So I didn my first dungeon today, and while this is probably old news to everyone who did them in the beta weekends, basically you can't fail. There are waypoints throught the dungeons so if you die you can just res mid fiht and run back. And if you wipe, the boss doesnt reset at all so you just walk back and continue from where you left off and their health and everything will be the same. So basically I probably wont be doing any more dungeons, but this game is big enough that there's still a lot of other stuff to do so it isn't a big loss. Also, I transfered to one of my friend's servers (server transfers are currently unlimited and free) and in WvW we completely destroy the other realms. As in, we controll basically everything, have all the bonuses, and our pie graph looks like a green circle with a red line in it (last time I checked I couldnt even see a pixel of red). I haven't done much WvW, but I have a feeling that it being this one sided is going to make it pretty boring, so I might try transfering while its still free.

So supprised either of the USA teams made it, and also supprised Na'Vi made it given how terrible they've been so far. I expected Mouz to go out in group, but not to be as disappointing. -

Even colorblind modes aren't that common, take League of Legends, a game with millions of users oh which I'm assuming a lot are color blind, and it involves lots of colored healthbars and minions. It just added colorblind mode earlier this year and it's been out since 2009.- 13 replies

I think I'm just going to try resetting and trying again. One of my friends got the game online a while back and didn't realize it didn't include head-start access, and one of my friends has been playing on my account and enjoying it so far up to like level 25 or so, and I have an account from my friend who already quit, so I think come tomorrow when my friend without headstart access gets into the game I'll just give the unused account to the person who was playing on my account and the three of us will start over from level 1 and play everything together. I'll try and get to level 40 or so before I make a final judgement on the game.

So, China is looking really strong. -
I've never been to Guru before, even when I played GW1, I just googled some things to read and see how everyone else felt about the game and happened to see one post in a multi page thread which I agreed with.
-
I saw a post on guru that kind of sums up how I feel about the game so far. "The difference for me, is that in WoW (and most other MMOs) you have marked progression. You get stronger with each level, get new abilities and move on to a zone with more powerful mobs. In GW2, leveling has no real bearing on your progression, yes you earn skill points, but all the ones that are really interesting to me I have by level 20-25. You go to new areas and see new mobs, but my characters feels very stagnant. This creates a huge disconnect between my character and I." It just feels really dull. I've been doing a fair amount of PvP, I mean I knew I'd find PvE kind of dumb, but even that is meh. Game is probably just not for me, whcihc sucks because I really wanted to like it.
-
Yeah, I don't know... So far, not enjoying the game at all. Taking progression out of an MMO just seems like a bad idea. I got to level 18 or so yesterday and then stopped. Just not finding it compelling at all. I think at this point I might ust give my account to a friend.

I don't see any other business model working. I don't see cosmetic items working at all, especially since in go there's even less character customization than other games in the sense that your character model is chosen by the map, as opposed to the older games where you picked your own model. Also, the people who aren't serious about CS enough to pay 15 dollars for it probably wouldn't enjoy it even if it were free
-
So I just played a game with some real life friends that are super serious about the game, as in they get mad at team spawns and stuff, and plan out exactly whats happening and who is buying what and how many people are going where. I was so weird, like having people actually stop what they were doing and turn around because someone told them there was an AWP somewhere on the ground
-
This. For me PvE is probably never going to be a thing at all, I'm most likeley only going to do PvP, specifically WvW stuff (I don't much care for the SPvP stuff, capturing points is kind of meh, at least in my opinion)

I hate how when you're on a server and you open the server browser and click to join a new one it just exits back to the main menu instead of joining a new server. At least that's how it is for me. Also, I've been playing on a bunch of servers that I think are just using source versions of maps, but they still look like upgraded graphics because I never switched to source and have only played maybe 10 hours total of it, a lot of which was earlier in 2012. So everything looks new, even the things that aren't actually new. Also, I want a WC3 mod server ASAP.

Yeah I actually had Farmville in mind as the worst possible case, but personally if people enjoy playing something, whatever. I don't have to play it and if it makes the people who do play it happy, more power to them. -
Well, when you die you're already at the base when you respawn. As for waiting on people, I don't remember how it is, is it everyone has to ready up for the round to start, or is it Dungeon Defenders where it starts a timer and each person that readies up decreases the time?
-
Playing against real people is pretty much the only time battling is fun, and I don't think a very large percentage of the people that have played a pokemon game at some point have battled real people, especially since up until Black/White you had to either to it in person, or know their friend code.

Isn't any game that lots of people enjoy playing one that is worth existing, even if it is bad? (Not saying that League is bad) -

So I had real ramen from a real Japanese restaurant last week, and I was kind of surprised to find that it was pretty much identical to the normal dried kind. I don't know what I expected, but I was kind of disappointed that it didn't change my life. -
What exactly do you want to learn? Just like general guitar playing skills? Songs? Music theory?

Wait so instead of pixel hunting, their solution is to just make everything highlighted so you never need to look for anything? Or am I misunderstanding?

Hopefully at some point people will be able to make custom maps for Dota and put them in the workshope, like a custom map for Pudge wars. Speaking of which, after finally getting used to the new Pudge, I now hate the new-new Pudge. -
The only scope that you need to play CS well is the 360 no-scope with the AWP. So does anyone miss silencers? Are they coming at some point?
-
Oh yeah, every Pokemon game has those pretty much, so yeah you're correct. There's always a bird you get in the beginning , some normal type rodent, some stupid electric thing, usually some bugs, ect. Later on there's a lot more variety I think, there certainly was in D/P/Pt. The pokemon you find in the beginning of game are always boring, regardless of whether they're familiar or not.
