Well now I'm just curious.
-
I'd be shocked if AC3 was the last game in the franchise to be honest. The fact that they are setting it in a new time period with new characters makes me think it's the sort of franchise that has no end in sight, a la GTA. In other news, I bought the GTA complete pack today. £5 is a ridiculous bargain verging on stealing.

I think I'll wait until Arkham City goes 75% off in a few months. That way if I can't deal with GFWL, it'll at least be less money wasted. I'm not in a desperate rush to play it right now anyway.
-
I haven't played it, but I'm almost certain it does. Is GFWL as bad as people say it is? I've never had to use it before, not sure if I want to start.

Orcs Must Die! is a stupidly fun tower defence / third person shooter game. It's 50% off at the moment, but I imagine it will drop to 75% at some point. The sequel is released in a few weeks, but I can't recommend the first game enough.

The first post in this thread has a lot of good deals that would be easy to miss otherwise. I'm tempted to get World of Goo at 75%, as it seems unlikely that it will drop any more on a daily. I might wait and see though, you never know.

That happened to me the first time I loaded up the front page, but it's working now. It was the first Indie Bundle pack that was hidden, or it was for me at least.

Oh right. Bad news. I guess it will be quite a few months still until the Mod API is out and mod makers have transitioned to it. I hate to be one of those guys who only ever plays games modded, but vanilla Minecraft just doesn't hold the same allure for me as it used to. I need more goals.

http://steamcommunity.com/id/hyretic I was resistant to Steam for a long time due to some totally misguided "principles", so I only actually started using it a couple of months ago. That's my excuse for only having one friend on there, haha. I've built up a decent collection though due to the sales. To show how much of a noob I was, the day I joined Steam I bought the Portal / Portal 2 pack at 66% off, thinking what an amazing deal that was. It didn't take me long to realise that 66% off is basically standard on Steam. Not that I regret that purchase though. I pretty much just play single player games. I imagine my rapes per minute ratio wouldn't be favourable if I started playing CoD online or something. But feel free to add me if you want real time updates on how often I play Peggle.

I'm amazed it took this long for those two changes. I haven't been playing Minecraft lately. I think I'm going to wait until there's a version of the Technic pack for 1.2.5 before I start a new world.

I was stuck on that level for a while too. Come to think of it, there have been five for six occasions where I've thought "I'm literally never going to be able to beat this level" and thinking that I was done with the game. Somehow though, turning the game off and coming back to it a few days later seems to recharge my powers and I get there eventually. I'm currently a few levels into 'The End'. A game this hard is so sweetly satisfying when you complete a level.

I really like the look of this game. I haven't played it yet as I'm planning to pre-order Overgrowth at some point (read: not this close to the Steam summer sale) so there's little point in buying Reciever seperately. Plus, I don't know if I'd want to pay for a game that I'm not even sure they're going to update. It looks interesting as a little free bonus game included with the main game though.

I pre-ordered this around six months ago and had a lot of fun with it. The problem is, in this early alpha state, once you have successfully orbited the Mun and made it back, there's not a whole lot else to do, so I haven't played it since. I bought it mainly because I thought it would be a good game in the future though, rather than how it is now. It has a lot of potential once they start working on the mission structure and goals. It has a learning curve though. I was really struggling until I watched a series of Youtube videos on it.
