Well, we've got that strike run scheduled, but the comments in that thread seem to say a light level of around 290 is needed. Unless I get lucky with the drops, I won't be up to snuff. Very curious to see if it's just running the mission on Heroic that makes this possible or if it has to be the Daily. Regardless, the fact that this is even a thing is so great. And more to come, I'm sure.

This is good because I have the "run five heroic strikes" quest sitting there and didn't want to run with pubbies, plus the voidwalker & sunsinger generate orbs quests (plus the petra quest which apparently I should really get finished!).

My haul from about 35 Coins: Y2 Versions of: Hawkmoon, Suros Regime, Invective, Obsidian Mind, Crest of Alpha Lupi (I really need to start a Hunter), No Backup Plans Only one new exotic: Hereafter (a Black Hammer-ish exotic) I'd agree with JonCole that it doesn't really ruin anything. Tons of cool items are gated by other activities and you can only a equip one exotic gun/armor at a time anyway. That being said I would not be surprised (or disappointed) if they patch it to only work on strike bosses or something.

So Xur is now selling an item called Three of Coins that you can use to boost your chance of getting an exotic engram from "Ultra" enemies like various bosses. You can stack them to increase the odds further. The thing is, once you kill the boss, the buff is gone, but until you pick up the engram (if there is one), the stacking effect remains, so it only takes one more Coin to get back to the max buff effect. So people are doing the technique in the video below to farm exotics. Just leave the engrams on the ground until you are done farming since they persist through respawns.

I'm still working on the meat of the campaign right now (real bummer having this job thing), but so far this expansion has been really good. The storytelling is way better, the new gun designs are cool, and the new Warlock subclass is super fun. I haven't even had a chance to play the new strikes or explore the Dreadnaught yet. I've had a hard time sharding my old gear though...I'm too sentimental.

Hey Donosar, we've generally been using the100.io to schedule games. You're welcome to join and try posting some games for early content or whatever. Here is the link for the group. Oh man I've been super curious to try a blind raid out. The previous two raids were pretty much solved by the time I got to them (who remembers the glory days of pushing the Templar and Atheon off the ledge btw?). If we don't finish it's no big deal to me. I just want to actually try and puzzle things out for once.

It's not like they made it on rails or anything. It's the same game but the aiming is better. There's really no downside.

Have you thought about tracking down a Wii copy? I think the motion control aiming might help out. It's been a long time though and I might be misremembering...

I'm not sure if it belongs in here, but what do people think about putting two spaces after a period? What's the point? It's not like it makes it more readable. In conclusion, two spaces is bad and people that do it should feel bad.

Is that true? I thought you just had to give a 3ft safety margin when passing. This may be something that varies state to state.

Some random thoughts from a few hours of playtime in both PvE and PvP -All the UI improvements are a dramatic improvement (quest screen, bounty tracking, etc). The quest progression also seems much better. -Rift seems very chaotic with pubbies. Maybe due to the newness of the mode, but right now a 6-man team could probably dominate. -The new map in the Europe Dead Zone seems very cramped. Not sure I'm a fan. I like the other two though. -Shotguns one hit kill range still seems too big in PvP. I suppose in Trials/Iron Banner this won't matter since the new guns probably won't have the same range+perks, but in vanilla crucible, I see Matadors hanging around for quite a while. -I had a hard time being successful with an AR in PvP. Might be due to my shitty aim? The damage buff was very noticeable in PvE though so at least they are viable there now. Also the buffs to Hard Light make it kinda bananas. -The direction they've given to the Lord Shaxx voice actor has obviously changed. The contrast between his old, matter-of-fact dialogue and the high energy, urgent new lines is really noticeable. I like the new stuff though...goes well with the general tone of Crucible.

You ever use clip ins? Because falls like that are par for the course when learning to use them (or any time afterwards if you are an oaf like me).

I was secretly hoping that one of their TTK reveals would be an in-game grimoire viewer. Someday... As it is, grimoire is only useful for trolling your friends about how pathetic their noob tier score is and post-patch the score is no longer displayed under a person's name so the value somehow lessens even more.

That last paragraph is about as high a praise as you can get: Maybe those working conditions at Konami are the way to go!

I don't drink them often so I can't recommend any specific brands (maybe some others in here can), but some of the more expensive burbouns or whiskeys out there can actually be really good straight up. Maybe not for everyone but worth trying some out next time you're at a bar.

I dunno, I had it up on a 2nd monitor while I was doing some work and there are some fun moments in there like when they all continually fail to cross that stupid bridge for the 1st star or when Dan backstabs everyone in a Bowser stage and everyone but him loses all their coins. Dan makes such a good heel. If you (understandably) feel compelled to skip around, just keep an eye out for any dramatic change in coin values or any time someone gets a star. The King of Dragon's Pass Quick Look is so good. Austin is continually exasperated by Vinny's villainy. Obviously Austin never watched any of the Sleeping Dogs QLs.

How do you know when your preorder plans have gone too far? When you need a shitty video to explain your convoluted preorder scheme, that's when.

Some interesting stuff in the weekly update. Nightfalls: -No more XP buff -No more dumping to orbit on wipe -30 second death timer. Weekly Heroic Strikes are gone and replaced with a Heroic Strike playlist that awards Legendary Marks (which are account wide now). No complaints here. Seems like they're removing the more annoying elements of these activities. I am curious what they replace that XP boost with. BTW for those not in the 100.io group, I was going to try and do a newbie Vault of Glass run this Sunday if anyone is interested.
