Absolutely agree with Banks on this. I've always thought of games like this as me being the omniscient influence in the course of action, it's my story to weave. In fact, I think having to incorporate some type of lore of established fiction would inhibit my ability to get absorbed in the game. I walked away from this podcast quite awed by how important it seems to be to Rob, Troy and Julian. I'm now going to read the review, if it's available, of Zacny's.. and I'm almost certain his angle is going to piss me off a bit.
