I didn't think it was bad after the main arc as much as it was a logical ending point (as in it was going to end there but kept going because the book was popular) and I didn't feel the need to stick with it because I felt satisfied. If you're still enjoying the stories and characters then you'll probably enjoy the next half of the series too.

Read Too Cool to be Forgotten again last night and yeah, it's really good and still gets me. Really looking forward to Alex Robinson's new book that comes out pretty soon. It'll be interesting to see the scope as it's going for a similar sort of thing as Box Office Poison, but it's half the length, though Too Cool did a lot in only 120 pages.

The first thing that comes to mind is The Quiet Earth (probably because it has the word 'quiet' in the title). It's quiet and easy to watch, I find it relaxing.

I got my Steam Link on Saturday and so far I'm really digging it. I still need to find a small wireless keyboard, but so far I've been playing a lot of old point and click adventure games (which is basically what I bought it for) and it's great. It's been cold and rainy where I live the past couple days and curling up on the sofa next to the fire place and playing with just a trackball has been pretty sweet.

I would assume not as that would mean there'd be no reason to subscribe if you could just wait and see if the games were actually ones you wanted.

Saw Spectre, yeah it was bad. Also agree with JKO that the plot is basically the same as Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, I was definitely thinking that while watching.

I totally get why Patreon does it, but I signed up on the 2nd of the month which is really unfortunate as Patreon collects money on the first of every month. Oh well.

The terms earth and ground can be used interchangeably, and yes it sounds like that's what the problem is.

I don't see what everyone sees in that movie ...

I watched it a year or so ago when it was on Netflix (I don't think it is anymore) and I loved it. -

Wow I hadn't heard of Victim before but I'll definitely check it out now. I really liked The Wedding Banquet, it might be my favorite Ang Lee film. Also I loved Philadelphia, though it's been a while since I watched it.

It doesn't bother me that much normally, but I listen to a couple podcasts where there's a group of people who just sound like normal people having a conversation and sometimes there'll be a guest who does do the radio voice and it really stands out.

I feel like I watch a lot of stuff on Vimeo, but it's probably actually not that much.

Oh yeah I think going black and white is the right decision for this book. I had just read the first issue of Twilight Children which is a new Vertigo series set in a tropical South American town written by Gilbert Hernandez drawn by Darwyn Cooke with Stewart on colors and visually it brought me back to Daytripper so the lack of color in Two Brothers was very striking, but Two Brothers isn't Daytripper. I think I'm in the same boat, especially after having just rewatched the new remastered version of The Civil War PBS recently aired.

Winter Wizard Jolly Jam interest thread
TheLastBaron replied to Spenny's topic in Wizard Jam 2 Archive
Yeah, and the same things apply to the other stems as well as music too, so you could say run your sound through some sort of processing based on game states (like running everything through a low pass filter when the player's health is low or something). A lot of games will dynamically duck certain sounds depending on how important they are at any given time so that even if there are a bunch of sounds going on at the same time you can hear what you need to, and middleware makes setting that up a lot easier. -
I just got my copy of Two Brothers, the new book by Fabio Moon and Gabriel Ba. Super excited to read it, through flipping through and looking at the art does make me miss Dave Stewart's coloring that Daytripper had.

Basically any audio middleware (fmod, wwise, fabric, ect.) is going to save you time and require less programing and scripting to implement. They're especially nice for setting up things like dynamic audio and music systems. -
Bowery Boys is just two guys talking super conversationally about history, but as the title suggests it's all about New York history.

Yeah that bothered me, but I also probably expected it to be more like Castaway than was fair.

I'm rewatching Doug, Judy is so much better than I remember as a kid, I guess I just didn't get her. Also Roger is way more of a "Helga" than the straight up bully I thought he was back then.

BattleZone (1998), Sacrifice, & other hybrids

DoubleFine were streaming Brutal Legend the other day and it really made me want to pick it up again (I haven't played since it first came out on 360). Hits on all the things I loved about Sacrifice plus I love the setting/art/music/Jack Black. -
I use the Logitech M570

I'm for sure buying a Link so I can sit on my couch and play adventure games with my trackball. I'm still split on the controller though.
