. Misetings and its offshoots, Somethingawful...

For what it's worth, I never would have played LoL for as long as I did if it didn't have the currency/unlock model, because I like taking my time to unlock functional stuff like that. I popped in to play at least a bot match every day for about half a year, and it was always a very nice tension when the currency was starting to build up to the point that I could go 'shopping' for a new Lord to unlock. It definitely adds something to the experience. HotS and Hearthstone with their daily quest system are improving on this model even further I think. I've got a gigantic aversion to paying for stuff in F2P games in general, because their exploitative nature tends to put me off. But games that are good enough under the hood I have no trouble paying for some content occasionally, I've spend approx. $50 on LoL, and have bought the two most recent adventures in Hearthstone with cash. That's also about it as far as fun enough F2P games I've tried though.

I'm pretty sure that's part of why they have the system they have. Beyond that, in League unlike HotS there's a pretty large selection of simple yet powerful heroes that are available for a pittance - the equivalent of approximately 3 victories (450 IP) or three times that (1350). They've done a great job of keeping the early heroes relevant so you can put together a strong roster without that much time invested. There's a pretty informative spotlight video available for each hero, but unfortunately no try-before-you-buy feature like in HotS. That would be a great addition. It's not a perfect system, but it definitely serves a subset of the player base more to have a slowly increasing champion pool than the bewildering array of choice that Dota offers.

Not really, if you play for fun there's only a subset required, same to be competitive. Their rune system on the other hand, woof.

HOTS... no the other HOTS. The Lords Management one damn it!
osmosisch replied to Frenetic Pony's topic in Video Gaming
Oh, I do apologise. That's how it was during the beta, they've since changed it. I was going on old information. Raynor's a great buy, strong and not too complicated. Valla is also excellent. -

He's free to play every single rotation so unfortunately that gold could have been better spent, sorry. -

I think in this community it only makes sense, being mostly comprised of excellent people; I wouldn't just post my IDs in most other places. -

I nabbed Cho'Gall with a friend, so if someone still needs them, I now have a quest to spread the love to two other people. I'm in the multiplayer ID thread google doc thing (as you all should be). -
- An ice spider crawls over its web, wrapping and eating snowflies/flakes as they land. Build your combo by getting to each one in time! - a QWOPalike where you control a wizard's wand from first person perspective surgeon simulator style; anything it touches is turned into a snowball. - Realistic Hogwarts Simulator: objects are tossed at your avatar, possibly by Jake-o Rodfoy; type the correct spell to prevent them from hitting you! (ie. VITAINVENIEVIA to stop Goldblum's sniggering head). - ???

.. you don't have to?

As far as I'm concerned, Bethesda is free to blacklist Kotaku, who in turn are free to publish anything they receive from any source, and are also free to share the fact that they've been blacklisted. I think blacklisting a site in general is a shitty move, but meh.

I don't know about anyone else but I've not got a team yet; if I get no bites I'll see what I can come up with on my own I guess. Maybe an up-to-date index of people still looking + skills could help?

Divinity: Original Sin is one of the neatest recent elemental combat games next to Magicka. Make poison clouds, explode them with fire, then throw an ice ball in the fire which melts, creating a puddle which you then hit with lightning etc.
