  1. Did anyone ever have these "game too hard to beat" issues with PC games growing up? I feel like usually there was just a cheat code or something back when I was a kid if I was having issues.
  2. Star Wars Episode 8

I think Kylo Ren is my favorite too. The new movies have a great crop of amazing people - I love Finn, Rey, and Poe, and Hux and DJ and so on... - but Ren is a step above. In a lot of ways he's everything Anakin could've been. Anyways, I don't love this article, but I don't hate it, and it's maybe worth reading because it's short, so check this out.
  3. SHOWCASE WEEKEND // Welcome Thread

Stream finished! You can watch it here. I ended up playing most of the games in the Jam, so scrub on through to find your favorite! I'm a Twitch Affiliate now which I think means the video will stick around for a while (maybe forever??).

    I still haven't seen a lot of 2017 movies, like (from your list) 25 through 21, 18, 11, 10, 8, 7, 5, or 3 through 1. But here's my top 25, with scores out of 100 after each of them: 25. Wind River - 79 24. Wonder Woman - 80 23. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri - 80 22. Logan Lucky - 80 21. The Lego Batman Movie - 80 20. Ingrid Goes West - 81 19. The Big Sick - 81 18. Baby Driver - 82 17. Spider-Man: Homecoming - 83 16. Get Out - 84 15. The Disaster Artist - 84 14. The Shape of Water - 84 13. Atomic Blonde - 85 12. Thor: Ragnarok - 86 11. Mother! - 86 10. A Ghost Story - 87 9. The Florida Project - 87 8. Good Time - 88 7. Colossal - 88 6. Princess Cyd - 90 5. Logan - 90 4. Star Wars: Episove VIII - The Last Jedi - 92 3. Dunkirk - 96 2. Blade Runner 2049 - 96 1. Okja - 100
  7. Wolfenstein II: It's a Blastkowicz

I've been playing through this and enjoying it a ton. I am a huge fan of the first game and this is basically more of the same. The tone is a little broader - there's a bit more humor, and the pacing is very slightly slowed down from the insane kineticism of the first game, which gives things more time to spread out, metaphorically speaking. The shooting is still excellent and it's almost scary how cathartic it is to be killing Nazis in America in today's political climate. My favorite character is still Set, who throws even more Yiddish into his lines this time and who gets to shoulder a lot of the humor. For a while I was sort of making the game less fun for myself because I was playing in ways to specifically unlock those perks, but now I've basically unlocked them all so I just play how I want, which is what I should've done all along. I usually go around stealthily until getting revealed at which point it's dual wielded weapons and lots of booms until nobody is moving anymore. If your game is crashing, turn off Async Computing. Mine was crash-central until I did that and now it's rock solid.
  8. SHOWCASE WEEKEND // Welcome Thread

I'm pretty sure I'll try streaming a bunch of games on my channel. Don't have a schedule yet.
  9. I'd say it's pretty close to the two System Shock games, which I guess are sort of between BioShock and Deus Ex if you play Deus Ex in a way where you don't shoot a lot of people. Deus Ex can be played as a shooter though so it's sort of hard to know what exactly you mean. If you're asking whether you can use stealth to get around all the enemies, I think the answer is mostly no, but sometimes yes, whereas in BioShock it's always no. So maybe that answers the question.
  10. More like BioShock or DX:HR how?
  11. Star Wars Episode 8

Even the first time I watched it, I didn't get that impression at all. I thought it was pretty obvious that:
  12. Dead Cells

I made it to the Forgotten Sepulcher for the first time today! I was streaming, actually, if someone wants to go find the VOD and scrub through to find it. Spoiler for what happened to me:
  13. Tune in next week when we here the story from Nick, whose new Canadian hairdresser told it like it happened to one of her customers.
  14. Dead Cells

When this won RPS's GOTY I bought it and I've been enjoying it a ton. I've gotten much better at it over the 15 hours I've played, although I still haven't beat a second boss. I think my single complaint is that the shields take too long to block after you hit the block button. I guess I could learn the timing but frankly I just find it too much of a pain. I suppose they would be too powerful if they worked instantly, but the way they feel right now is not great IMHO. Aside from that this game is great. edit: I take it back I have three issues. The first is the shield thing. The second is that giving you a randomly generated set of equipment at the start is silly because you can just restart until you get what you want, but that's tedious and frustrating. Just let me pick, or don't give me stuff at the start. The third is that the optimal way to play is to only unlock blueprints for your favorite equipment. But that sucks. I don't know what my favorite equipment is until I unlock a blueprint and try the stuff out. Now that I know the Spartan Boots or whatever are trash, it's too late to do anything about it unless I restart entirely.
  15. Wolfenstein II: It's a Blastkowicz

I think the game's difficulty is basically fine, and I played it on Hard or whatever, but I can see why that courthouse fight (which I also think is what everyone's referring to) would kick people's asses. I had to try that like six or eight times at least before I made it through.
  16. Star Wars Episode 8

I didn't feel like Finn and Poe had nothing to do at all. I didn't feel like that the first time watching, but the second time watching really cemented how central they are to the movie's central theme:
  17. Star Wars Episode 8

Just saw it for a second time. The first time I really really liked it, but it definitely felt a little disjointed and packed to the gills with lots and lots of stuff. The second time it really held together as one focused, cohesive whole. All the themes were even clearer the second time around and I really appreciated it more. It's also probably the prettiest Star Wars movie and also very excellently shot. If you compare it to, say, a Marvel movie, the action scenes where lots of things are going on are way more readable and pretty. For instance: Fisher's face did not look weird to me (and this is coming from someone to whom Peter Cushing and Carrie Fisher in Rogue One looked like plastic garbage robot humans who would never fool me for a millisecond) but who knows, I guess.

Santa owns all the stores that parents buy their gifts at. So technically all those gifts are from him.
  19. Star Wars Episode 8

I'll have to watch it again and stare very closely but I recall her looking normal.
  20. Battlerite - You got your WoW arena in my Lords Management

Yeah it's mentioned in this video by some asshole

Last night I was seized by a strange desire to buy and play this. I didn't buy and play it, but the seed has been planted.
  22. Star Wars Episode 8

Porgs were designed to deal with the fact that there were puffins on that island and it was too much of a pain in the ass to remove them completely.
