  1. DOTA 2

So I just found out that even if you leave games you still get item drops in bot matches. I wonder if this will end up like idle farming servers in TF2. Edit: So I wanted to see if this actually worked so today I started a bot game, randomed a hero and then bought a courier and a bottle for my team, dropped them and diconnected. People rage all the time when they dont get heroes they like so I don't think my team was supprise. I started watching a Euro 2012 game and came back at half time to see I had ~50-60 more Battle Points and a helmet for Omni in my inventory. It seems like the simplest thing to disable items and BPs for bot games...
  2. You Bloody Idiots OR A Tale of M$

Wait, so there will be things that work on Windows 8 but aren't compatible with 7? That doesn't make any sense, as outside of portable devices W8 doesn't really have a draw over Windows 7 since aside from a few things and the Metro UI it's almost the same.
  3. Diablo III

Yeah I figured that was the draw, that you could spend a few dollars and get good weapons. It's not all items that are going for hundreds though, most things in the 800k-1 mil range go for around $15 ish, at least from what I can see. I cant find any results for people selling gold, but that's also an option in the RMAH, so I'm curious to see what the exchange rate ends up being once things get settled. Gold is sold in 100k increments btw.
  4. Diablo III

So Blizzard is saying that the exploit never worked, but I was watching people on stream doing it. The RMAH still launched and people are already selling stuff for hundreds of dollars. I assumed it would be like a 10 mil item would sell for $15-20, but people are selling stuff for a lot. Maybe this will encourage Blizzard to release PvP before "Q4"
  5. Diablo III

So I guess people finally figured out how to dupe items. It just got hotfixed, but people have billions of gold. At this point the RMAH basically can't ever come out, which means the always online servers and all the problems that came with them are for shit because they were supposed to be so people couldn't do this.
  6. I loved Links Awakening, how some people are when it comes to final fantasy msic and such is how I was for the song in that, I thought it was so cool, with the different instrument parts and such. I didn't have any bugs when I played OoT or Master Quest, can you be more specific? What exactly happened for you? Wind Waker ruined my summer when it came out, I was also the guy that bought the gba link cable to use the Tingle Tuner. I decided I wanted to collect all the figurines and got super into it and ended up getting burnt out when I had almost gotten them all because I found out that there was 1 that you had to plan on getting from the start of the game to get on your first playthrough and I still haven't beaten the game, I'm at Gannon I believe, but if I were to go back I'd just replay it. On the bright side it killed any chance for me of ever giving a shit about achievements and/or collectables in games.
  7. Diablo III

What are you doing, difficulty wise and hardcore or softcore?
  8. Neal Stephenson's CLANG

I was going to say something about the Falcon, except it seems like it wouldn't be a good fit for a sword game. Maybe if you taped two of them together.
  9. Diablo III

Its not that big of a deal, noone I play with does that since it's better to just get normal gear than to try and stack life on kill. It also doesnt work with hounds because they have a 60 second cooldown, and also they get pretty much 1 shot anyways, so if you want heals the health orb rune is decent, all other hounds are bad. Hydra is one of the most important spells for Wizards though because it allows you to have another source of damage. Wizards are basically only limited by their attack speed so they are constantly casting. This is why Wizards care so much about weapon speed, as in the number of attacks per second their weapon does. Hydra also allows you to keep doing damage when you're are kiting and moving around.
  10. Diablo III

Yeah until inferno all you need is to do a lot of damage and youll be fine.
  11. The threat of Watch Dogs

Seeing the caption "everything is connected" below the title made me really, really, really, hate this game, but it was cool. There isn't really anything in that video let's me know if I'll actually want to play the game at all or if I think it will be good because at this point it could go either way, but it was cool. Also, I think that GTA IV already had a decent storyline. It took only took itself as seriously as it needed to and fit the style of game very well. P.S. I saw Jaffe's keynote at PAX last year and while I didn't really care for it that much, he's certainly more than just the angry doucebag everyone thinks he is.
  12. The Electronic Three: 2012

I didn't pay attention to anything E3 related at all because I never care much for E3. However, normally it seems like there are scoops that are so hot that I end up hearing about them anyways. This year that was not the case, everything I knew and cared about in the world of gaming is 100% the same as it was a month ago with the exception that I guess there's a Starwars game and now I know that CS:GO is going to be 15$.
  13. You like Zelda 2 more than MM? My favorites are A Link to the Past or Majora's Mask, depending on if I want a 2D or 3D game.
  14. Unreal Engine 4

This is cool, though as someone who spends more time with the audio side of stuff I'm more interested in the new version of FMOD (audio middleware). Still, as someone who has spent a lot of time with UE2-3 this is a huge leap forward and I'm interested to see what smart people do with UE4
  15. DOTA 2

Well Chaos Knight has basically bee done for a while and Phantom Assassin very close so it's only weird in the sense that I'd expect them to have all three finished, but then release 1 a week for 3 weeks in a ow just to stagger the new content.
  16. Diablo III

In inferno +All Resists is one of the most important stats
  17. Diablo III

Me and all of my friends get the startup lag too, its super annoying.
  18. I'm pretty sure some person in charge of something said that basically they will probably do a remake of MM also, but they want to make an actual new Zelda game for the 3DS first.
  19. Books, books, books...

I listen to certain things on audiobooks, and there are certain things I hate audiobooks of. I listened to Neil Gaiman's stuff on audio book because its easy to listen to, and he has a great voice. Anansi Boys by him was narrated by Lenny Henry and it is by far the best audio book I have ever listened to. He adds so much to it that I honestly feel that if you were to read the book instead of listening to the audio book you would be missing out, and I don't feel that way about any other book. On the other hand, I tried listening to both Consider Phlebas and Perdido Street Station on audio book and hated it, I don't think I made it further than 20-30 minutes in either before I gave up and just bought the books.
  20. Wow, I was expecting something like gameplay videos of something with decent looking models and stuff made in UDK or something, but that was actually a AAA quality cinematic.
  21. Diablo III

Is the wand rare, or is it legendary!?!?!?!
  22. Keep in mind they are voted on by the community and Valve picks some to add to the game, you don't just make them and get to use them.
  23. DOTA 2

Oh the heroes that have items the only ones I play are Kunka and Witch Doctor and while I like some of the Kunka stuff I like how he look normally a lot already so if I get a drop cool, if not I'm fine. WD I don't really like the items, I don't know if theyre in the store yet, I don't remember seeing them, but they were in Cyborgmatts blog post.
  24. http://www.cyborgmatt.com/2012/05/dota-2-30th-may-item-schema-update/ has everything, I think.
  25. I like all the cosmetic items, Sven in particular has all awesome looking sets. The only thing I don't like is how there are only items for a few heroes, but of those heroes some have 4-5 bundles. Obviously they'll be adding more stuff for other heroes and it was probably they had people coming up with stuff for those particular heroes and they came up with a bunch of ideas that were all good so they ended up using all of them. I just hope it doesn't end up like League of legends where some heroes have 10+ skins and are constantly getting new skins and others like Soraka who is one of the original champs and one of the most popular/best champs in the game has just 2 skins that she's had the whole time and has never gotten anything new. Obviously they'll make more items for popular heroes in dota because that's what sells and this isn't TF2 with only 8 classes so it can't be as even with distribution of new items, but I hope there aren't any heros that end up getting basically forgotten.
