  1. Idle Thumbs Criterion Film Club?

Yes, pretty much any browser. You just change your default search engine to Bing (or laboriously go to Bing.com each time...) and away you go. Use a referral link if you want, although I guess I don't need the points and I'm not sure if it boosts your account at all. I've found Bing to be almost as good as Google - if you fuck up your typing and enter every litter one to the left on accident or something, Bing isn't smart enough to figure it out, and those weird queries like "movie 90s pizza land shark" work better on Google than on Bing, but aside from that I've had no problems swapping to Bing and the free Hulu+ is pretty nice.
  2. Idle Thumbs Criterion Film Club?

If anyone wants free Hulu+, you can sign up for a free two weeks via the Idle Thumbs promotion, and in the meantime do the Bing thing, and by the end of two weeks you should basically have enough points for a free month, and then you can keep doing the Bing thing forever.
  3. Catlateral Damage

JazzPunk had a minigame that was this.
  4. The F Nick Breckoncast

  5. Far Cry 4: A grenade rolls down everest

I'm getting at "the game won't look like that."
  6. Far Cry 4: A grenade rolls down everest

"Screenshot." If that's a screenshot, here are some Far Cry 3 screenshots:
  7. That's a really long tweet.
  8. Far Cry 4: A grenade rolls down everest

Those elephants are like "motherfuckers painted all this shit on me, time to take a shower."
  9. Jiff?

Is it hard to get actual peanut butter in Sweden? I can go to a store here in America and buy multiple brands of peanut butter with an ingredients list that is just "peanuts" or "peanuts, salt."
  10. Far Cry 4: A grenade rolls down everest

video games. you can get one in video games.
  11. Far Cry 4: A grenade rolls down everest

When they assault the fortress in that video does it start off with the player spraying MG-42 bullets at a couple of civilians? That struck me as a little weird.
  12. Anyone know his way around federal labor laws?

i thought that's what we're talking about here
  13. Well, the point of him talking about a year+ old development build would be to get his opinions on it, which are just as relevant to me as his opinions on a current development build that I am also not going to play.
  14. From the perspective of listing things that need fixing to make the game better I don't really see what the difference is. It just sounded funny to hear Nick say "here are some obvious flaws that need to get fixed for the game to get better" even though the game isn't done, then refuse to do the same thing later on. I'm not sure how having paid to play one game makes it any more sensible to list flaws that I'm sure the developers want to fix as much as anyone.
  15. I thought it was a little funny that Nick ragged on The Forest or whatever for not quite having it all together and then later in the episode doesn't want to comment on having played Wolfenstein while it was still in progress because it was super unfinished back when he played it. I mean, I don't give one one millionth of a shit about The Forest - all I know about it is what was said in the podcast, because I don't like horror games and also it struck me as vaguely racist when I first saw it so I've been ignoring it - but a lot of Nick's criticisms seem sort of misplaced given that the game isn't even done yet. He would say stuff like "yeah there's some good stuff there but they really need to capitalize on it" and I'm thinking "presumably that's what will happen when the game is done."
  16. Who are your personal heroes?

Malcolm X and Socrates are the only people who fit into the "personal hero" category for me, I think. Personal heroes have to be people I find not just inspiring but also charismatic, because I find plenty of people inspiring but for whatever reason I don't think the hero tag works for them. Like, someone who cooks a really good pot of soup would be inspiring but that wouldn't make them a personal hero for me, I feel like. I dunno. I don't spend a lot of time thinking about personal heroes.
  17. Employers requesting username for Steam?

This is why I have a shadow Steam profile.
  18. Movie/TV recommendations

Zizek is a philosopher like the people who tell you that you can control the universe with your mind because of quantum energy are physicists. What Zizek actually does is media criticism with words that philosophers sometimes use, not actual philosophy.
  19. Movie/TV recommendations

    Famed "philosopher."
  20. Idle Food - Cooking!

For April Fool's Day I turned my gaming YouTube channel into a cooking channel - I guess I could post that here.
  21. Movie/TV recommendations

It's weird that the exact same thing happened to two of your friends.
  22. BattleCry

These days unless a multiplayer game like this is either knock-it-out-of-the-park popular (Battlefield, Titanfall, Counterstrike, Call of Duty) or fits into a cool weird small niche (Natural Selection 2, Insurgency) it just tends to die. We'll have to see if BattleCry can hit one of the two highs - otherwise I'm not sure I'd want to buy a game nobody will play after a few months.
  23. Another really great issue. My favorite article is "Out of State," followed by a tie between "Unbearable Lightning" and "Moss Day," with "From the Bureau of the Campo Santo Ombudsman" narrowly following up in fourth place. It also made me want to buy a Firewatch print from the Campo Santo store, but I guess they're either sold out or not being sold yet.
  24. Anyone know his way around federal labor laws?

i know my way around federal labor laws. the best way around federal labor laws is to only pay your employees in cash and threaten them if they grumble. works every time.
