  1. About Neptune's Pride 2 : It's funny to me that you guys were AMAZED that the dude you singled out based on who you thought he was in real life and no other reason whatsoever took it personally.
  2. Best Quote? (and Best Ladders?)

I'm guessing this was discussed already, but it made me chuckle.
  3. Idle Thumbs 67: Dot Gobbler

Chris, from what I read, the 4th clock tower anti-cube (grey) is just midnight every 2 days, based on your xbox' time. You can even take the xbox offline to get the cube.
  4. If you want a true WIZARD in dota2, you might want to check Invoker, when you've played a few more hundred hours. He's one of the most complex heroes in the game, but he's closer to the WIZARD idea than Warlock! Edit: (posting as I'm listening to the cast) Invoker has that thing like manually inputting things in the keypad. He has 3 different magic orbs that he spawns around him, and depending on the orbs that gravitate him at the moment, he can "invoke" 10 different spells. It's pretty hardcore. You basically can change them on the fly, which puts the skill ceiling SUPER HIGH for this hero. Pros are pretty insane to watch play him.
  5. Friends of mine are soon releasing the game they've been working on for the past 3 years.... I'll just leave this here Made in Montreal, QC, and set in colonial snowy qc in the 1850s. Trailer here: Website here: http://www.sangfroidgame.com Comments ?
  6. Ex-Far Cry 2 Designer goes indie

Hey guys, an ex-colleague of mine just started an indie company today after being laid off by EA a few weeks ago. http://exludis.tumblr.com/post/22714460202/this-is-your-new-life I thought the thumbs would be interested, as this guy is responsible for many things I heard you guys talk about in Far Cry 2. He's also a reader of the podcast! Just a heads up basically. Nothing to show yet.
  7. Ex-Far Cry 2 Designer goes indie

He is. From what he told me though, the 2 game designers on the project were "excel" designers, balancing spreadsheet and doing pretty old school game design. Clint Hocking was a Will Wright-type guy, dropping bombs on the design team. The rest of the team had to make sense out of it... lol. Anyway i don't wanna get into that stuff not sure what can be said and can't be said, especially since I'm not the one who actually experienced it
  8. Excellent episode! Good to have the thumbs back in a full episode, and with an all-star crew! About that dota2 comment, on how some heroes are super epic and some others are really like lame joke, i think it's pretty clear that since this game came from War3, the modders just took anything they could from the engine, and spawned almost one hero for each model. Also, it's weird that Valve is keeping the UT announcer voice in there. These sounds were clearly used at first because those dudes needed some sound clips in their mods, but at this point... isn't it really out of character for the rest of the game? I wouldn't really care, but in some way, this game takes itself pretty seriously in many respects, I would expect it to be a little more coherent for those voices too. I love that game though. I recently got into it, and played some baby heroes (gankers, mostly Spirit Breaker). I'm getting better, and I'd love to meet y'all in the idle thumbs channel or something. It'd be sweet. Keep on the awesome casts. I want more.:tup:
  9. DOTA 2

I just played my first game with other humans! It was super fun. I played dota back in the day, and some HoN (not a lot) and lol (a bit more). After 4-5 hours, I like DOTA2 the best at this point. Played bounty hunter and had the greatest time. woot! Is there an idle thumbs channel in-game? It'd be fun to meet you guys to play!
  10. New people: Read this, say hi.

Hey all. Long time listener, since the beginning of the podcast. I figure it was time to make an account. I'd be charmed to play DOTA2 with y'all. Video games.
