Neptune's Bountiful Pride: The Sequel

Well if you take the stars in your area and then just sort of build up ships to defend you should be equal since defending gives you a +1 bonus to weapons. -
Idle Thumbs 72: Crazy Crane's Deceit
TheLastBaron replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
I just listened to this episode (I'm super far behind after spending the last few months trying to catch up on a couple other casts) and while I reluctantly accept what has been said about claw machines, in middle school me and two other friends would go to the Safeway that was right next to our school after class and use the claw machine. In this case it was full of stuffed animals and while none of us wanted them it wasn't the point. We would each go to one side of the machine and look in to get all the angles covered and tell the one of us that was operating how much they needed to move the claw to get it lined up with the objective and most of the time we got it. We would usually spend around a dollar every day and usually this ended up with a couple of us getting stuffed animals, and I don't think we ever left without at least one. Since no one wanted them I ended up always taking them since my house was right next to the school so we passed it on the way to my other friends house. I woud just put them under my bed because I didn't have any room for them and we ended up with so many of them. Eventually it got to the point that there wasn't any more room under my bead and I just put them in garbage bags in my closet (I think now they're all in garbage bags in my attic). Now that I think about it it probably would have looked pretty weird if someone came into my room and lifted up the skirt around my bed and saw that it was just completely full of stuffed animals. Edit: It's also worth noting that eventually the Safeway just stopped stocking the machine. -

How many cycles in is that? I don't have any real point of reference for when I should expect to surrender myself to my new leader. -

I've started to get really paranoid about what other people are doing in parts of the nebula that aren't next to me. Up until now I just accepted that I couldn't do anything about it so it didn't really matter, but I've started to get worried about the long run and who I should consider as potential allies/threats. This has manifested itself in me taking screenshots of the galaxy every night and putting the present galaxy on one monitor and yesterday's on the other and spending too much time scanning back and forth to see what other people are doing (and even making notes). I hate what I've become. -
I replayed GTA IV with a friend last Summer, and when I say I replayed it I mean he had let me borrow his 360 copy when it first came out and I finally returned it and he put it in and we ended up playing it for a few weeks straight, doing nothing but screwing around in the world. I think we literally did nothing story related outside of whatever might have been necessary at the very beginning of the game. It was a blast. Part of that may have been that we play these types of games completely differently. I play them basically by the books, following story missions and doing side stuff as it opens up, but usually as a good person because I feel really weird being an asshole even in games. He just does whatever he feels like which usually involves ignoring the story and just running around being a total douche.

So I've started seeing this pop up around the webs, what exactly is it? As far as I can tell it's a Game Dev Story clone, but I don't actually know if it is. Is that basically the gist of it? Is it significantly different/superior in any way?

I only like onions when they aren't cooked, I don't like when they're slimy, but when they're crispy I do. Actually that's a lie because I like onions rings, but those are still crispy even if the onions inside is not. I agree about steak though. Well, I don't hate steak, but I find it really boring and don't get what all the fuss is about.

So if you have like 70/144 for a T1 tech and get traded the T2 you don't start with 70/288, correct? -
This isn't true, but even so how big the city is isn't as important how interesting it is. I consider San Andreas my least favorite of the GTA games because while it was bigger than 3 and Vice City I found it to just have a lot more area that didn't have anything in it and I constantly had to drive through big empty areas to get from one mission to another. I still liked the game, but if the option is to have a huge map that just means more time driving or a normal map that is completely full of stuff to do then I'd choose the second. Obviously if it's a huge map that is entirely filled with stuff that's better yet.

I don't really know how I feel. I'm probably Trev>Frank>Mike, but the thing is I feel like I would love Trevor as a whacky side character in a game, but to actually play as him I might not enjoy as he is by far the least relatable.

Wow, that blog is amazing. To illustrate how amazing it is, I originally began this post by typing "Oh. My. God." but then decided it made me sound like too much of a little school girl. -

Is there still a way in this to find which of your stars is the cheapest option for upgrading a specific thing (Eco/Tech/Sci) -

Murdoc is definitely JFK and trying to throw people off his trail. I'm not fooled that easily. I wish there was a game that was like this, only it was always at the part of the game where everyone is super friendly and willing to help each other out and instead of eventually getting to the part where everyone declares war and tries to kill each other all the people worked together to make the universe a better place for all. -

11 teams invited for TI3 so far, looks like every single game is going to be super good. If I wasn't going to be out of the country I would definitely go to Seattle. -
Notch makes the worlds oddest typing teacher?
TheLastBaron replied to darthbator's topic in Video Gaming
Yeah I was going to bring up Typing of the Dead as my favorite typing game (of course this is speaking relatively). In terms of learning to type/getting better at typing, for me the thing that made me get good at typing was just playing video games as a kid, like CS or Everquest. By the time I hit middle school and had been playing both of those for a few years I was pretty good and when our class had to go to the computer lab and play Mavis Beacon I always felt like a badass, though I was probably the only one of that opinion. Later on I found out that Mavis Beacon was a fictional person and it's all gone downhill from there. -

Boards of Canada are doing some crazy Valve-esque ARG for their next album. So far some of the things are releasing a 12" album in random small record stores which had a code as audio, and airing this on Toonami -

There's nothing left for me to do at the moment, but I'm still sitting here looking at the tab and panning around whilst being super tense. -

Dear lord it's already begun! Why did I go to sleep last night, I should have been vigilantly manning the battle stations!? -
I wonder what people will do if it's not called the Xbox 720.

That made me laugh out loud, then it made me pause and wait for it again, and then it made me laugh out loud again.

I have those same headphones, I also like the thing that comes with them to attach to your desk to hang them from.

So GY!BE have announced a tour. Their new album is still probably my least favorite of theirs, but they're super good live and I'd recommend anyone who can see them. http://pitchfork.com/news/50451-godspeed-you-black-emperor-announce-tour/ -
I could probably save a lot of space by installing fewer games on Steam, I think my steam folder is close to 400 or 500 gigs, and it's only maybe half of my games or 2/3's, but I install basically any game that I feel I might play at some time.
