  1. "Adults Should Read Adult Books" - Joel Stein

I guess it doesn't really matter whether it's in public or not, I was just sort of thinking about the first line of the article "The only thing more embarrassing than catching a guy on the plane looking at pornography on his computer is seeing a guy on the plane reading “The Hunger Games.” Or a Twilight book. Or Harry Potter". I was only thinking about Twilight, as the other books I could see as being normal fiction, but Twilight I see as being a straight Romance novel and I just find it weird when people read those in public, as someone who sat next to a girl in high school who read books with titles like "Bedding the Heiress". If I was out walking around and I saw a 50 year old woman sitting on a bench by herself reading Twilight I would find it weird, but if a 50 year old woman was reading it at her house I would find it less weird, probably because I would assume she just is casually reading it to see what the fuss is about, or maybe she has a daughter who is into the books/movies and wants to connect with her.
  2. "Adults Should Read Adult Books" - Joel Stein

As a 20 year old I feel kind of lucky now that I'm allowed to play video games and watch Pixar movies. the statement "I appreciate that adults occasionally watch Pixar movies or play video games. That’s fine. Those media don’t require much of your brains." Makes not care what this guy has to say, whether or not I agree with it. That being said, If I saw a 50 year old woman in public reading Twilight I would wonder why she was doing it in public.
  3. Movie/TV recommendations

New Adventure time was good, but it was also only 15 minutes long so I'm now sad. I wish I watched more hour long adult television.
  4. What would Molydeux

I assume that the people I talk to on forums are whatever their avatar pictures are.
  5. Dragon's Dogma

This game looks way more interesting than I thought it'd be, the title made it seem like something ign would tell me would blow me away.
  6. I'm really torn, I want to like that guy because that was a very entertaining read and now it seems he's actually funny and not an angry douche, but then I don't want to like him because he's not Jack Black.
  7. I agree with this. As for the post above me , the book is less than 200 pages so it's should be a quick read, though I personally haven't started reading it yet.
  8. I'm really torn, I want to like that guy because that was a very entertaining read, but then I don't want to like that guy because he wrote that. But then I want to like him because he looks exactly like Jack Black.
  9. Star Wars Kinect

Finally, this looks like Star Wars might finally have a legitimate chance at redemption for the series/brand after the past 10 years.
  10. Putt-Putt on the... iPhone?

It's cool to see that people like these games. As someone who got all of the games and grew up in the 90's playing all of them they're some of my favorite games ever, but I never knew people recognized them since when I was in elementary school my friends only vaguely knew of Humongous from the backyard sports series. I haven't played any of them since I was probably 9 or 10, but hearing they they are still fun today makes me want to go back and play them again, especially since there's a third Spy Fox game that I haven't played before.
  11. Please enter your birth date to continue.

So I was looking at soccer players' stats on the ol' Pedia and noticed that England international and Arsenal baby-faced sweetheart Jack Wilshere was born on January 1st. He's that guy.
  12. Lone Survivor

Definitely thought it was a grin.
  13. Well... fuck. I'll make it next week for sure.
  14. Your first gaming device...

For me it was some sort of computer that I didn't know was a computer, I thought it was a flight simulator or something because I was super young and the games my dad got me were all the Star Wars ones like X-Wing, Rebel Assault, Rogue Squadron, and also that Star Wars Podracer game. I played everything with a Logitech Wingman Force, the big stick that moved around on it's own and had force feed back, it was awesome. This guy: I didn't know that the mouse and keyboard were the standard inputs for a computer for a REALLY long time because I never used them at all, ever, until I started playing point and click adventures. I found the Wingman in my dad's closet in his office less than a month ago and was super psyched, but there are no drivers at all for it and I can't get it to work, but I still have it sitting on my desk again because I love it.
  15. Okay so I just got this for my Kindle, I don't know anything about the book other than the title, I didn't read the synopsis and I don't know what genre of book it is, but that will be part of the fun I guess.
  16. Non-video games

AFAoS was covered in the most recent episode of Shut Up and Sit Down, a board game review show made by Paul Dean and Quintin Smith(former Rock Paper Shotgun writer). It's a great show, very entertaining and well produced.
  17. Civilization games

Also check out the mod for Civ IV, Fall from Heaven 2, it's just awesome and really well done.
  18. Civilization games

If you already own CivIV then that's where you should start. I personally really like Civ V and don't necessarily agree with all the criticism for it, but I can see where people are coming from. That said I still think IV is the better game and if you already own it there's no need to buy another game as IV is the best Civ game there is.
  19. Epic Mickey

Well it probably still does, it just also happens to happen other places as well.
  20. Putt-Putt on the... iPhone?

My Uncle worked for Humongous for a while in the 90's, my favorites were the Spyfox games, though I think Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon and the Freddie Fish with the kelp stuff were the first games I played. Anyways from what I remember the woman who made Fatty Bear left the company and took the rights for the character with her which is why they only ever made one Fatty Bear game.
  21. Books, books, books...

I have a lot of comics on my list, most from Vertigo, and Preacher is one of them. I'm also planning to pick up Jim Henson's Tale of Sand, has anyone here seen/read it?
  22. The Banner Saga

I backed that when it first went up based on the animation alone. The fact that it's also a game I would play anyways is just a plus.
  23. Draw Something

I downloaded this a week or so back when i was at the movies with my friends and we were trying to pass time in line. It's fun, but a lot of the pop-culture references are kind of annoying, not that you have to pick those words. It also makes me miss iSketch/InkLink from back when shockwave games were all the rage.
  24. Lone Survivor

    Yep, that was it
  25. Lone Survivor

This game seems super cool, gonna pick it up. I like the graphics of it, wasn't there another game that came out a while back that had similar pixel art where it looks like a quilt?
